"That's a shame. I'm always looking for more incantations... I'm sorry I'm not your Elspeth though. I'm not too terribly old, or round, and I more often smell like berries or apples or cinnamon. I can think of a cheese smell-spell though, if it would make you feel at home." She continued to speak, digging through her purse for something.
"I just joined recently too, my mother was saying that I needed to get out of the house and meet new people and stop turning things into things when I wasn't paying attention or painting the couch different colors or having nightmares that would climb from my bedroom and chase around our cat..." She rocked back and forth on her toes, wings still beating absently as she spoke. "Where is that wand..."
"I still haven't found my dorm room, or my roommate, or my classes, or where I left my clothing--there's a bag somewhere with my name on it, I think, but I put it down when I saw this dragonfly and I hppened to wander past here and then I realized I needed an ID card but not before I went and got some ice cream but by then I was far down the street so I came back... I have a dreadful habit of misplacing things." Elspeth nodded earnestly towards Yuki, as if explaining the gravity of her ability to misplace things, expression perfectly serious despite her words.
"Here it is! Now, cheese-smell-spell." Her attention, as it frequently, frequently did, wandered off not shortly after at the sound of someone else, waving to Hikaru. "...I bet you're not an incantation, either, are you?"

Hiro smiled harmlessly, shrugging. "Just wondering," he said. "I think it's pretty strange that the new students have such a range in ages. I'm eighteen," he pointed at Yuki. "And she's sixteen." He paused as he saw Terry's eyes darting between them all and then laughed to himself. "Well, it's been pretty calm around here so far. It seems fights like to randomly break out at times, but we resolved the only one I got in." He nodded, purple eyes narrowing slightly at the sun above. Then he pulled slightly at his black t-shirt and adjusted the sword at his waist. "Never hurts to be prepared," he nodded, tapping the sheathed blade. Then another thought occured to him. "We actually haven't been to the dorms either, or even tried finding classes. There's always people just roaming around randomly. Makes me wonder if there are classes..." he grinned and then looked up. "There is a training room though."
Yuki flinched slightly as Terry glanced at her again, eyes shifting over to a girl in time to see her be surprised by the acceptance droid. She looked back towards Elspeth as the girl spoke to her, eyes widening just slightly. Changing colors and chasing cats? But then she laughed quietly, covering her mouth with her hand. "I'm sure I could sniff it out for you," she offered faintly. "Do you remember what area you left it in?" Yuki paused, watching as the girl's attention switched to another.

Noticing the girl waving at her, Hikaru waved back cheerfully and jogged her way over to the small group.
"Incantation? What's that?" sweatdrop
At that point, Hikaru noticed the wings flapping gently in the breeze behind the girl. Her face instantly lit up with excitement, and she began dashing back and forth all around the girl and enthusiastically poking her everywhere as she tried to get a better look at them.
"Wow! Are those yours? Are they real? Can you really fly with them? That's so cool! Oh, my name's Hikaru! Let's be best friends, okay?"
Quick as a flash, she ended up in front of Elspeth again, a big grin painted across her face and her hand extended for a friendly handshake.

"It's a set of words that you say when you're about to cast a spell.. oh, wait, that tickles, hey, eek, that, that was my.. oh.. wow.." Clearly the general daze of Elspeth was not able to keep up with someone moving so quickly around her.
"I can fly, a little, but I get tired really easily. Father says it's because my mother nursed me with milk and that all milklings get tired really easy when they try to fly, though. Oh my--!" She stumbled back a few steps when the hand appeared in front of her. "Al-alright. Can we go to the zoo?" Elspeth took her hand to shake.
"I remember that there were some kids that were playing basketball when I last saw it. I remember because my camera was in there and I was trying to find my camera and I found a peanut butter and honey sandwich my mom snuck in before I left as a little present... which is really lucky that I needed my camera because if I had decided to put that off for a week or two, it wouldn't be very much of a present at all, would it?"

Hikaru grinned as she shook Elspeth's hand. She'd only been here maybe five minutes, and she'd already managed to make a friend! A best friend, at that. Clearly, this was shaping up to be a very good first day at school.
"The zoo! I love the zoo! We should definitely go there." Hikaru nodded, as if to punctuate her agreement.
As Elspeth began to pontificate about the basketball game and losing her camera, Hikaru's focus began to waver. She was never really good at paying attention to long, rambly stories, so she sort of faded in and out through this. When Elspeth finished talking, however, she made sure to look her in the eyes and make... well, some sort of response, anyway.
"Yeah...! Lucky thing, that!" sweatdrop

An old, rusty car pulled up a few yards from the gate, alittle smoke escaping the hood. It lingered for another moment before an elderly man exited the driverseat and opened to door to the backseat; letting a young girl step out, who smiled up at the elderly man who held the door for her, "Thank you, Grandfather." "No need for thank yous, Alexandra," the man laughed huskily and shut the door once it was clear. "Would you like some help with your bags?" "Oh, no. I'll be fine," Alex adjusted the bookbag that hung over her shoulder and made her way to the trunk of the old car, pulling out a few relatively small bags that presumably held her clothes and personal items. "Alrighty, then. Call me once you've settled down, alright?" the elderly man announced. "Of course," Alex smiled and waved goodbye as he buckled himself up and drove off.
She sighed contently as she started for the gates, her eyes scanning what was beyond the cold entrance that seperated her from the school, "It's awfully pretty he-" "Please let me see your acceptance letter that I may give you your student I.D." Lilith interrupted, her voice monotone and slightly annoying. "Oh, yes. That paper we received in the mail," Alex placed her bags on the ground and began searching through her bookbag, "You mean this?" she pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to the android, who proceeded to scan the paper with remarkable speed, "Welcome to Ria High, Miss Alexandra Epifanio," Lilith opened to gates and handed Alex her I.D. "Thank you. I hope you have a nice day!" Alex replied before proceeding to snatch up her bags and make her way through, but not after making sure to give the droid a kind smile.
She passed a few of the kids that had also just arrived, and others that were just hanging around, "This is definately going to be even more exciting than I originally thought," she waved at of few of the other kids she passed, her smile unwavering.

"You're older, huh?" He said to Hiro looking both impressed and a little sad. "But, well I guess we don't know if we're in the same classes or anything. Fights break out a lot? That, uh, that sucks." He looks at the sword Hiro is patting. "A lot of people fight here?" Damnit dad, what were you thinking sending me here.
"There's a training room though? What kind? Are there sports clubs here? Can freshmen join JV or something?" His face lights up a bit.

Hikaru saw the new girl making her way into the courtyard and past their little group, and waved cheerfully at her. The people here all seemed really friendly. Her smile just grew and grew as she kept interacting with everyone, and she was only filled with more confidence about how great this school was going to be.

Hiro shifted slightly on his feet, wings stretching again in an urge to be used. "I'm sure if you tried it'd be pretty easy to avoid them," Hiro said reassuringly. He noted the boy's almost sad expression but didn't question it. "Sports?" Hiro echoed in confusion. He thought back to the books he'd read about human games and customs. "Uh, I'm not really sure..." he frowned, crossing his arms over his chest. "I know a lot of people come here to train their abilities." He nodded towards Yuki as an example. "She came to tone her ice powers. But I'm sure we could try finding some one who's been here longer and ask them about it."
Yuki blinked in confusion as Elspeth and Hikaru greeted each other, each talking quickly and almost crazily in her mind. They just rambled on and Yuki found it rather hard to follow. She opened her mouth to say something, but then shut it again, looking back towards the ground. She glanced at Terry and Hiro as they spoke and then began nervously wringing her tail between her hands.
She positively jumped as her pointed ear twitched slightly as the old car pulled up. She stared at the vehicle in awe. She'd read about the thing human's called 'cars', but she'd never seen one before. Her eyes followed the girl as she got out and approached, but otherwise Yuki made no move. Hikaru, on the other hand, waved to her immediately. Yuki sighed, frowning at the ground.

Alex's cheerfulness only grew once Hikaru noticed her, maybe she would be able to make new friends. But first she had to settle down and do alittle training, "Work before play, atleast that's what they say," she murmured, and couldn't help but overhear something about fighting- or was it swords? This school was definately more unique than she had originally though. Her gaze shifted to Yuki, and she managed to wave to her also.

Hikaru chanced to notice Yuki staring at the ground. She looked... embarrassed? Depressed? Upset about something? In any case, that wouldn't do! Not on the first day of school in a place where everyone was so nice! She took a few steps toward her, leaning down with her hands folded behind her back to look the girl in the eyes with a big smile.
"Hiya!" she said happily, straightening up and hoping for Yuki's posture to follow suit. "You don't look like you're having a very good time... Do you wanna be friends too?"
She called over to Elspeth, scarcely giving Yuki time to make a decision on her own.
"Hey! Let's be friends with her too!"

Yuki blinked as a girl's scent suddenly appeared right before her. Her eyes widened, staring in surprise at Hikaru. She instantly released her tail and it returned to it's lazy flicking behind her legs. She took a small step back to put more distance between herself and the other female, but somehow managed a small smile. "F-friends?" she stammered quietly. "Um, sure..." She blinked again as Hikaru called over to Elspeth, face tinging pink as the exchange of words.
[She's not a catgirl, but that's fine... I guess my words kind of make her out as one. ^^;;]

"...Are we three best friends? I'm going to have to buy a strange looking necklace..."
She held up her hands in L's to look at Yuki this way and that, head canting to a side. "I think it should be blue. The necklaces. Because I don't think my mother would very much like me getting a tattoo of my friends just yet. I'm only thirteen and that's a very big committment for someone my age. I mean, at least without a ring." A beat. "Should we get friendship rings instead?"

"Abilities? Really? There are more people like...us here?" Terry looks relieved, though he doesn't display any outward signs of being different. "But you don't know about sports teams huh? Oh well." Even though he looks a little more down cast, Terry also seems a bit more relaxed. He really hasn't seemed to notice Elspeth or Hikaru's ramblings, nor the new girl walking over to greet them, but he does steal looks at Yuki's tail every now and again.

Hikaru nodded rapidly at Elspeth's idea.
"Yeah! We'll be best friends! We can hang out together and play frisbee and go to the zoo and all kinds of stuff! It'll be great!"
She listened to El's suggestions of rings and tattoos and necklaces, smiling widely at this idea. She'd left all her old friends behind, and it would be great to have a sort of memento to show everyone how great her new friends were.
As she thought, she paused for a moment, an expression of embarrassment and confusion passing over her face as she looked at Elspeth and Yuki.
"...By the way, what are your names?" sweatdrop
