Vic crossed his arms "that wouldn't be wise, you've locked yourself in here. Many of the chemicals I have in here are toxic and unstable. Most of the stuff in here is old, start smashing stuff and the accumulated dust will suffocate you if the unstable chemicals don't catch fire and burn you alive." He stood up straight and leaned against the wall "tell me why you really came here."

Perhaps she didn't make it clear that she intended to take them both out if she felt she had to. Better to take her own life than to let her superiors get ahold of her.
She sighed and dropped the metal pole. She'd try the truth instead. "I'm quite offended that you don't believe my love potion story." She started. "I'm here for various reagents. Hallucinogens, sedatives, paralysis inducers, etc."

Vic nodded and lightly pushed the bottles aside, he then reached under the counter and pulled a large dark bottle, a old coffee can, and a small vile filled with green liquid. "The bottle is a liquified compound that is drawn from several breeds of Amazonian tree frogs, a small dose can cause drowsiness, larger doses will cause the subject to sleep from six to ten hours." Vic pushed the can forward and dipped his gloved hand in and drew out a fine blue powder "powdered petals from a mountain flower in Tibet, causes psychotropic hallucinations, it tends to wear off after a few hours, but depending on metabolism, it could last less or longer." Finally he held up the tiny vile "distilled snake venom from Egypt, acute and instant paralysis, if you were to swallow a spilled drop on your finger, you'd be frozen before your head struck the floor."

The scientist looked at the various items. These were all the things she needed... if they worked.
She let out a sigh, rolling down her sleeves and setting down the pole. "Who told you about me?"

Vic shook his head "no one told me anything about you, I don't even know your name. I only know what your body language told me." Reaching down behind the counter, Vic lifted a small box with mice, no doubt the woman was still suspicious of him, so it was only fair he'd give her a demonstration.
Hold one of the mice in his hand, he held the bottle up just enough for the mouse to take a drink from the tip. He then set the mouse down on the counter, it moved lazily before curling up and falling asleep.
The second mouse was picked up, with the residual powder still on his glove, Vic lightly tapped the mouse's nose with his finger. The mouse started to struggle and squeak. It began to squirm more and squeak loudly before Vic set it back into the box with the other mice.
The last vile and mouse were held in his hands, dripping the tiniest drop from the vile onto the mouse's mouth, Vic watched the mouse's body lock up. Its body went rigid, only the movement of its panicked eyes gave away that the mouse was real and alive. From a distance it would've looked like a furry toy.
After his demonstration, Vic deposited the sleeping and paralyzed mice into the box containing the other mice, looked back up at the woman and spoke in German, asking if she was satisfied with the products "ja zufrieden?"

She sighed moving to unlock the shop. "You might want to be careful who you show that trick to. You could get yourself and the person you show it to killed," she warned.
Feeling a little more comfortable she watched as he demonstrated on the mice. His speaking her language made her scoff. "Let me guess, you also have magical powers right? Lift that book off the shelf over there with your mind."

Vic nodded "I understand, I have... disturbed people with my observations." He poured the larger bottle's ingredients into a normal sized bottle and corked it, he scooped up a few cup fulls of the powder and poured it carefully into a bag, he left the small vile out. "I suggest you be careful what powers you wish to test in this shop."

Pamela rubbed her temples and shook her head. "I'm sorry. I've been extremely rude. You just caught me off guard. I thought you were... well it doesn't matter but I'm sorry. My friend told me you were an odd one but I thought she meant psychotic not observant." She held out her hand. "I'm Pamela, pleased to meet you."

Vic reached out and took Pamela's hand "Victor Sage, Doctor. Odd... one of the more polite words I've been called." He looked down at Pamela's palm, his thumb caressing the lines "you're prefer lab work to field work, your hands are delicate, untouched by fire arms probably a phobia to them. Explains why you went for the iron rod rather than the loaded musket that was leaned against the wall beside it. Your muscles are tense, it could be from the stress acquired in this room or could have already existed." He reached out and pulled a long strand of hair off the collar of Pamela's blouse "you came from the Purple Princess, having met with Helena Bertinelli, the business woman. Did she recommend me?"

This man would be amazing at parties. She stammered a bit. "I-wh- How did you know I was a doctor? Why not caberet girl? Or secretary? Or waitress?" She kept herself from rambling. Oh, God! He probably knew her age as well if he knew all that.
She gave a light blush at Victor's touch. It was innocent and still bold. He interacted with her as if she was any other person. Most men were incapable of that. She blushed deeper. "I-I'm not afraid of guns, they just terrify me! There's a huge difference, "she poorly defended herself."
His mentioning her stress made her roll her shoulders in slight pain. She was beginning to wonder if he wasn't an actual supernatural creature himself...
"She did." Was all she could mutter.

Vic shook his head "caberet, secretary, and waitress would have no need for these toxins. Much less know about them from their line of work. You a scientist, your hands are too soft to be a military engineer." He nodded and pulled something off the shelf above the counter, a normal human skull inside a glass case.
The skull's eye holes were more narrow, the nose was deformed, and several of the teeth with larger and pointed. "I helped her once before with a vampire problem, she didn't believe at first either. Do you require a more visual demonstration of my work to believe?"

She laughed. "Those three women would need these items the most!" She waved off his compliments. "I wear gloves. Alot."
She took a step back. Just in case. She shook her head. "No, but..." She held her hand out. "Tell me how I'm going to die. Tell me who did it and why."

Vic nodded "they know what they want, but not what they need." He looked back at Pamela's hand "yes, hence why your hands are so smooth. I can read who you are, who you used to me, and who you really are, I can't read your future just my looking at your hand." He held his hand out to a bookshelf, like he expected someone to hand him something, his face was still pointed at Pamela as he spoke the Latin word for 'Come'. "Venit!"
A large book flew off the bookshelf and right into his awaiting hand "very well, I promise I will try to not startle you further." He opened the book and drew a pen out from inside his vest and wrote down the ingredients he was selling with a basic description of the woman he was selling them too. A tall and rigid female redhead asked for paralysis snake venom, blue hallucinogenic powder, and tree frog sedative. He rung the woman up on the register "how do you wish to pay?"

She pouted and crossed her arms. "Now I know you're lying. You know you just don't want to tell me!"
She sighed pulling out a wad of money. "Cash, of course." She looked at him suspiciously. "You can't write anything down about me. Say I was hideous with warts or something."

Vic shook his head "I need the description to remember you, its vague enough for an outsider, but detailed enough for me to remember you if you come back in need of a refill. I have a good memory." He reached out and counted the money, taking only four dollars while giving the rest back to Pamela "be sure to come back if you need further assistance." He closed the book and held it out, "Redire" the book flew from Vic's hand and placed itself back into the bookshelf as if it never moved.
