Now that it was actually time to decorate, Jove took his time picking out an ornament. Pale fingers hovered over one shape, and then another, and he debated between the deer and the circle... or the diamond or...
In the end he selected the square ornament. It could be anything, even a foxfire in a box.

With all the supplies laid out, Jove wasn't sure what to grab. Should he take some for his student-pet too? Llyr didn't look like he was going to do much of anything. Was he just in the class to watch?
In the end the pup was more distracted by the thought of what his student-pet was doing in the class, and just settled for grabbing a handful of stuff. It just happened to contain some pipe cleaners, dry smackaroni, and yarn. Maybe if Llyr wanted to play, he could give him some of the smackaroni. It might give him a stomach ache if he ate it, but it would be safe enough. Jove always took good care of his pets.

He He He!--- Douglas was packing away the leftover supplies and ornaments, and though he was used to using the joyful care that all reindeer used when handling Christmas supplies, a few of the ornaments cracked beneath his fingers, much to his dismay.
“Professor Emery,” he said, shuffling over to his mentor and holding up the cracked pieces of an ornament in his hand. “We ought to tell them to be careful, I think the Halloween decorations we bought were a little too much for them. My brother Fraser thought that something like this might happen, you know.” "Hhmm." He stared at the fragments held our to him by Douglas thoughtfully. "Yeah, i was not expecting this... Maybe something with the climate changes?" He curious asked his pupil, wondering what the other deer might think on the subject at hand.
"At any rate..." His ears pricked up, turning towards the students, clapping his hands together to gather their attention. "It seems the ornaments may be fragile, check yours to see if it has cracks on it or not. They might be salvageable!" He turned towards the box, carefully digging around inside. "It seems some of these came out unbroken, if you want to try for a better one be my guest!"Stage 3 Mechanics Okay so... it seems that the Preyons did more than just color students various shades of the rainbow. They also made the ornaments a little more fragile than usual. If not the preyons well, maybe the fear in the air is chipping away at the joy. Either way, some of the ornaments are cracked. So best be careful! You already picked out a ornament so now its time to decorate them! Dont worry, if one breaks theres another to take its place! ---- Roll 1d4, look at the ornament you grabbed earlier to inspect it. 1- Perfect Ornament! 2- Stage 1 cracking... very minor. 3- Stage 2 cracking... a little worse. 4- Busted somehow, grab another. (Roll again) If you wish to keep rolling until you get a perfect ornament, you are free to but you dont have to. There might be a chance at a prize at the end for those who do have a perfect ornament... If you roll a perfect ornament please indicate below your post in bold red that you have. If you do not post this in bold red, i will probably miss it and skip over you! ------ You have the option of coloring your own ornaments! Feel free to color, edit, ETC however youd like. You can make multiples on the different lines if you wish! If you dont want to color one of the ornaments, you are free to write a description of your ornament instead! If your ornament has cracking from the above rolls, there are different layers set to reflect that. Now i know not everyone has photoshop, so there is also the option of PNG's for other programs or for printing out and coloring. perfect ornament get!
After careful inspection of the reindeer-shaped ornament she'd retrieved, Clara couldn't find any cracks or defects with the ornament, so she went about decorating it. Clara glued two smackaroni pieces to make an "eye' for the reindeer. She really couldn't think of any better uses for the smackaroni anyways. Next, she took the tinsel and wrapped it around the limbs of the reindeer and around its neck, giving the reindeer a tinsel scarf. The last thing she did, which she did with a whole lot of regret, was (basically) bathe the reindeer in glitter. There was just too much. And Clara was pretty sure she had to use it. And then she was done. Clara put the deer to the side, refusing to have to look at the monstrosity.

That first one he'd picked up seemed like it was a little iffy, and considering how destructive he was lately he didn't trust himself to be able to decorate it without complete structural integrity.
He tried to stealthily slip it back into the box and rifle around for one in a better condition.

It was hard to be inconspicuous when he was bright red and he jingled, and on top of that the instant he'd taken that new ornament out of the box it had just shattered entirely. Van went back in and looked again, trying to be gentle.
He was really quite awful at this gentle thing.

The next one he got out of the box looked exactly the same to him as that first one he'd set aside, and he was fairly sure that it was just the one he'd put back. He now started a new pile: busted ones he didn't want to take again, and so he could safely dig for a new one without fear of repeatedly taking the same two trashed ornaments out over and over again.

Somehow, Van still ended up with one that looked exactly the same. He was beginning to get suspicious: perhaps square ornaments were just not quite right, perhaps their structural integrity was compromised by their extremely odd shape.
Van was convinced he had a very valid conspiracy theory going on.
Suddenly, as though he was being serenaded by a chorus of Joy carolers Van managed to find the perfect ornament. He held it up triumphantly and then cradled it in both hands, being very careful to work with his buttons and pipecleaners and whatever the hell else he had to work with.
It wasn't pretty, okay.

Focus on the class. Hmph.
The ornament Brenley had chosen bore the brunt of his frustration over his glitter situation, crumbling to sparkling dust in his hand as he squeezed it a little too hard.

Now doubly irritated at both the glitter and his former ornament, he picked another, perhaps not handling it as gently as he ought to have. It joined the first, crumbling to powder before he could get his decorations anywhere near it.

The next one remained intact, but as the reaper reached for the glue, he noticed a number of debilitating cracks along the underside of the ornament. No. That wouldn't do. If he was going to do this, he was going to do it correctly. He set the ball aside and chose another.

He almost didn't see the cracks in the next ornament he chose. It was a deep green that hid imperfections well. Still, it wasn't good enough. He moved on.

He dug his hand deeper into the box, pulling out an ornament that looked noticeably better than the last two. The boil peered at it for a long time, giving serious consideration to giving in and using one that was sub-par, but in the end, his most recent choice was put aside as well.

When he finally chose an ornament that didn't fall to pieces in his hand or have any unsightly cracks, Brenley began to decorate it just as silently as he'd retrieved it, carefully pasting on bells and smackaroni and coating his creation with unintentional glitter in the process. He had intended to keep to the spirit of the holiday town their visitors hailed from in an effort to learn their ways, but somehow his ornament ended up reflecting his mood rather than that of their guests. At least it had been somewhat therapeutic. Carefully cradling his work once it was completed, Brenley finally looked at the ghoul again, considering her for a long moment.
"Dressing a minipet. I can't say that I've ever done that, or that if I thought of doing it now, I would be inclined to use glue." His lips twitched as they seemed to fight their way into a grin, and eventually he laughed softly, shaking his head and poking at his ornament some more. Both hands were riddled with tiny sparkles now. He waved one of them closer to Piper. "This stuff spreads like a disease."Perfect ornament!
