Riordan nodded to Loa. "True. So, I stand by my first decision." He said calmly, "To the dungeon." He then smirked to Jody, "If you're telling the truth, which I highly doubt, consider this help. No one would think to look for you into a dungeon. And even if they did suspect, no one would willingly go into a dungeon to find you."

Jody smiled at Riordan and allowed himself to roll his eyes that time. "Thanks ever so much," he said, looking Riordan in the eyes again. "Well, since I'm going to the dungeon anyway, I have a question, your highness. What exactly is the point of having a monarchy if not to use the law to get rid of backward societal tendencies faster than any representative government could?"

۞Demitri Conrad۞

Demitri made his way back through the castle. He didn't know if they would still be where the incident report had stated but he figured he may as well check. He walked quickly yet kept his pace so he wouldn't seem as if he was rushing anywhere. As the group came into view he raised an eyebrow at the sight. They were gathered around in some form and then he caught the glint of the Prince's sword blade. The primate resting on his shoulder vanished as he brought his hand forward and collected forth the magic needed. After a wave of his hand the sound of paws thudded down the hallway. There was a low growl as the jaguar moved at Jody. Its dark black fur stood in stark contrast to the teeth it now bared at the intruder. "Your Royal Highness, Is there a situation?" Demitri asked as he finished walking forward and stood next to his summon.

((Sorry Vamp, I don't know how I missed your post))

Riordan glanced towards Demitri. God, he hated that man. Not that he could say a damn thing about it. "No. No situation at all. I believe you have other things you could be doing." He then glanced at Jeremy. He knew that Jeremy and Demitri hated each other. He knew that Jeremy would help him. He then looked back to Jody. "I'm trying to change things. But having either a spy, or a very poor thief and or assassin sneaking in, slows things down." He grabebd Jodys collar and pulled the man close enough to whisper, "If you can give me a good reason for being here, a real reason, or give me some kind of useful information I may just let you leave."

Jeremy noted Riordans pleading gaze. "Demitri, so good to see you. I have some things I need to speak with you about. The Council once again slammed a door in my face while I was merely trying to inform of them of the neccesity for equal rights and freedoms to be granted to Beastials. It must be remembered that in other countries, such as Magnae Silvea and Incolumitas, humans are not the dominiant race." He said giving a sarcastic smirk, "In fact, humans are the minority, and in Incolumitas, Beastials are equal to everyone else. Should our country not take that as a sign? That we could do the same." he said keeping himself in front of Rose. If she knew the kind of man Demitri was, he was worried that she would raise issues with him.

Loa stiffened when she heard Sir Conrad (Not sure what title was appropriate, so this is just how she thinks of him) approach. She could sense the mans animosity for her, and as any instictual creature would, felt animosity in turn. Keeping her sword trained on the man her prince now had in his grip, she flickered her gaze at Sir Conrad. "Sir." she murmured, inclining her head. There was only one man she feared in this castle. She feared the king would send her away from the prince, but not for herself. but this man... This man could and easily would kill her. She knew it. He just needed a reason. Loa glanced back at Jody. Her prince was speaking to him, whispering in his ear as Master Revelin distracted Sir Conrad. Good. Best to keep his gaze off of me. Her wings shrank even closer to herself than normal, as if they could hide from him.

. Rose noticed this boy and Riordan fighting just before this new guy came. Demetri...something about this man made her not want to speak to him...for him to be near any of them, though she wasn't sure why. The new peacock guy coming in was a problem as well. Could this guy get the prince in trouble? And this boy...it was obvious that he wasn't saying everything, but Rose knew what it was like to have secrets. She shuddered to think how the others would react if any of them knew of her own. "I will take responsibility for him!" she shouted a little loudly. Embarrassed, she took a moment to breath before finishing, "I mean, he hasn't done anything wrong, and I am a new Noble, so I could help him be put on the right path. My dad and mom won't mind, and maybe he will open up more given some time.". It was all she could think of to help this guy who had more to him like she had to her. She hoped it would be enough.

Loa sent a kind look to the girl. "You are allowed to do so, but..." Loa stepped towards her, and though her voice was chilling, and her eyes were blank, it was still somehow evident that she was merely saying what she was about to out of a desire to not see things end badly with Rose. "My lady, to take responsiblity.. you won't merely receive his punishment as well, if he breaks a law, or kills a noble, you will also be hung for treason for supporting him, or worse." Loa almost reached to set a comforting hand on her shoulder, but far too aware of Sir Conrad, Loa didn't dare touch her. "My lady, please think carefully over whether to trust him..." She turned to the peacock-man, and whispered in his ear. "If she does trust you, and you fail her, I will force you into your peacock form and gleefully pluck every one of your feathers." Only he- and possibly her prince- would be able to hear her.

Riordan heard Roses and Loas words and he shook his head. "No. Under other circumstances, I may allow it, but not this time." He then sent a stern glare at Rose, "This is not up for discussion. My decision stands." Though, he did like Loas interesting idea of torture. But he couldn't acknowledge it.
He hated having to be like this, but with Demitri there he had to take his moves carefully. He couldn't appear as weak, so he had to be more stern than usual. He also could react too much to Loa, and give Demitri something else to use against him. He then looked back to Jody, "Now, you give me information or I send you to the dungeon my friend." He whispered, so that no one else could hear.

"Any-" Jody began to whisper, but he was cut off. His eyes widened in genuine shock at Rose's outburst. You stupid girl! Why the hell would you do that? In the back of his mind, Jody was reminded of Nithya, and the reminder was painful, so his initial reaction was a bit harsher than he might normally have been. He couldn't help but smile at Loa's threat--it made him like her even more--but she obviously didn't intend for anyone else to hear her, so he made no reply.
"You have a court full of nobles who want to start a war that would benefit no one. The way they act like your father's going to just keel over or something, it's clear that they see you as their only obstacle. I think you could use an extra ear," Jody whispered. He hesitated for an instant, then added, "And were Incolumitas to send any spies or assassins your way, chances are good I could identify them for you."

۞Demitri Conrad۞

Demitri gave a slight nod to Loa before he turned his gaze to Jeremy when he spoke but his attention remained on the area around him. He knew a distraction when he saw one but he would play along. After all Jeremy had been the reason for his visit to begin with. "Perhaps if you went about your...thoughts in a more dignified manner you wouldn't fluster them. Regardless it however seems your ideas are ill founded. After all you cite to enemies of the country as your grounds for examples. Magnae Silvea is run by pompous elves whom no nothing of the word equality. As for Incolumitas well that melting pot of civil disobedience is not a good example upon how to run a country." Demitri replied choosing his words carefully.

At Rose's outburst Demitri's eyebrow rose as his eye flickered to Prince Riordan to see what he would do. However whispering began to take place which caused him annoyance that he couldn't hear it. "Besides Jeremy we already have been working on the condition in which beastials live. It can't be helped if they continue to be defiant. I mean Loa is a lovely example of how far our country has come in the acceptance of their kind. She is such a well behaved and obedient creature barring a few incidents and gets to hold such a worthy position as his royal highness's bodyguard." He stated though it would appear he was giving a compliment there was clearly a double meaning behind his words. His statement also made it clear he had heard about the flight Loa and the Prince had gone on. "After all there was once a time when she would have been killed for simply standing that close to him." He finished giving her a quick glance before turning his attention back to Jeremy. Had he known this boy wouldn't grow out of his little 'equality' tirade he would have been working on revoking his status a noble long ago.

Jeremy burned with rage, but he held it in check, though it was clear in his eyes. "Incolumitas is a country far beyond us. Civil disobedience is only a result of freedom. But, for all their problems, the people are happy, and equal. And I speak only of the equality, not their rule." Jeremy stated walking up to be right in from of Demitri. "And the condition you speak of is slave labor and servitude. Bring beastials into the noble class. Allow them to be more than menial workers." Jeremy was livid, but when he gave, what Jeremy saw as a veiled threat against Loa, he lost it. "And now you threaten the princes personal bodyguard? Were it not for her, the prince might already be dead." Jeremy then whispered, "Or is that what you would like? The prince who holds the future in his hands, out of your reach, gone." Jeremy was walking a dangerous line, and he knew it. "You are nothing more than a bigoted, arrogant, shortsighted, a**! This countries future is not made for you, but for the people who seek change and equality!"

Loa refrained from speaking, from contributing information on those countries that Sir Conrad had likely not even seen. She flickered a glance to the ground as he spoke of her, wishing he wouldn't. Disliking how she had to accept his statement as a compliment when in truth it was merely scolding, Loa flickered her gaze up to him. "I hold such a position, Sir Conrad, merely because my prince allows it." When it sank in that he had been referencing the flight, Loa nodded submissively, though her words were not such. "I do my best to protect His Higness' well-being of mind and body." It was subtle, but a challenge. She was stating, in a way that she could not be scolded, that she still believed she'd done the right thing. She sucked in a breath at his last statement, for she wasn't even that near her prince. Loa glanced at the ground again, scared. She felt ashamed that her Prince could see her fearing.

When Jeremy began to speak, Loa flashed back, in an instant, to the moment Jeremy defended her as a child. But Sir Conrad was not the one to speak to on this subject. Not like this. She reached out for him, but stopped. "Master Revelin," She said, mastering a tone that was firm, but also second-class. "You go too far, you need to cool your head." When he said the last line, she actually winced. "Master Revelin, let me take you to the kitchen to prepare you some food, you are plainly out of your wits to state such things." Now, Loa dared to gently grab his arm, and guide him towards the kitchen. She did not wish to see her friend killed. "I leave the prince in your care, Sir Conrad, Lady Rose." She bowed a little, before attempting to whisk Jeremy away. Into his ear, she whispered, "You will do your cause no good if you get yourself killed."

Jeremy felt Loa pull him back and he allowed her to. "I hate that b*****d. With every fiber of my being." He muttered to Loa as she pull him away and towards the kitchen. "Veiled threats and suggestions. All so he can get his own way." He whispered softly, "He is a danger to this country. And to any who seek equality."

Riordan knew that he had to get things done quickly, since Jeremy was being taken away by Loa. He had to remember to thank her for likely saving his friends life. "Okay, you shall work off your crime. You are now indentured to me, until such time as I see fit to release you." He said to Jody, locking eyes with him. "You run, or your turn on me, and I will see you hang. Is that clear?"
PostPosted: Mon Dec 03, 2012 9:49 pm

Loa glanced at him, then away. "If I might speak frankly?" Since it was a given she could- with this noble, at least, Loa continued. "He merely believes he's doing what is best for the country. He truely believes what he says. His beliefs shouldn't earn him hate any more than yours should." Loa was inwardly braced for Sir Conrad to follow them.

Godelieve smiled listening intently to Oralee. She seemed to be a bit more lively at hearing about it. "I do know little of elven magic." She held out her hand and a small vine came out of almost nowhere and wrapped itself around her hand. At first, flowers bloomed off of it, then they fell and thorns grew. "I just didn't know that humans can have a connection and grow to have some sort of the magic." Godelieve shook her hand softly, and the vine turned to dust, vanishing in the air.

Faelynn frowned when she got no response from her brother. She glanced at him, to see if everything was okay, yet he just looked focused. Then her attention went towards Oralee and Godelieve as they were talking about how she spoke to the horse. She watched Godelieve create the vine, and make it dissipate. "That was amazing! How'd you do that?" She watched as Godelieve turned to her and smile. "Simple, I was born with it. Thank you." Faelynn smiled and nodded to show acknowledgement. She looked at Slaine again. "Are you okay? You don't seem too talkative.."
