Eripse wouldn't be that lucky...

During that half-circle, the whine had reached its highest pitch. Armor had heated to the maximum tolerance of the metal. With that, before her throw was released, it happened.

BOOM

Self-destruct. Better to be entirely destroyed and hide the secrets of its creation than be captured and re-manufactured by someone else. Besides, why die in such an ignoble way? Leave with a bang, and try and take someone with you. That someone being Eripse, who currently had one hand inside of its metallic guts.

Folly. She was only human, when you got down to the basic chassis... So she was allowed mistakes. With a voiced, robotic grunt, An arm would be obliterated, as well as an eye in the ensuing shrapnel, A piece of metal piercing the lense. Arm did not end merely at the elbow, but the shoulder entire. Wires, hydraulics dangled.. But, none the less, she was still generally in existance.

Reaching up to pull the shard from the lens, black, murky liquid would rove from injuries, first sealing over the lense, rather than repairing it, patching it over with a mass of metal... Shoulder? Dangly bits and such would be severed, and again, a sheen of titanium would cover the opening.

Mmm, Nano-bots.

Healed now, she would shrink and revert, Groaning as she popped a shoulder and endured sore muscles, bearing only one eye. Scavenging abit, she'd steal a pair of pants from a corpse and pick up an assault rifle, which she'd strap to her person, followed by two handguns... Simple stuff. She'll leave it to the greater voices (That's you!) to decide. Then it's onward, in the direction the R.I.O.T. Team had headed, to offer what help, violent or otherwise, she could offer.

"Hey. Sorry about earlier. The way you acted back there, it seems to me you got the juice for this after all... sorry I doubted you."

"I don't need your pity,"Red said, "I kill people for living, what good am I if I can't do my job."

Are all these people bad people, I don't know, but they are fighting for a bad cause, and if they are fighting they should be prepared to die. It's the way of the world, wether I like it or not.

"I won't fail to shoot back next time, get to the warehouse from behind, I'll go in from the front entrance."

The bandages were quickly tied around her shoulder, she did most of the work herself, gently pushing down the side of her R.I.O.T. trench coat. The bullet had been at such close range, and had gone through the razor thin seam of her protective vest. The sniper happened to be a damn good shot, and would have taken off her head had she not guessed his target.

She tightened the bandages fiercly, overly tight, to staunch the blood flow. Nothing vital was hit, it wasn't as bad as it looked, just very bloody. In no time she running toward the warehouse, darting through enemy fire at full speed, quite a sight as she was moving at 24kph fully equipped.

In the warehouse a flashbang followed the grand entrance of R.I.O.T. Five, semi-auto machine gun fire was fired in bursts toward each target with pin-point accuraccy. Five terrorists, low-grade synthetic humans, were taken down before a shot was fired. The remaining terrorists remained stationary, they were untrained, the equivelant of humans on adrenaline with AK-47's. The six person team moved through the main room, avoiding poorly aimed hail of machine gun fire as they took down their targets with precision bursts. In a mere three minutes the main room was cleared, and the equipment was captured.

They took defensive posture and awaited further instructions, it seemed easy, almost too easy. Red skidded into the warehouse just as they had taken up their posture, skidding around and turning her revolver on a human with an Ak-47. It was a ten year old boy, at least the shape of one, so she took cover as bullets flew against the outside wall.

"Hold your fire! We can't risk killing a child!"

For all she knew, this was a ploy, a trick, an adult mind in a synthetic child body. But there was know way to know for sure without getting close, extremely close, or killing it and asking questions later.

An RPG hit the wall, tearing a big hole through the brick and exposing her position and that of a few of her team members. She had to think of something fast. There wasn't time for anything fancy such a as disarming or capturing. even a non-fatla shot was next to imposible as only the boy's head was exposed. Either evacuate and lose the warehouse and the information inside, do nothing an get killed, or take out that enemy and risk doing something she had never done before, kill a child in cold blood.

Damn those bastards!

She threw one of her flash bangs through the window to hopefully buy time, maybe the boy's reaction to it would tell something as well.

Yeah, for some odd and strange reason, that child was carrying a full-fledged, adult-sized RPG and shooting at them with almost pinpoint accuracy. His eyes seemed to dialate almost mechanically, zooming in on their position as it was exposed.

Then the flashbang was let loose.

The kid didn't blink, but his optical centers were destroyed. Meh, that was okay... his eyes turned from their usual color to a red one. Thermal imaging was such a boon, wasn't it? The child simply smiled, which was creepy, considering it carried explosive ordinance, and fired again, on target.

Yes, something was wrong.

Eripse had to give it to the world... They'd gone far with Combustion. Farther than she'd honestly thought they'd ever go.

She'd... recon'd a nice, working vehicle, and stuttered through the mechanics for but a second, Before she learned, albeit with shakes. Nothing special. A four-door sedan. As the Team sat under fire from a child, music from the radio would get progressively louder, as the woman took turns at sixty, seventy, and gunning it down straight-aways at speeds of ninety and a little bit more.

Quote:
I'm everything you know
You wonder friend of foe
I'm the burning in your throat when you swallow
But you spit me out
Your stomach full of doubt
And still you're faking every word out of your mouth
But you won't let go
It's all about control
Understand I'm born to lead you will follow
I don't wanna stay
I'm running away
Don't you hear me when i say
Goodbye...so long...nice try...I'm gone
You don't like being second
I don't like being wrong
I won't forget the way you made me feel
I won't regret running away from here
You think you see the world well you see nothing
Time is only gonna make it worse in the end
So I'll say goodbye again
Now it's there to see
You've forgotten me
Ever since I was the prince among theives
So you hold me down
Strip away my crown
Can't contain me knowing all the truth I found
Always thinking small
Helping me to fail
Now you're jealousy and hate consumes us all
I don't wanna stay
I'm running away
Don't you hear me when i say
Don't hit me with you fears
I won't fit with your ideas
You missed what I'm about
I earned my way out
And in the end
I'll say goodbye again

SR-71 - Goodbye

The vehicle would raise on two wheels, as she tore the wheel in the direction of the warehouse's large gate, as warehouses were oft to have... And if anywhere was to be a showdown arena, this was it. The car would, depending on scenarios, preform differently.

If the door was open, It would manage to get through the door on two wheels before flatting back to four, Eri gunning it faster as she set her sights on the little boy with an RPG. She had no morals, it seemed. In this matter, she lived by one creed. )All is Fair in Love and War.(

If the door was closed, The Sedan would crash through, pinwheeling on the front fender as it burst through, The bird inside finding herself to be on the worlds best rollercoaster. Things were always funner if you couldn't die. Once the car had managed to settle, she'd crawl out, probably in the verge of an explosion, gaining some rather horrible injuries, though none from the explosion itself.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in war-torn Aekea, Gareth Mordant was cleaning up his meager living space. An open window was exuding clouds of dust as he went at it with a will, scrubbing down surfaces with a now dust-caked cloth and rearranging things at whim. His blood-stained t-shirt was gone, replaced with a sarcastic t-shirt which stated in white lettering over black fabric: "I have no idea what's going on". His gun and sword, unneeded now, rest on his bed as he finished scrubbing down the apartment. Now that he's finished, he goes to check his mail.

Gareth: Hmm...junk...junk...junk...magazine--wait, catalog (junk)...magazine...junk...what's this?

"This" is a new letter, yet to be slightly yellowed by neglect and age. It's addressed to him, and it's from some legal firm by the looks of it.

Gareth: Well, let's see what the bastardly briefcasers want with me..."Mr. Gareth R. Mordant, we regret to inform you that your parents..."

Gareth's eyes widen slightly as he continues to read. The basic gist of the letter was that his birth parents had died and left everything in his name, so he needed to come to this legal office and sign a few forms. Once he finishes reading, the letter slips from his hands to gently flutter to the floor. Numbly, he stands up and buckles his weapons belt on, then throws on his battle-scarred and time-worn black jacket. With a slight hesitation, he bends down to pick up the sheet of paper whose words shook him so.

Gareth: They didn't even ********' know me...and they're giving me everything?! I'm practically claiming a damned inheritance from strangers...

With those thoughts, the door clicks shut behind him as he begins the long walk to this law firm...

((Did Eripse just kill Cyber boy or crash under the building he was firing, or crash into the warehouse, I'm confused. Will erase once I'm clear.))
PostPosted: Sun Feb 11, 2007 12:04 am

(According to Hugin, the door is open, so she came through the door, and is aiming for Cyber-boy. I'm a nice, elitist RPer, so I give my opponents a chance. No, I haven't hit him, yet, but it's what I'm aiming for. I assumed we were in the Warehouse already, the entire lot of us, and that the general showdown would happen in the big area of a warehouse, such as is accompanied by the loading door, which is usually very big. The way I see it, This is where we're at right now, is basically the loading room. You guys had came in through the front, so you guys cleared offices and such like thingers. Then you got to the main, big loading room and that's where Cyber-boy is. Eri's hauling a** through big room, aiming for Cyber-boy. o.o... Uhm, clear enough? D smile

(I really just typed all that much because I realized my girlfriend likes it when I type fast... Oh bebe.)

((Okay, actually, the main area was stormed, as the warehouse was surrounded from all sides and the R.I.OT. members crashed through the window, securing the main area wich was set up as an area of operations. As for the kid, he's mine, so you're going to have to find another target. mad You can't die, so this shouldn't hurt too much.))

An unknown vehicle come roaring toward the warehouse R.I.O.T. had just captured, with no indication of being friend or foe, which was not acceptable. The heavy weapons crew didn't hesitate to take aim for it as it approached the gate, direct firing a Javelin anto-tank missile at the vehicle approached within the 100 meter range. This missile had lock on functons and automatic self guidence, it wouldn't miss, and it didn't require an operator to aim it. The crew would fire, and take up new positions. Eripse's vehicle had a quarter of a second until it went boom in very big way, as this missile's warhead was designed to take out a heavy tank in one shot.

Meanwhile, as the flash bang went off and the cyber-child was distracted, Red went back on the move. Crossing to the front of the street and into the building where the kid was holed up, on the third floor. She went in alone, kicking down the door into the small office building that was serving as a secondary enemy strong hold. Her team kept suppresive fire on the child as Red snaked her way up the steps, keeping her Enforcer 40 caliber pistol upraised and in front of her chest, her back against the wall at every corner. Where there was one, there were ussually more.

Her shoulder burned and ached, but she could move her arm still, she could still fight.

If the enemy was using child synthetic bodies as decoys, it was best to know how to pick them out from the real thing. A civilian casualty like that would be just the bad press anyone needed to hamper R.I.O.T.'s function.

She had some of her own ordinance with her at least, something she figured might nuetralize the child until she could find up what was really up. At best, she could capture the kid, and keep him for analysis by R.I.

A radio signal reached Red before she reached the building adjacent to her position, and her Tactical Response Watch vibrated softly as the message came in. Transmission silence was useless at this point; they had taken the plaza in front of the building, and now the warehouse as well.

If she chose to recieve the message, she would hear the following in the radio that was installed within her helmet:

"Ma'am, warehouse secured. The people in the R.I. building aren't going to get any more pressure. We're about to take out their comm array- just give the order and we're on it. s**t, wait a minute... incoming unidentified vehicle, approaching at high speed! Someone take that thing out before it rams us!!"

Then the vehicle went boom... and someone jumped out just before the missile impacted. She got another transmission about sixty seconds before she kicked in the door.

"A car just came flying at us from nowhere, ma'am- someone got out before the vehicle was toasted. I got a bad feeling about this... three of us are going to investigate. The rest of us are placing the C4 now before someone else comes along; waiting for your green light to blow the place to Hell, Captain."

Eripse would silently awww as the missle came screaming at her, preforming the very simple.... Tuck and Roll, b***h! Maneuver. Opening door, and flinging herself from the car with forearm up to protect her head, she'd let the car go boom and roll where it will, before getting up and dusting herself off, Small nicks and lacerations healing up in silence.... Before she makes a grand statement.

"Should have learned to use the brakes, I guess.." Before blinking quizzically at the whole lot of them, most likely swarming her by now. She'd meant no real hostile intentions, having finished her own agenda and arrived on the scene. Absently, Sealed flesh would blink open as her eye finishes it's little ressurection, and she reaches up to rub it absently.

((There, changed it. Honest mistake, fixed. I figured something else was coming down the road while you were making your approach... You happy now? stare ))

The three that had come to investigate made sure that they were outside of the enemy's line of fire before approaching Eripse. They quickly surrounded her on three sides, their weapons trained on several vital targets. Evan may know about her, but they did not...

Elsewhere, a very frustrated Gareth is cursing wildly under his breath as he rechecks the address of the legal building. He'd been trapped in crossfire three times already, at least five patrols had halted him and, at gunpoint, asked him his business, and he'd been ambushed twice by roving synthetics...and he hadn't even gotten six blocks away from home yet.

Gareth: "Where's a ********' TANK when you need one?!"

Then something leaps to the forefront of Gareth's mind...that brushed steel case he stowed under his bed, the one that looked large enough to hold something the size of a laptop. An evil grin creeps across his features as he turns around and begins to salvage what he can from the remains of the last ambush group. In particular, he focuses on their armaments, inner wiring, and skeletal structures.

Gareth: "They didn't call my teacher a scrapsmith fer nothin'..."

"Get it done, and be careful out there."

Basically, blow the place to hell and approach the unknown target with caution.

~~~~~~
The child didn't seem to have any one with him, as she received no resistance on her way up the stairs and approached quietly from behind, keeping her senses tuned to everything around her while training her mind on only that which was relevant. He was distracted by her squad.She had a restrainment granade, basically a ball tied to a string which she held. As she threw it at the boy a titanium wire net opened above him. It enclosed around him as she pulled the string back. Even a synthetic human couldn't break a net like this too easily.
"Break through that net and I will kill you, that's your only warning."
Eripse would frown at the three, crossing her arm over her breasts as a scowl of disapproval scrawled her features.
"Is that any way to greet the girly who gave you your window here? Not to mention handled a nine foot tall freaking metal man."
A huff, firm from her lips blows her locks neatly out of her face. Guns had been in her car. She was unarmed, as far as appearances gave her. Darkened talons lifted from breasts, giving a wave. The men would feel a darkness over their weapons, a wrongness... If they chose to pull the triggers, nothing would happen. Combustion failure, anyone?
"I come in peace, take me to your leader?"
