Still hot on his heels. He pulled out his pocket card in the midst of his sprint, his legs nearly jelly beneath him, his lungs burning and his breath coming out in rasps as he read that he was down to his last three. Kiin whispered a curse as he dropped down and slid below a fallen tree, chancing a single glance back at the jabberwock that was charging him. It caught his gaze and reached out, taking a bite at his shoulder.
Not a great idea, but he scrambled back onto his feet and kept going. He wasn't sure how long he could keep running, but he'd go for as long as he could.

She ran until she felt sick, and for the first time in this place she was terrified. It took a moment for her to realize, she wasnt being followed anymore. Her entire body was shaking, her heart pounding, she collapsed to the ground on her hands and knees. Her claws tried to grip into the ground but right now, she was too weak. She just kept there, huddled over, trying hard not to cry... but for now... she had made it.

Once again, SCIENCE came to a fork, and decided to take the Left path this time. A glimmer of something on the ground caught her eye, and she just had time to nab the Second Chance Timer before pelting down the path.

Oh, she definitely remembered this part! Around and behind her, the Jabberwock was doing it's best to destroy the Woods and everything in it. SCIENCE ran before it, and wondered if she'd find herself back at the beginning of the path again.
The Jabberwock grazed her, taking her HP down to a meager 2. Her Pocket Card was sounding a warning.

Coming upon the fork, DreamWatchers eyes darted back behind her to make sure she put a good amount of distance between herself and the Jabberwock at this point. Looking down each path, she narrows her eyes as she saw items. The one that caught her attention was the health potion down the right path. Pulling out her pocket card, she check her health and nods "Yup, that will be my choice." she probably only had a few seconds before the Jabberwock would find her, so she went for the health potion.
Grabbing it, she pops the bottle open and drinks it.
Glancing back down, she smiles when her health foes back up to fifteen. It wasn't much, but it was better then being nearly dead.
Eyes darting back up, she frowns as she heard the Jabberwock close in on her.

DreamWatcher kept jumping as fast as she could, but it seem to her the Jabberwock was growing faster. Screeching, she drops down and rolls to the side, just missing the teeth that nearly took her again. She hissed at it and kept running and dodging it.

Finally! The forest seemed to be thinning a little as he ran like all hell towards that bit of light that he could see just ahead. He didn't crack a smile. He didn't laugh. He didn't really even react, at least not overtly. But he ran towards it, and slowly but surely the footfalls behind him faded away, and the threat was gone.
He tripped over a log as he glanced back to see that the jabberwock had gone, and went rolling and tumbling toward a tree. The impact had little effect on his adrenaline-rushed body. He sucked in air. He sat up and nearly dry heaved. He was sore. Aching. Tired.

((Part 1, Try 3)) Wait a minute. SCIENCE looked around. It took her a second to realize she hadn't beaten the quest, and she started running after the creatures as quickly as she could.
SNAP
Not quite fast enough, but the little Hatter wasn't going to quit anytime soon!
Again, the Jabberwock took away 3 of her health. SCIENCE was beginning to suspect it did that everytime, but wasn't quite curious enough to test the hypothesis.

DreamWatcher was about fed up with this Jabberwock chasing her down, jumping up into the air, she dodge the teeth once again after it took a bite that nearly ended her. Just she land, she rolled so she was off to the side and sprints the other direction away from it.
It was time she acted like the Cheshire Cat she saw, and stayed hidden until the right moment. This time, he wouldn't get her.

She was expecting it, but as she again put some distance between her and the Jabberwock, the voice that called out to her still tempted her to pause and look back.
"Canon!" Riley called. "I've found a red dress I think you'll like. Come here and try it on."
Oh, it was tempting!
"Sorry, Riley!" she called behind her, and kept going. The pain of leaving a friend with something red caused her to lose 2 health, though.

((Part 3/ Try 3)) SCIENCE again took the left path at the fork, and swiped the Second Chance Timer. All the Health Potions in the Woods wouldn't protect her against those bites, but this might let her squeak through.

Again, the maelstrom. SCIENCE ducked, dived, dodged, and ducked as fast as she could, trying to stay out of the Jabberwock's reach.
She was marginally less scathed running through this time. She was so close to escaping, she could taste it! Or maybe that branch that had hit her in the face had belonged to a peppermint tree.

{The Chase: Part 5: Attempt 2}
It took a bit, but DreamWatcher saw the forest start to thin out in front of her from where she was traveling hidden. Glancing back, she took off into a sprint towards the thinned out part of the forest. It was only then did she stop to look back for the Jobberwock. She could hear him, but not as close as before. It seem it lost interest in trying to find her.
Dropping to the ground, she tries to breathe as much air as she could into her body. She was sore, tired and just couldn't move. She heard the ding over her head twice, but ignored it. Instead, she relished int he power rush that floods her body. It was honestly nice, and she knew it meant she survived for another day.
Standing slowly, she glance down at her hands. In them was one fragment, two loot cards, and one card different then all she seen at this point. Stashing the items away, she decided maybe it would be best if she stayed in this part of the forest for now.
