Ryudo's red eyes scanned the bar, and came to rest on Sutiiven. They seemed to bore into his own as they looked at him. His mouth barely moved as he spoke, the words almost whispered in a dark tone.

Do I frighten you child...?

Sutiiven did not blink as he looked at the man sitting before him.

"Should you?"

His words were almost defiant as continued to watch the man. He had the polar opposite of the feeling that he sensed when he was around... but again, that was ludicrious. There was no way the two of them could be even remotely connected... or could they?

That...is at your own discretion... But to feign courage where none lies... That is a fool's act...

The darkness was evident in his tone, plain as the red of his eyes. But the message his words carried was wise. Intelligent, dark, two disconcerting and conflicting traits...

"Well then... it is a good thing that I am not a fool." said Sutiiven calmly, closing his eyes and allowing a smile to come on his face. "Death awaits the overconfident... that is a hard lesson I have learnt in my life. But I have also learned to not let fear control my life."

He opened his eyes and stared the man down.

"Can you say the same for yourself?"

The man chuckled darkly. Anyone who knew the man would see he was enjoying this little chat...

Foolishness is best determined by those other than oneself, for one tends to be biased in their own favor...
PostPosted: Sat Mar 10, 2007 6:33 pm

"True enough..."

He leaned in towards Ryudo.

"However... people can be manipulated and swayed by their emotions... greed... naievity... cowardice... with so much confusion running about in the psyche of one person to the next... how can you be sure that the information on such... delicate matters... is honest?"

He leaned back in his chair. If this guy wanted a fight, Sutii would give him one - intellectual or otherwise.

The true test of one's intelligence comes from controlling said factors, and the ability to think on one's feet without being clouded by such irrelevant trials and tribulations...

Ryudo's red eyes seemed to search Sutiiven's own as he spoke.

Without want of material desires, there is no greed. Those who seek knowledge are not naive. And those that have knowledge...are not cowards... One, who has all of these things...can be honest to the point of brutality...

"Hm... I see. Well then. Allow me to be blunt - you are an arrogant b*****d that, while wise and intelligent, does not understand Humans as well as he may think. I can feel the dark power flowing from you, in all of its intensity. For that I respect you. However - if you think that my courage is not genuine, that my ability to think on my feet is not swift and without bais, that I, like many others you have undoubtedly met, am nothing more than a pathetic fool who cannot control his emotions, his desires, his very destiny..."

Sutiiven took a deep breath, closing his eyes again.

"If you think that... then you are sorely mistaken."

His eyes snapped open.

"Of course. Now I know why you remind me so much of him..."

As long as we are being honest, child, I despise humans. They are a filthy race of creatures that are slowly destroying this world and choking it slowly as they spread. Of all Mother Gaia's creatures, humans are the most useless, and the most destructive.

The man kept calm, as if Sutiiven's insults had unaffected him in any way. And to be honest, they hadn't in the slightest. Ryudo was not a man who was quick to anger, at least not anymore...

Perhaps, if you looked at it from my perspective, stepped outside your own views and experiences...you too would understand how I feel. Surely the slaughter of women, children, life in general makes you sick to your stomach. And it does me as well... Needless death is irrelevant.

Human beings have caused a myriad of problems since they arrived on this planet, and they have slaughtered millions of innocent creatures for the evil doings of a few. You believe yourselves to be superior to all life on this planet, and you forget your place as one of Mother Gaia's creatures, assuming you can rule over it all without consequences.

I will not lie to you child, I've killed humans far younger than you on a blood filled quest for revenge, fueled by fire and hatred for your sickening species. But it took hundreds of years for me to see that coexistence is the only way that all of Gaia's creatures can live in peace.

Do not lecture me on human beings, child. I know far more about them than you may think...

His voice was cold, dark, dangerous in some cases, but it was still low, failing to put across any strong emotion. As dangerous as this man was, he knew more than many would believe.

"Hehe... you fell for the bait."

Sutiiven smiled. An honest, earnest smile, his eyes showing the gentleness in his heart.

"You argue well... but in the end I never intended to win the argument. I wanted to look into your heart. You put on a strong, cold, emotionless facade... but deep inside, you do have feelings and emotions. Just like him..."

He paused slightly.

"Wouldn't he be pleased? Oh, I dont know. I honestly dont know how well you two get along. But your spirit. Its all the same. A means without an end. He uses it for protection, you do not. What do I care if you are wrong or right. You are a living creature, just like every single one in this universe, and probably any and all others out there."

Sutiiven paused again, turning solemn.

"What I'm trying to say is... you're not perfect either."

Not once did I claim to be, child... And all living beings have emotions. Either way, I can sense that you have a desire to fight me... You have since I walked into this establishment... If you feel you are up to the challenge, I shall await you outside...

With a nod to Damrius that said, "We'll talk later." Ryudo got up and left the bar, taking up a position in a wide open area of the street...

"Heh... so you noticed. Not that I didn't enjoy our little chat."

He got up from the table and crossed outside, stopping at a certain point as the man kept going to assumably the spot at which he would start the fight.

"Before we fight... who are you? You remind me a lot of someone I know... which explains the random comments in there, though I'm sure you figured that out by now."

Ryudo Kazamaru... And I already know who you are, Sutiiven. In fact, I probably know more about you...than you do...

Ryudo looked strange standing there in the sunlight, he still almost looked as if he were cast in shadow. Somehow he seemed to look darker, whereas Ryugi would have appeared lighter. And the fact that he carried no weapons, would throw off most fighters from the beginning, especially since he did not appear to be extreme physically in shape...

[2] "Hm... so you are related to Ryugi. I wasn't expecting it by blood, necessarily, but I knew that was an option. No matter, nothing but simple curiosity."

He shifted into an en-guard position, leaving his weapon sheathed in its scabbard on his back. "Your brother beat me when we last met. Perhaps you will do the same? Only time will tell."

He then rushed at Ryudo at a full clip, shouting -

"SHOW ME WHAT YOU'VE GOT!!!"

- after which he came in with a rear thrust kick to Ryudo's chest.

What Sutiiven would find odd would be that in the moment that he dashed, Ryudo stood still. he did not make any perceptible motion at all, even as he closed the distance... 40...35...30...25...20...15 feet and still no movement from Ryudo. Then, at 10 feet, as Sutiiven would spin around for his thrust kick and his head would turn away from Ryudo, his shadow would flare across the ground and a wall of solid shadow energy would erupt into the air, blocking Ryudo from view, and stopping the thrust kick harmlessly...

In that same instance, the wall would attack. As Sutiiven's momentum would send his move crashing into the wall, the surface of the wall would erupt outward into a massive clawed hand that aimed not only to grasp Sutiiven, but in the same motion, slam his body into the ground with terrible force...
