Kyrie caught Miyuki's glance and gave the answer. "Duran."
"Still, that's awfully generous of them," Lancaeriel murmured, looking back at the provisions again. "There's so much ..."
"In all fairness, they did shoot Shiro," Wren pointed out.

"True, but it was an accident," Miyuki murmured, "But on the other hand it sounds like something my grandmother would do if one of my aunts or uncles accidentally shot someone."
Actually, now that she thought about it, it sounded exactly like what her grandmother would do. Except her grandmother would go herself and probably drag her Uncle Yukito along, and then probably fuss over the poor person in question.
She really hoped there wouldn't be any fussing, after all it was an accident.

"Well, it was kind of them, regardless of the situation," Wren grinned. "Lancaeriel, will you need help with preparing things tonight?"
Lancaeriel laughed. "Well, need is such a strong word ... some extra hands wouldn't go amiss, there is going to be a lot that needs watching."
She was already planning the meal in her mind. It was going to be a large one, that was certain. A feast indeed.

"I can help tonight too," Miyuki added.
Since it would get things going faster and helping was a good way of learning, and learning how to cook would be awfully useful.
"The pokeball should be done before then..."
And hopefully work, but she was pretty sure it would.

Lancaeriel's smile widened. "That would be lovely, thank you," she said sincerely. "And if you don't mind, I'd be interested in seeing how your new Pokeball turns out. You've invested quite a bit of time and research into it, after all."
"I'll leave the three of you to it," Kyrie said, turning away from them. "I'll see you later."
And she left the tent.

"Sure," Miyuki had brought it with her.
Though she had left her nib and ink outside, having been distracted by their unexpected visitor.
"Which reminds, I forgot my tools outside, got completely sidetracked there," Miyuki murmured thoughtfully as she took out the ball and handed it to Lancaeriel.
Then again, Miyuki thought it would be a quick errand to get Kyrie, she didn't think she would be so caught off guard as to end up forgetting completely.

Lancaeriel took the orb carefully and examined it from every angle she could, even opening it up and looking inside of it. She was familiar with runes, having used a great many of them herself, and she took the time to look over each one of them, ascertaining their meaning and observing how each would work with the others.
"it looks promising," she remarked with a warm smile, holding the ball back out to Miyuki, "though not quite complete. Now if I recall correctly, you hope to have it finished shortly?"

Miyuki nodded at this as she took the ball back, "Yes, at least have it tested before the day is done."
That way if she had to make adjustments she could make them the next day. Really, they weren't going anywhere for a few days yet and this was only their first day here.

Lancaeriel's smile widened. "Wonderful. If you don't mind, I would very much like to see when you try it out. I would like to see if it works."
It was much out of pride for her pupil as curiosity to see whether it would work, and how.

Miyuki grinned, "I would like that..."
She did take Lancaeriel's thoughts into account, of course, Lancaeriel was her teacher. Even though they didn't do as many lessons as they use to, she still practiced what she knew. The smaller things like making lights, sensing and illusions.
Actually, Miyuki liked illusions far more than she would admit, but runes gave her more to think on. They were like complicated logic puzzles that she understood.
"Though I guess that means I should get back to work, especially if I want to help out with dinner later tonight," she added with a laugh.

"Especially then," Lancaeriel laughed along with her student. "I'm going to be starting on it right away so that the meat gets good and marinated, but later on I would appreciate help with watching over everything. There's going to be a lot to keep an eye on!"
And with that, she turned back to the basket and began to plan the feast that they would be having.

"Okay, I'll see you later tonight," Miyuki replied as she took her leave.
She knew she left her nib and ink outside anyways. It was best not to leave those tools unattended for long. Even though when Miyuki went back to her spot, she saw Ai and Yasu guarding over the items.
"Thanks for keeping watch," she told them and bent down to give each of them a scratch.

Time passed, and as the afternoon wore away towards evening, the travelers continued to keep themselves busy in various ways. Eventually Wren came to talk to Miyuki.
"How's the ball coming?" the tomboyish princess asked with a grin, kneeling down next to where Miyuki was working. "Will it be done in time for you to help out with dinner?"
She held up her hands defensively. "Before you ask, no this isn't me asking, it's Lancaeriel. I think she's about ready for some help."
She gestured over her shoulder to where Lancaeriel was working over three separate fires.

Miyuki had finished a moment ago and was stretching her neck. Seeing as she had done this several times throughout the day (it was hard bending over one's work like that), it was no surprise that Wren didn't know she was done.
"Just finished," Miyuki replied with a sigh of relief, "Just let me stretch a bit more and then I'll be over."
She hoped that as she continued it would get easier, or at least she would remember more and wouldn't have to keep referring to her notes in the future. That did slow down the process quite a bit.

"Sure thing," Wren smiled at Miyuki. "I'll be over helping Lancaeriel. Whenever you're ready, we'll be ready for you!"
She laughed and rose to her feet again, then headed over towards the fires in the middle of the circle of tents to help Lancaeriel with the preparations.
