Scavenging would result in the child discovering a wide variety of things. Hunks of metal, rusted on the inside, pristine on the out. A birds nest filled with broken eggs. Seashells of all sorts and sizes. A broken gear, a shattered cog, a part in so many pieces it's purpose and appearance were unidentifiable.
After a few moments searching however she'd spot it. Right before her eyes, leaned against one side of the Rhydon's face was one of the parts upon the list.
[NAKANO OBTAINED 1 KEY PART!]

Nakano couldn't help counting her luck in this. And that was one down and ....what another three or four to go. She wasn't quite sure as she looked at some of the pictures and simply pocketed this one as she would get up and after dusting herself off a bit she would start forward again.
"That was fun."
She would tell herself.

Within moments of starting forward however the land would begin to shudder and shake, waves lapping violently against the shore as the water nearest was disturbed. The ear splitting screech and grind of metal would be the first true alert to the nearness of the threat...but it didn't seem likely that would prepare her for what she faced.
Standing nearly as tall as most buildings, red metal body glinting in the sunlight, was a Scizor. Pincers snapped, and the mechanical insects yellow eyes would comb over the scene, scanning the wreckage before settling on Nakano.
The next moment, one of those massive metal claws was heading straight for the child, attempting to squash the girl much like she might have a much smaller insect!

The girl would try and escape the incoming blow. She would dive forward as she does a roll on the ground hoping to get underneath the huge claw. She knew there were many who would have called out a pokemon to be of help to them in such a tight space, but there was little time and little use.
THe pokemon would only take damage, since the attack itself was surprising enough as is as she rolled to get back upon her feet, and if successful ...she would turn that roll into a full out dash for safety.

Sand sprayed across the shore as that massive claw embedded itself in the beach, becoming stuck for only the briefest instant before the giant managed to pull it free; the hole almost immediately filling with sea water.
Red steel glinted as the limb swung, and the Scizor's yellow eyes locked on the girl. The moment Nakano started running he began to pursue. It was fight or flight; either the child keep running for her life, or she could try to figure out a way to combat this thing without being crushed underfoot!
Either would however take a sharp wit, and a lot of luck!

Nakano would look back to see she was actually being chased. She had hoped ....against hope that the creature would have better things to do ...but it didn't seem to be so. As something else would accord to her during that run ...haven't ...haven't one of those things yielded some of the parts she needed ....wasn't it in one of their remains that she found it.
A smile came on her face. If she lead that thing back to base they could ....and that was where common sense drilled in. If they could do that, they wouldn't need her nor would they.
Besides, this needed to be a hush ...hush sort of situation. Thus, she needed to deal with this on her own as she turned hoping that the creature would simply follow as she felt herself skid sand.
Wisdom chimed in.
Didn't pokemon like that have trouble with water ...especially salt.
She was going to lead ...as she took out a kunai and held it close to her chest as she did the jutsu to return it to it's pokeball state. She was going to release a friend, when the time was right as she headed for the water's edge hoping the creature would follow. And there, only there would she release the Skarmory into the air.
With the right sort of a push ...maybe she could press the pokemon into the water and short circuit it.
That was her hope on the beach.
(I guess I roll for the plan's success)

Nakano's wisdom would prove it's flaws the moment the Scizor reached the edge of the shore. The red insect didn't stop for an instant, his leg sending water cascading into the air and stirring up waves that crashed roughly against the sandy beach. The water slid off the Scizor's steel hide like it was nothing. A real Scizor took no issue with water besides the inability to swim, and on an island surrounded by the sea on all sides...what were the chances the mechanics wouldn't have protected against such an obvious hazard?
No the child would have to be much smarter then that...not to mention swifter, as the insects claw swung down once more attempting to flatten her!

In the water, Nakano would find herself having to swim as the water from the Scizor's entrances pushed her further out to sea even as the Skarmory would kept herself in the air above it.Her wings spread wide as the girl would try and vanish underneath the waves before that claw could hit her.
The first plan hadn't worked, but, then again, the metal plating might be enough to spare it. But, if she can cut it somehow....the thought of switching pokemon came to mind, but for the moment she was simply trying to avoid the attack.

The ninja's luck would not hold out a second time as that claw made contact with her body, the sharp, gleaming edge tearing through cloth and slicing into her flesh with ease. Blood would fill the water, and although the wound was not grievous in nature, her present location was liable to double the pain.
Salt in ones wounds, even salt water, was never a pleasant thing.

Nakano would gasp in water as the pain struck her. The cut of the claws against her shoulder had sliced it open to the bone .....as she would find herself treading water for a moment as she choked and coughed, and tried to clear the water from her eyes ....even as her arm burned with a fearsomeness that made her hold the limb still despite the fact that she needed it to swim back.
Her pain though would make Suzaku's eyes glow red with anger and hatred as the bird would fly underneath the face of the Scizor. The pokemon wouldn't easily be making another attack at her ....as she would spread her wings wide and start to flap them hard and powerfully. Her aim was clear, she was going to try and knock that metallic pokemon into the water as she used Ominous wind.
If they were lucky, maybe, it would strike a rock on the way down into the water and the same salt water that stung Nakano might mess up the motors and gears inside of the machine.

The youthful ninja evidently needed to get her eyes checked or her brain tuned. Wings flapping, Suzaku's Ominous wind would strike the Scizor cleanly...and bounce off just as easily. The Steel-Type's attack had been about as effective as if she'd simply walked over and blown on the giant insect...no surprise considering the bird was no larger then the thing's eyeball!
Dwarfed in size and power, it was plenty evident from the beginning Nakano didn't have a chance in a direct confrontation!
In the mean time however the Scizor's attention would be diverted to the 'gnat' currently pestering it, one massive arm swinging about to swat at a certain Skarmory!

Suzaku would find her direction changing as she would try and back wing away. She had hoped to concentrate her attack, instead, the wind had been useless. There was nothing she could do about that ....as she flapped harder and harder as she would move to dart away from that massive claws.
They couldn't win this attack like they were.
Nakano recognized this as she swam towards the shore ..the pain was bad, but drowning would be worst while their target was distracted.
Another pokemon would be released, Lucky.
"Let's try Thunderbolt this time."
She needed to try something else ....as one avoided and the other attacked.
(Roll# 1 - Suzaku's dodge? Roll# 2 - Lucky's Thunderbolt)

Electricity would fly through the air as the Thunderbolt was unleashed...but as it met the Scizor's metal hide it would fizzle and disperse, leaving hardly a scorch mark in it's wake.
Nakano clearly wasn't grasping the size comparison here; nor the proper tactics of a ninja for that matter.
The next instant all the child would witness was a glint of metal striking the ground, the next instant a flash filling her eyes, followed by a cloud of sand and a piercing ringing in the ears of herself and her Pokemon. Sight and sound had been cut off, and for good reason as a shadow darted passed the child.
From high above Suzaku was outside the cloud of dust, but within it she would only be able to witness an obscure shadow amidst the sand and a few sharp sparks as metal struck metal. The next instant a fiery explosion rocked the beach, the blast clearing the sand cloud, and in the same token eliminating any footprints left behind by the shadow.
Minuscule fragments of shrapnel littered the beach, and with a metallic grown the Scizor's left knee buckled. The damage was slight, but it provided an opening. Not to attack...if Nakano had any sense at all she'd have realized that by now....but to flee.

Nakano was completely stun. She had tried more than one tactic, and at that moment ...it become clear ....she couldn't win this fight. She couldn't even hope to win this fight, and she almost gritted her teeth in anger and embarrassement. The girl would simply call her pokemon back ....as the Snubbull would disappear into his pokeball as she clambour out of the water and the metal bird would come to her side.
She was bleeding heavily now from the wound, and with the idea being that she couldn't win ....a tactically retreat become a very good idea as she would the help of Suzaku try and limp away from the giant pokemon while it was taking a knee literally.
