Tedan moved slowly away from their "start point" or whatever to start searching but he hadn't even gone a few feet yet when he was distracted by what he thought was another clicking noise. He spun around, shining the flashlight around. Nothing.
Swallowing nervously, he kept going.

s**t! There it was again. He hissed softly and spun around again - nearly slipping and falling on his a**. "This is seriously creepy," he muttered when he saw nothing again. And heard nothing.
What was that mysterious clicking noise anyway?

Poor, poor puppy.
Eva decided it would be in her interest to follow the teen around, hovering over his shoulder like a nosy and overprotective mother as he scanned the area for a weapon tablet. When he successfully found one of the tablets--along with a piece of...something else--she gave him an approving pat on the head.
"Good job, Puppy! Let's go back to where everyone else is gathered, and--oh!" Grabbing the end of her scarf, she shoved it into Otto's free hand, closing his fingers around it, "You can hang onto this and follow me if you're scared," She whispered loudly, "Just don't pull too hard, okay?"
She was trying to help you, Otto. Really.

Wait. There! Something in the water ... Tedan bent down to pick up whatever it was and then frowned. Damn. Not a tablet. Hmph. Well, he'd found something, might as well keep it?
He shrugged and stuck the thing into his pocket then moved on, still searching.

Vanessa picked her way down the stairs with the other hunters, looking down to keep from tripping. She really was glad that she'd worn her combat boots today. When they'd gotten down, it seemed it was time to look for the tablets. Volt half-laid across one shoulder, Vanessa turned on her real flashlight. Volt's electrical chamber could only shine so much light on the situation (althought he actually was rather good for an emergency flashlight, really). She stepped around through the wetness, feeling it trying to seep into her boots, and started looking.
Her foot tapped against something, and she reached down, pulling whatever she'd felt free from the water. She stared at it, brushing the side of it with her finger. How long had it sat here in this cavern? Would this someday be her?
Quietly, she pocketed the shattered piece of something, wrapping it in some tissues and placing it in a pocket. At least she could give it a proper burial somewhere else. Somewhere that wasn't here.

Bix caught sight of something shiny. The tablets weren't shiny, at least not the one he already had, but who knows what he could be picking up.
The albino hunter turned it over in his fingers. It was strange, bone like maybe? It wasn't the only one littered around either. Instead of keeping it, he dropped it back into the water.

Fini just sighed heavily, rubbing at her face quickly. More of an exasperated gesture than anything tired. Glancing at Tori, she gave her a nod of understanding. Well, she still didn't trust the man that they were 'following'. Probably something wise from the sounds of it. And she decided to keep her thoughts between herself and Vashi regarding the Death Lead.
"Wait, so this isn't the first time this has happened?" A pause. "Or the last?" Fini inquired of Bix, filling in the answer for herself just based on the looks of everyone else. And hearing his response to another.
Annnnd now they had to find s**t? In the dark. With only flashlights. And a missing leader. Fan-friggin-tastic!
:: Best get used to it, precious. We're in this together now. ::
Right. With a heavy sigh again, Fini pulled out her flashlight and started to search around carefully while sticking close to Tori and Bix. Or close enough anyways. Oh. Oh hey what was that? Moving off to the side slightly and crouching down, Fini examined what she thought might be a tablet. It was a dull yellow-white in color and sort of brittle to the touch. And was unfortunately not what she was looking for.
"Damn."
:: Maybe the next one will be what you seek. :: Vashi offered lazily.

Vanessa continued to feel around in the water near the wall with her boot's toe, the flashlight illuminating the surface. Perhaps she'd find something else, something less chilling, here?
No such luck. Again she found something small, yellow-white in color, against her foot. She pulled this one from the water as well, wrapping it up in tissue before placing it in her pocket. She'd bury this one as well, once she was outside. No one should have to spend an eternity down there. Not even in pieces.

Maybe she was just being stubborn now. But Fini wanted to find a damn tablet! She moved as slowly as she dared - losing the group was definitely not an option - shining her flashlight here and there while she searched.
:: Why are we searching for them anyways? ::
:: I'm not sure to be honest. :: But that was what they were to look for so that's what she was doing. Besides, focusing on that kept the small part of her mind that was disliking being within this cave from overreacting.
"Ugh, what the ******** is that smell?" Fini raised an arm to her nose, glowering at the ground. Whatever it was, it was absolutely disgusting smelling! Flashing her light around didn't help either. There was nothing on the ground. Just that awful smell.

She stumbled over something, still trying to get that scent out of her nose. Gawd had that been so awful! And now the chill was getting to her, making her shiver. Bah this sucked! Wait, what was that? Fini glanced upwards, shining her light. There weren't bats up there...were there?
:: Are you going to tell me you're afraid of a little winged creature? :: Vash mused, a low rumble surrounding Fini's mind.
"Oh hush." She muttered, looking down towards the ground again. No surprise, she didn't find anything. But her stomach flip flopped as once again that scent hit her nose. Oh <********> this!

Vanessa focused her light downward again, scanning through the murky water as best she could. She took another step, and her toe caught on something she hadn't seen near the wall. The force of her movement dragged it forward, and she angled her flashlight over it. She reached down and pulled it from the water, looking over it critically.
It was a weapons tablet.
She felt the heft of it in her hand, the cool surface, the weight. It wasn't that impressive, on the outside, but she knew what it could become. She knew it would someday become someone's greatest ally, someone's greatest...friend.
"Do you think they can hear us?" She silently asked, looking at the tablet with an expression that most people wouldn't find on her face often; softness.
:: I don't think so...? :: Volt mentioned, his thoughts slipping around her mind with a gentle static-noise. Finally, another question poked into her mind, :: Am I really your greatest friend? :: It came in soft voice, tentative as if he was both curious but at the same time she that would retract her answer and leave him fumbling in her mind for letting himself think that she actually liked his company.
Volt finally got his answer. Vanessa patted him softly, and thought back, "Occasionally, you infurate me beyond belief, but you know, I don't think I'd take any weapon over you. You are, and will always be, my companion."
With that thought, she looked back to the tablet in her hand, pulling the last of her tissues out and enveloping the tablet in them. Then, she carefully stowed the tablet in one of her bigger pockets. She didn't want it getting damaged. Was this how Volt had been found? Or had he been there, in that cove, for what would've seemed like an eternity?

Madison swallowed her anxiety and forced herself to fan away from the group, flashlight beam sweeping across the water covering the floor. She tensed as she thought she heard that odd clicking again, the light jumping slightly with that tension... but surely it was nothing? Surely she had been imagining it, or it was a Hunter footfall or something easily explained. Had to be.
She quickly glanced at the FEAR sensor on her wrist before taking a deep breath and steadying herself, renewing her grip on the flashlight and shuffling forward through the water once more.

She jerked her head back sharply as something foul hit her nostrils - a stench damp and heavy, redolent with decay. The flashlight beam snapped out as she searched the water around her for the source, still carrying the flashlight in one hand and one of Kouki's blades in the other.
... Nothing. At least, nothing she could see...

A few more footsteps forward, and she'd lost the foul scent entirely - but something glinted at the edge of her flashlight's beam. She hurried over to it, sheathing her blade and then bending to scoop the item up. But it wasn't a weapons tablet... instead, it was a bit of curved, ivory... what was it? Bone? She couldn't be sure, but it put her in mind of bone. The edges were sharp and uneven, as if the piece had been forcibly shattered out of a greater whole.
It made her oddly nervous, but she tucked it away just in case.

Before quietly did as Sandy instructed, namely to make sure his FEAR scanner was turned on, and followed Eva's lead in searching. "Nope, nothing he-" he paused, hearing the clicking again. 8CCCCCC
