Bruce laughed awkwardly, not really knowing how to respond and just focasing on washing his dishes. making sure every single spot on them was cleaned off.

At a certain point Tony turned his music back on so they could listen while they worked through the stack. Dishes were not the pinnacle of entertainment, but with Bruce to pass smiles at whenever they exchanged dishes it was made a whole lot better. He hummed along to the tune, tapping his socked foot on the floor.

Bruce smiled giving tony a high five with his sudzy hand. “so… its seven thirty.” he prompted, frowning, “you should probably go home soon shouldnt you.”

Tony glanced at the clock, the time bringing down his mood. It was hard to imagine he'd been here for over twelve hours, it certainly hadn't felt like it. He'd much rather stick around for longer, but he didn't want to over-stay his host's welcome either. "Yeah, probably," he admitted with a shy shrug, kicking at the floor.

Bruce grinned, “you just love making me get up early dont you.” he said setteling his hands on tony’s hips. he really was not looking forward to this whole saying goodbye thing. Even though he would see him tomorrow. half of it was the giant family chat he was due to have after tony left… and the other half was, and as stupid as he felt to admit this even to himself. He was going to miss him.

"Well, I could show up later, if that's what you /really/ want," Tony goaded. His skin tingled a bit where Bruce had placed his hands, and he wrapped his arms around the other boy's shoulders to get a little closer.

Bruce frowned at his cousin, “now that is not fair, thats two kisses you interrupted today, i never do that to you do i?” he asked frustrated, “ill come take my talking to like a man in a minute, cross my heart.” he said pushing his way past her and standing in front of the front door waiting for tony to come back out so he could say goodbye.

He got his shoes on in record time, stuffed his music player away in his backpack, along with his notepad (that now actually /had/ notes in it, thanks to Bruce), which was when inspiration struck. 110101. Writing it out just about gave him a handcramp, but it would be worth it, cuz he knew when Bruce translated the binary, the kid would be beaming. He folded the note in half, placed it on his pillow and dashed out to the front door. "Oh well, hi," he grinned at his friend standing there.

bruce sighed, turning around. Here goes nothing he thought to himself as he made his way up the hall and into the living room. “so, he said it was nice to meet you all” he said grinning and scratching the back of his neck, hoping he might get out of this. there was no such luck, he was grilled. Who was this guy, where did he meet him, did he know?, were they having sex, is it his boyfriend, why wasnt he his boyfriend, how can you not know if someone is your boyfriend or not, was bruce sure he was gay(jenn), was bruce sure he was off limits (david), and so many more. It was nine oclock when he finally stumbled into his bed, flopping down, face hitting a piece of paper when he did. he read it, smiling and pulling out his phone, dialing tony’s phone number.

Tony drove home in good spirits, going through his car/garage routine. He stepped into the house, completely unsuspecting that his dad would be anywhere /but/ the lab. He actually /jumped/ when he heard the man's voice. "So how was the Research Facility?" Tony swallowed, put on the spot. "Uhh, it was great," he lied, sweeping a hand through his hair. "Really interesting... and educational," he added, using what he knew was one of his dad's favorite words. "Why didn't you tell me you were shortlisted for an award?" his father was practically beaming at him, which churned his stomach. "I um... I didn't think you'd care all that much..." he mumbled out, this lie a lot closer to the truth. "Of course I care to hear my boy is doing well academically!" Tony felt his shoulders droop. There it was. Didn't care about /him/, just how he was doing academically. "I'm sure you'll get it too, you're a chip off the old block!" Howard said. Tony just nodded; he was sure to disappoint him there. He went on, "I didn't know you had an interest in Biochem. You know, Anthony, that field is in decline, you have to think about your future..." Tony wanted to scream, but instead he endured what became a half-hour lecture. What it came down to was that even when his dad was proud of him, it /still/ wasn't good enough. When he finally escaped, Tony locked himself in the bathroom, spending the next hour puking his guts out in self-loathing. A soft jingle caused his head to lift from his knees and he pulled out his phone, a tiny smile etching onto his lips at the ID. He answered it, trying to disguise the tremor in his voice, "You allowed to make calls after nine o'clock?"

alright well some of that was true, but not enough for him to let the rest of it slide. “tony whatever the hell your middle name is stark, do not make me get out of my bed, put on pants and drive over to your house because belive me i will. I will come over there and i will make you tell me what went wrong and very well might end up making things worse by cuddling you in view of anyone that happened to be around. So tell me what happened so i can get on with comforting you because i really dont feel like putting on any pants!” he said loudly. it really was stupid to try to lie to him, it never worked, and tony should know that because every time he had lied to bruce he had gotten caught. “come on sweetheart, tell me… please, i swear im not going to judge, im just going to listen…”

Bruce's little rampage made him smile, and he nodded, even though the other student wouldn't be able to see it over the phone. "I just let myself get upset is all and shouldn't have," he explained softly, tugging at the little threads on the carpeted bath mat beside him. "My dad doesn't usually employ praise... and..." he sucked in a sharp breath, and shook his head, trying to hold in his emotions. "He makes me feel so worthless...!" he let out a sob.

Bruce sighed, good… he sounded better. “alright well i have a rather large hug with your name on it reserved for tomorrow.” he said smiling, “but i called originally to tell you that you are the most perfect person in all the world.” he said grinning as he glanced back down at all the ones and zeros on the page. “and um. well ive got something to ask you tomorrow.” he said, deciding at the last minute it was something to do in person.

"I hope I get more than one," Tony smiled, looking forward to a big hug, especially after tonight. "Your hugs are like, seriously the best and that's with your rib all busted." His head tipped to the side at that last statement; he didn't have a clue in the world what Bruce would be asking him about, and now he was curious as all get-out. "Seriously? You're just gonna say something like that and not even give me a hint?"
