Me and my family(the ones that live in the house) do and wear slippers after that. We have two reasons for that,
1)Our floor is very cold and not comfortable to walk on with bare feet or socks.
2) So we can air our shoes after a long day and let it stink away 3nodding that and because if you don't take your shoes off our floor will get these marks that'll take a long time to get rid of.
Our other relatives and friends CAN take their shoes of but isn't necessary.

i do but i dont wear slippers much my mom always tells our guests it doesnt matter but if its one of my friends i ussualy tell them to just take of their shoes i do it with my friends houses to no matter what ethnicity

I don't leave them outside per se. I leave them in the laundry room next to the door so you could say they're not in the house, but sometime I just forget and have my shoes in my closet. That's just when I feel lazy... which happens often.
