A glare was cast as Jared when he apologized to her. "You don't just kiss someone. At least give a freakin' warning, god." He didn't even know her name?! Heidi stared at him incredulously. Was he for real?! "Heidi." She glanced Flair's way when he critiqued her current behavior. "I was giving Velda her present from my last mission. And Caelius gets candy too just because...and I already beat him up. If I do it anymore he'll be useless. I doubt the leaders will appreciate that." The last thing she wanted to do was piss them off like Lars had just done to earn himself a beatdown by Ferdinand.
Good show, sir. Good show.
Suddenly there were arms around her from behind and Heidi tensed briefly until she realized who it was. Oh, Em. Em could touch her. That was okay. She sighed and leaned back against the younger woman, tilting her head back to rest it on her shoulder. "Okay, okay." She pouted. "He kissed me and he didn't even know my name." She was somewhat traditional in her views on romancing someone. She relaxed against Em and closed her eyes, even reaching a hand up to hold one of Em's..at least until she felt the girl moving and turned to look back and see--JESUS CHRIST WHERE DID HE COME FROM?!

Stepping back, she let Mela fall into a more relaxed stance and gave Elaine a nod, "Good...that was good. Don't..." die "...waste your charge needlessly." The staff had grown noticeably dimmer, and she was about to leave the area with Henry, when she felt a pair of eyes on her. Turning she gave Ferdinand a hard look, daring him to even try and complain. Come at me bro.

Em listened patiently to Heidi's ranting - she disagreed with Heidi's philosophy, but that didn't mean she wouldn't respect it. She bent in and kissed Heidi's cheek, grinning broadly. "At least you know my name." She teased, giggling before she was swept away. Strong arms captured her and dipped her down, and Em didn't even see his face before it was pressed against hers. His lips were warm, and that was all that mattered, so hers parted to let him in, deepening the kiss. It was like some kind of movie, the way he held her bent over his arm as he pressed into her, and she felt flushed from head to toe, while one leg hitched up automatically in response. That was a good kiss. Once Mark finally pulled away, she blinked up dazed eyes to look at him, and licked her lips. "Mmmm." She purred. "I'm glad you decided to try it with me." Doubly glad he didn't decide to try it with Heidi. Poor girl, she had no idea what she was missing out on. Em reached for his collar and pulled him back down - what could she say? He was a real damn good kisser.

Cliff had looked after Em as she had left with just a kiss and a smile, his hands holding the harmonica hovering where she'd put them until she was well out of sight. His soft expression, the expression he'd worn to comfort her, had disappeared a little at her gentle command, turning a little uncertain as he considered the option, but she didn't wait for a reply, and he didn't give one. Instead, he just sat there, watching after her as she cheerfully rejoined the group, only vaguely hearing the calls from the other hunters about times they were leaving and a certain asshat who seemed to think dumping on Runics was cool.
After a moment of silence, which seemed fitting, he lifted the harmonica again, replaying the song he'd played before, slow and a little more mournful than before.
The sound of Zoey's voice after a few repetitions was enough to bring the harmonica to a complete stop again, going silent as he looked around for the voice. At first, he thought perhaps it had just been his imagination, but as her voice pierced through the cold winter air, the words 'southern butt' were enough to convince him otherwise. Green eyes widening a little, he scrambled from his position at the curb, grabbing the half-smoked cigarette between two fingers and fumbling to put on his hunter jacket with the other.
"Oh shi--!"
Ducking his head, he stuck the harmonica back into his pocket, getting up from the curb and ducking in with a group of other hunters to try to mingle with the crowd.

Someone grabbed at her elbow. Aki whipped her head back, and upon seeing Flair's face, she yanked her elbow out of the older woman's grip. She caught Meghan's eye. "It's so loud, how can I reach him if he can't hear me?" She scowled. Flair wasn't stupid. But she had this annoying habit of being wrong. Flair had been wrong about Nico before, what was stopping from being wrong again? It wasn't that she minded what they were saying but, but. Aki knew Nico best and she didn't even know where he was. Maybe he wasn't here at all. Her arm slumped to her side. Aki couldn't remember a time when she fought without Nico. They were partners. They were Sun Hunters. They fought, side by side, back to back. But if Nico wasn't here, if he wasn't here then she would fight alone. It was an unbearably lonely thought. (But if Nico isn't here, if he doesn't go through the portal he will survive right?) Nien does not say anything but Aki does not want to ponder what that means. "I'm ready. Maybe it's better if Nico isn't here." She's a hunter. She fights. Even if Nico isn't here, even if she must die, she fights.

Heidi stared. And she stared. And she stared some more.
"E..Em?" What happened to her hugs? What was she doing why was she doing this oh god she was kissing him again.
Now Heidi felt like the third wheel.

For once, Piglet didn't give a s**t if people were looking at him. They could stare until the ******** ball dropped for all he cared. "Hold on." He mumbled to the two men who had surrounded him, pushing himself up and pocketing the Tamagachi and trotting over to the life leader.
You'll see.
Reaching into his other pocket, he took something out that he thought would never leave his side. It was an old, used up D20 that had a vague color of red. The first one he'd ever gotten. Sometimes he attributed the simple shape to living this long. "Uh. Ma'am." He tried to clear his throat as he addressed Velda, holding out the small object towards her. He could explain to her how it wasn't much to look at, or how it didn't really compare to the nice things she'd already received... "Y-you should have some luck, too." But that would have to do.

Okay, so maybe they didn't think punching was such a great idea. But still, /he/ thought it was a great idea-- hell it was a /perfect/ idea, the more Isaac thought about it. A good old "love tap" in the face would bring Cliff to his senses, and get across the message he wanted to all at once! He could somehow hear Liam telling them that they only had fifteen minutes left; but being in the death division for long enough honed your ears to how meek and soft Liam sounded all the time. They had to make this quick. "Are you sure you can't accidentally kiss?" Isaac replied skeptically to Adam. His dark eyes traveled the area. "I mean, you can miss, so I'm sure you can accidentally hit the mark." He was just getting more nervous the closer to the deadline it got. Zoey's voice didn't seem to be having any effect; Cliff was like a chameleon, and wherever he'd gotten to, he either couldn't hear her, or didn't want to. "Where did that idiot get to?" he muttered to himself. At the least he wanted a hug before they had to leave. The thought that they might all die and never see each other again-- with that kiss on his lips as his only goodbye? " CLIFF!" he yelled into the crowd, trying to find his friend.

Mya was brushing off Julien's jacket with her gloved hands, starting at the shoulders and moving to his chest with swift, brisk movements of her hands. She'd have him looking right in no time, though she noticed with some unease that there were still some dirty smudges that just would not be gotten rid of so easily. She kept her back turned on Lucas, refusing to acknowledge him since her initial outburst, feeling that she'd wasted enough breath on him for now. Suddenly, she stopped, her whole body stiffening at the words that were directed towards her from some woman. Her head snapped towards the source, ready to tear into whoever it was who would dare accuse her of babying her darling Julien. He didn't need anybody to look after him, and she was simply being a good girlfriend and helping, and furthermore!.... Oh. Ohhhh. It was just Remy! Well that explained everything, and honestly didn't bother Mya as much as it would have had it been anybody else. She'd gotten used to this type of treatment from the other woman. It didn't stop her from giving the other female hunter a very stern look, though there was a little warmth in her eyes and her lips twitched as she struggled not to smile. It had really been much too long since she'd seen Remy last! "Remy..." She purred, and then, in a more flat tone, though the look in her eyes had turned more towards pleading "Please just mind your own business, just this once?" "Fifteen minutes..." the words were like a cold slap to the face, and her eyes got a little wider. That's right, they were on a mission. A very deadly mission that was going to be starting soon. And then...then she would be separated from her dearest Julien and who knew if they would ever see each other again. No..no! She would not think like that right now. If she let herself think like that, she might falter during some integral part of the mission and it could not only lead to her death, but the death of many others as well. Julien would return, he had to return. And she had to keep herself alive so that he had something to return for. She barely even noticed when Lucas made his retreat, though she did catch his parting words, and promptly ignored them. Really not worth my time. She thought to herself.

The dancing continued through several of C's songs, though she did manage t leave out the macarena, for everyone else's sake, in spite of her ability to do some brutal a**-shaking moves during its tune. She opened her eyes just long enough to see why nobody else was joining her, and - woah, woah, what kind of party was happening over at Em's zone? Heidi massages and kisses from Mark? He made kissing look like a goddamn art, too. But she'd be damned if he showed her up. Parading over to Em, still dancing as she walked, she wedged herself between her brother and that damn fine lady. Gentle glitter-lotioned fingers tugged Em's chin towards her as she leaned down, teetering on her boot's high heels. She gave her lips a playful brush with her own before going in for a real kiss. Her arms snaked around Em's waist, and as she hugged her close, she tried to hold the feeling in her mind. Just in case she lost this. Just in case her resolution was not the New Year's kind.

Double s**t. That was Isaac. If it had just been Zoey, he would have continued to hide -- he was going to be able to talk to her the entire time Adam and Isaac were gone, he could avoid her for a while longer. But if Isaac wanted to see him... He'd assumed the other man would have avoided him completely, at least until he had the time to process everything that had happened, which all things considered he thought would have likely been after he returned. And the brunette would be returning, he told himself a little fiercely.
But he couldn't avoid the FEAR hunter. Not if he was really looking at him.
Straightening up, he pressed his cowboy hat a little firmer on top of his head, taking a slow breath before looking around over the tops of the other Hunters' heads. He located the group easily -- Isaac was pretty tall. Wading through the crowd, he stuffed his hands into his pockets, stopping a few feet away from them with a weak smile.
"Uh... hey." he offered, for once sounding clumsy and awkward.

Wolf really needed to stop zoning out like a snail. Like man, he got distracted for two seconds and suddenly, the monster is out, down, people are yelling, people are kissing. He shook out his mane of hair and glanced around. He decided it was probably best to stay next to the rest of the Sun Hunters, but Ferdinand seemed to be giving he smack down. He really didn't want to be on the recieving end of that axe.
The young man still made his way over, dodging around people, and took up a space some ten paces from the rest of them.
You're being a loner.
"Shut it. I know that. It's easier when someone doesn't come back..." he muttered to his weapon.
An alpha still needs a pack, boy.
"... Yeah I know that..." He let out a sigh and shut out what he could of Skoll's chatter. In most regards he was a loner; he prefered to fight alone. But there were instances when he had to fight with others. Which was fine.
It just didn't happen naturally.
Anyone Come get this loner off the wall! ((Also I'm terribly slow given school, just fyi. ><; ))

Zoey both wanted to know and didn't want to know who Adam missed with. Just in case. Crazy exes and stuff, you know. Always good info no matter what.
She could've sworn she heard his curse, the quick duck of a brunet into the crowd. The Hunter huffed a sigh - it was like suddenly Cliff had gone back to kindergarden and was playing hide and seek. "Cliff, I swear to God if we don't get a group hug - !"
It was the best threat she could come up with. Fifteen minutes until go time was not when Zoey felt like playing Momma.
Aaagh. Maybe Adam was right, maybe they should let Isaac go solo to nab him. She let go of both their hands and rubbed her temples, just wishing they hadn't fought at all to begin with.
And then Cliff emerged out of the crowd with that sheepish look like a kid who just got caught with the cookie jar.
"If you hadn't come out, I'dve used the trapping gun on you when I found you," she added to her less-than-threatening threat, pouting in the man's direction. "No lie."
Beat.
"Um . . . Y-You want us to leave you guys alone?"

A girl this time, the one she was going to say needed to shower the day before, came up and also kissed Em.
What the hell was going on.
Heidi slowly took a wary step back, looking very 'Do Not Want!!!!' at the kissing fest. If she stayed too close would they round on her as well?!

Damien wasn't moving from his spot, and he had seen the kid walk off to give something to Velda. But his attention was more focused on the other group. Well it was, until some of then started making out, in which he politely looked away, clearing his throat uncomfortably before turning to Clint. "So..." He started awkwardly. He did not know Clint very well, and the guy looked pretty imposing. "...How are things going." Yup. Best thing to ask at this point in time.
