Kiln was not going to pass up another chance at the card booth. the boil there was so nice to him last time. it wasn't long till a familiar set of eyes were peeking up over the large tables expanse and a single seed was slid over to the stack of card packs.
O---------------------------O ------------------------------P
and the pack was taken away from the set ever so slowly, too afraid to breathe in case the boil manning the station decided to change his mind. but the pack was held close to his tiny frame and ripped open with tiny little fangs at one corner, and all the cards spilled out in a graceless tumble, splayed out over the table.
duds, dupes as far as the eye can see:

1x fear core
1x shun dagger
1x yin
and one pepin
it was the saddest of saddest packs. The little Kofeari had to rubb at his face before the tears began to roll down. fat, warm globs of sadness threatened to stream down the pale face and darken the violet tunic, but the last card slipped out from the foil packing with a light tap to the table.
One shiny Jackizard. in all its shiny pretty glory was staring up at Kiln from the table. The boil made a choking gasp sound as he held the card up to his face, in shock, disbelief at the card staring at him. He turned to ace.
And gave the boil to brightest grin in the land. it was all thanks to him that he got the god card. "Thank ye kindly sor!" he quipped up, accent thick and voice raw from the normally quiet boil as he clutched it for dear life. and paused, in thought.
and slid the card back to Ace, and let it go. It was the only sign of friendship he could give to the elder boil.

'Just be sure you pay it' Ace mocked Enzo's voice in his head and had to fight every muscle in his face from making any snide expressions. The pampered demon waited for him to fill out the form and raised a brow. "Aye, and don't be making me need to mark you on that promise," he said leaning closer to take the other's hand. "You have to actually produce us some sales, yanno."
Jerry's golem was lucky to find a shiny hellma and Ace glanced away from Enzo just long enough to conduct the trade with 'her.' "Enjoy-" he said dryly after handing her the miniprize.
While he watched all of these other students approach and leave with their cards intact he gave a smug roll of his shoulders back towards Enzo. "What's fantastic is they don't get dismayed by not finding anything. It drives them to come back and that is the beauty of Halloween Heroes." Not really. The beauty was having a masterful deck and winning championship titles but you know, who needed any of those? wink
Of course he should have NEVER opened his mouth because Aymet seemed to assault him both in his hug and in his heart. Ace remained in a daze while he was pretty sure his lungs were being impaled. Did he just get a Jack Skellington? Why was he- wait NO DONT GO NO
The magic and wanderlust in Ace's misty eyes went out like a light when the lich decided to keep the card. Damnit.. Hey he wasn't a greed demon for nothing. Despite owning at least five of the things now, Ace could never get enough. Just like this booth.
At least when Melvin approached him he aroused a question that Ace couldn't help but answer with guru-like interest. "Aw man do we~ Yea, there's so many tournaments each year for Halloween Heroes it gets kinda crazy. The prizes are pretty crazy too, we're talking like barrels of seeds and some artist signed cards and s**t." The boil eyed Yin as he passed by and snickered cruely at the false hope he was getting in his eyes. Then of course there was Bella who pulled a holo Y2. "Yea s'not the most rarest but it works, heheh," he granted her a token and pressed on.
Sin was a new face to the booth and Ace gave her a slightly warmer welcome as such. She could pass for his babysitter back when he was a little greedling. "Remember to come back later for more ya?" he winked.
Hey he recognized that little welp who approached his booth. Aw jeez AW JEEZ-
"Aw Jeez do- don't uh-" Ace nervously tried to reach out for Kiln. Even HE ALMOST STARTED CRYING! Why the Ja-

And what happened, then? Well, in Halloween Town they say - that Ace's small heart grew three sizes that day. And then - the true meaning of Halloween came through, and Ace found the strength of *ten* Aces, plus two! No really, natural greed demon instinct was challenged here as Ace actually considered denying the boil the gift. Instead, he took it gingerly and mouthed 'for me?' then furrowed his brows and pat Kiln gently on the hand. "Thank you," he said. Oh man Ace said a real genuine thank you errbody. "Here-" Ace actually grabbed a third token and dropped them all in front of the boil. And then Alex proceeded to cry.

Enzo smirked as he watched the students flood the display of cards with appreciation, nodding and taking note of Ace in Action. He was about to excuse himself when a certain portion of the conversation drifted through his large ears. "Barrels of seeds? What's it, like Poker?" As the demon was suddenly mowed down by an enthusiastic patron, he took a moment to fish for a pack for himself. He didn't leave any pay. They had a new partnership brewing, guy wouldn't mind a little bonus. Once Ace was somewhat alone again, staring at some card in his hand, the little Reaper shifted around to try to peer over his arm at what was so great. It was certainly shiny enough, had to have been some sort of good card. He popped his own open, "Sounds like a keen caper you got your eye on. All that Jack just for a card game," His voice dipped down, "Now is that just a sellin' line or you on the up and up? If I 'aint mistaken, you're a big six at this."
He shifted back to shuffle through what cards he got.

Yuki had walked up to the TCG booth, his interest perking. Tonight, he'd tried video games and board games. Collectables, however, he liked the idea of. Even if he couldn't play very well, there was still the trading and the general satisfaction of completing a set. He was pleased to get a free booster pack and the ghost boil thanked the demon kindly before working to delicately open the top seal in order to get the cards out but still have the package to put them back into once he saw what he had.

Sin was back with a sultry little smile for the Demon at the Booth, she like Greed Demons, Lust Demons, Other Succubi and Inccubi really to her they were all like family, demons had to look out for one another's best interests right? She took another pack of cards and carefully opened it again sorting her cards out by rarity and then glancing over them.

She wasn't surprised by the amount of commons she had drawn out but then her eyes widened and she stared at not one but TWO Mega Rare Cards. She inspected them carefully and then turned then around in her palm before biting her lip. She really didn't have the heart to turn them in to the greed demon, but then again greed demons did love rare things. If she gave him one she could secure a potential ally for the future...or a friend...she had to remind herself that she didn't want to be a snob anymore and friends were better than allies. Sin took a deep breath and eyed her two rarest cards, Jack Skellington...that was just wow, how could she give that up? Yet Arel was a Demon, he had been through thick and thin with most of them and she had a feeling Arel had kept them safe in the worst of times...like Red...that was one card she would never trade. She looked at the holographic image of Red and quickly shut her eyes, it wouldn't do to cry and have her ma-scare-a run.
No, no she just couldn't do it, she couldn't trade in any of these cards, it seemed she'd been hit by the collector bug and so she carefully tucked them back in the pack and decided she'd need to find some protective sleeves for them at some point.
