Menolly was enjoying herself greatly because she was being helpful to Wolfwood. Holding on to the thyme she was given she listened to every word he said, only asking, "Tell me when to stop." He said a little of it and she wasn't sure if he meant all of what she had, or a little of what she had. Taking the thyme she begain plucking each tiny leaf and putting it into the same bowl as the rosemary.

"What you've got there should do it," Wolfwood told her with a smile, watching her work while he plucked some sage leaves and got out a cutting board to chop them up on. Rolling the leaves together gently, he grabbed a big chopping knife and started to slice the rolled leaves, producing little curly q's of sage. When he was finished, he used the knife to scoop up the herbs and dumped them in the bowl along with the rest.

Menolly finished her task, laughing very lightly at the scent that was now on her hands because of the herbs. "I'll end up smelling like the chicken." She wasn't complaining, in fact she found it funny.

Wolfwood chuckled and gave her a wink while he retrieved a lemon, a grater and a sprig of fresh parsley. "Not like that's a bad thing," he observed, tearing up the parsley then grating some lemon rind into the bowl.

Menolly giggled slightly at the wink and nodded, "Nope, not a bad thing." She didn't see it as smelling like food, raither the food smelled nice so she would. Throughout the cooking process, she watched him and made mental notes as to what he did for future reference.

When Wolfwood judged there to be enough lemon rind, he cut the lemon in half and squeezed the juice from one of the halves, disregarding the seeds since this was just a marinade for the chicken and not a sauce. Then he started to add the oil, eyeballing it while whisking everything together with a fork. When he was done, he slid the bowl over to Menolly and said, "I need your opinion on the taste. So dip your finger in there and try it, tell me what you think." ^^

Menolly did as she was asked, putting her finger in the bowl and bringing it up to her mouth. Placing the figure in her mouth, she sucked on it a second to get all the flavor off before pulling her finger out, "Yummy!" came her responce, that stuff really did taste well.

Wolfwood grinned and turned to dig through his refrigerator for the chicken breasts he knew were in there. "Good. I'm glad you approve. It wouldn't do at all if you didn't like it," he said as he pulled the white paper-wrapped package out and set it on the cutting board he had used for the sage.

Menolly just smiled, feeling so lucky to find someone that was so conciderate towards her. She watched him get a paper-wrapped package from the refrigerator and just waited. She was starting to feel the unhappyness from the lenght of time between touching him; however, as an adult, and with effort, she was able to fight it off and remained happy.

Almost as if he could tell she was getting antsy for contact, Wolfwood reached over and grabbed her hand, giving it a squeeze. Then he smiled at her and withdrew his hand so he could open the package and take out the two large chicken breasts. Carefully, he set the cuts off meat on the cutting board then crumpled up the paper and threw it away.

Menolly smiled brightly at Wolfwood, feeling better again after he held her hand. She watched what he did carefully. She wanted to have an idea of how to do this in case she needed or wanted to do it herself. With Wolfwood around, she didn't think she'd do it herself, but it didn't hurt to learn.

Wolfwood noticed her watching and smiled, moving to grab a filet knife. Then he started explaining what he was going to do. "First, I'm going to cut the chicken into strips. But I'm not going to slice straight up and down. I'm going to cut at an angle to get the largest possible flat surface so you can really see all the herbs and the grill marks," he said, doing it while he said it.

Menolly nodded at what he said, putting all of it to memory as she watched him further. There was a lot of detail to this, and she was sorry she asked for something that made him do so much work. Quitely she just kept her observations.

Wolfwood glanced up from what he was doing to Menolly's solemn face and smiled, reaching over with his tail and tickling her nose. "Don't you dare regret asking me to make you this. It's not as intricate as it looks," he informed her while he set the strips of chicken in the bowl and made sure to thoroughly coat them with the marinade. "Alright, that needs to soak for a few minutes. So let's go sit on the couch, shall we?" he suggested, turning to wash his hands with soap and warm water.

Menolly giggled as her nose was tickled, nodding she said "Alright." She listened to what he said and would not regret it now. As he suggest them going to sit on the couch. "Okay" was her response and she nodded as she reached out her hand for him as she went to hop off of the counter.
