He did not have to wonder for long, or so he thought, his steps reaching an abrupt halt as he climbed the last step. A wicked smirk spread across his maw, yes whoever you are, you will soon meet the fangs of the raptor.
He could hear it, the voice, did that mean it was behind this door? It must have! Shut up! Whatever it said, it would not stop him, it would not halt his steps. Each word the voice spoke only spurned him onward, driving him toward the source he thought certainly must be near. Kings? What did he care, his king was long since gone, maybe he had always been gone, maybe he had never existed. But Rex did not care, he did not think of it. The voice was behind that door, and Rex intended to find it!

Maple gasped, and then puffed up her cheeks. Pushing forward to take the lead from him on this epic stair climb.

Maple kept on going, very so often looking back down to see where exactly Uru was and how much of a lead she had on him. She gave him a smirk as she kept getting higher than him.

Well, that wasn't so difficult, she thought when she finally reached floor 100. This was just like the Dark Tower back in her fake little home. She turned her head, looking down to wait for the strange creature that she had been racing and tagging along on this adventure until she heard yet another voice.
More annoyed this time, but she could tell it was the same as before. The Voice. The True King. That title again. She frowned, unsure of what it all meant and how it had meant no trouble to them. It had created this world and shattered it, how was that in anyway harmless?
Such a heartless person.

The Voice chose not to speak again, for many floors. The reaper was left alone with his thoughts, left alone to reflect upon the memories that had been implanted into his mind.

He didn't want to linger in this place, so he had dashed up the steps with a quickness that even surprised him. But it was still a long and audacious walk, and when he had hid midway he paused, resting on the wall to get his breath. Jason then nearly fell off when he heard the voice again, the displeasure clear in it's voice. It then occurred to him that he had no ability to fight the voice. How could he, when his mana stone was gone? It was his only means of defense... Senga grunted as he took the staircase two at a time, his long legs burning as he went higher and higher into the gloom. If this was a test of strength or patience, or will, he was determined to reach the top.
After all, the only thing to rival his patience was his need for competition. No one could say he didn't like to win.
