There was something up there, Mnezara realized. Something past those steps, and she found her curiosity getting the better of her again. Step by step, she made her way carefully up the steps, testing each gingerly before she put her weight on the next.
But what was unavoidable was the fog and when it enveloped her, she shuddered to a halt.
They were coming. He knew that, in his heart, with a sort of sick joy - they were coming, and he was the cause of it. Those he had sworn oaths to would die. He had betrayed them, and yet he could not find it in him to be sorrowful. Guilt was gone. There was nothing but emptiness where remorse should be. All that remained was that terrible, trembling joy...

Mnezara clutched her core, breathing heavily. What did it all mean? It certainly seemed more coherent than the voices in the fragments, but it still made no sense.
She stumbled down, and wondered if she was so unnerved by it that she was starting to see faces in the fog. Finally, she reached some even ground, but even then, Mnezara could not breathe easy. Not yet.
An imposing figure stood before her and without even thinking, she swung her weapon at it. You will not kill me!

Mnezara carried on nevertheless, despite the images she was starting to see in the fog. She wondered if it would be better if she could close her eyes, but just then, something latched onto her ankles, and Mnezara frantically chopped away at the mist before it let her go.
1-20: A pair of hands curls out of the fog and grabs your ankles, pulling in different directions before letting go. Ouch! You feel dizzy and like you might fall off your tiny bit of secure footing. Roll again.

And as if that wasn't enough, something clapped over her mouth and Mnezara would have screamed if she hadn't realized it was hindering her breath.
There was more frantic chopping before she was free.

She was just incredibly dizzy at this point, and had to stay motionless for a while before she felt her head clear.

This was getting annoying. Mnezara thought with a scowl, holding her breath and blindly swiping at the invisible arm.

She felt herself falling, and all Mnezara could do was to hold on tightly to her weapon before her descent slowed, and landed safely on another platform.
Her hand closed around one of the red orbs, and she disappeared.
81-100: Something grabs you as you step from one platform to the next. You totter on the edge - and then the edge crumbles beneath you and you fall, too sharp and sudden for even wings to be of use. Who knows how far you'll go. Maybe forever? And yet... Pass!

This figure was good. Too good for him from the looks of it. He might go down, but at least he knew he did his best. Who was he kidding, he was going to be mad as all hell. This isn't some kids show...
