A few minutes later, most of the half-conscious participants had made their way to the front of the room to linger around. Julie put her hands into the air as if receiving an important receptacle.
"Ahem, ahem, thank you everyone for attending! This party would not have been as successful if it were not for Clarice, so a big thank to to the co-star planner," she pulled out a giant present from under the table and moved it to Clarice's general vicinity which was really, just any empty spot she could find. "So this is for you for your hard work."
"And next, we have the winner of the dance competition. Using my Eye of Scrutiny, I have come to a decision: the winners of this year's dance competition are Ceres and Jeremy!" Not waiting for everyone else to blink and begin clapping, the Moon Hunter broke into small excited claps and pulled another present on the side for them to pick up.
"And now lastly, the couples competition. It was difficult to narrow it down, but this year we have two finalists. Ladies and gentlemen and elves, reindeer and snowmen of all ages, I would like you to say hello to this year's Mr. and Mrs. Festival Queen and King Robert and Jerry AND Petra and Candace!" She clapped until the four of them began to head over to the front of the crowd. "Robert and Jerry, you won purely by purely romantic standards, creating a new standard in the chapter of true manly love between men, while Petra and Candace, you have captured what it means to be both - " Julie's voice lowered to a suggestive whisper - "naughty and nice." She gave the first couple (Robert and Jordan) one present each before moving to Petra and Candace and handing them one as well, also donning them with matching Santa hats, on top of whatever they were already wearing.
WINNERS SO FAR - Feel free to come up to Julie and pick up the present, but what is in it? Maybe they should try opening it up, after they've shared their congratulations with their friends of course! - All other non-winners don't feel too bad there is always the chance to go to the North Pole after all this is done right? - All winners please pm me with your choice of a minipet on the minis site, discounting SE's and RE's! OR instead of that you may choose to be rewarded 50 peppermint points (please note these are considered OC prize wins, god knows what is in that box

Candace had had fun, oh so much fun. She'd drank, she'd shared..lots of kisses with unexpected participants and results. She had cheered for Ceres and Jeremy when they were announced the winners, her eyes widening at the sight of presents. Clarice got a present, Ceres and Jeremy got presents..! Did everyone get one!? She wanted one! Pleeeeeeease! Couples competition! Yes! She and Jerry had that in the bag they were the best couple ever. Candace was grinning ear to ear and bouncing excitedly on her toes until she heard Robert's name. Oh...Robert and Petra. Well...that wor-- Robert and Jerry!Wait. What. AND Petra and Candace!Waitwait what? Candace blinked, looking from Jerry to Robert to Petra and then finally Julie. Well...damn. She'd take it! PRESENTS! She cheered and clapped, holding Jerry's hand until she realized wait, she was being paired up with Petra. It made sense to go up there with her, right? She sidled up to wherever Robert and Petra were standing and cut between them, looking up at Robert with an innocent little smile. "Sorry, Robert. Looks like Petra's my girl right now. You may escort Jerry up, though." This time she gave him permission. She then linked arms with Petra. "Let's go, Peppermint." She teased affectionately before leading the young woman up to the front of the room with Julie. PRESENTS! "Thank you, Julie~!" She looked up at the santa hat that was put on her head and gasped. DID THIS MAKE HER SANTA NOW?! Or...or..one of Santa's inner circle?! Best. Christmas. EVER. "And thank you for playing along so well earlier." Candace laughed, giving Petra a friendly kiss on the cheek. She wanted to open her present now! Could she open it now?! Candace squealed with delight as she hugged the present to her chest, bouncing on her toes again. She needed some place to..oh! There was a table right there! "Let's see what we got!" She squealed to the other three, hurrying to the table. She took great care in unwrapping the present, not wanting to create too much of a mess.

Jeremy lost track of time then, caught between dancing with his new date and watching the Clauses walk around to do..whatever it was they were doing. When the announcement came he grinned at Ceres, stopping their dance and taking her hand instead, leading her excitedly to the front of the room as advertised. He smiled at the first prize to Clarice, clapping for her along with Julie...and the dance competition?
Tanned hand gripped onto Ceres' tighter; he hadn't taken it seriously, but a competition was a competition. When his name - no, their names were called, Jeremy gave a loud WHOOP!, turning to his partner and grinning practically from ear to ear.
"WE WON!" He cheered, grabbing the girl about the waist and spinning her in a circle; he was nice enough to set her on her feet before going to collect their prize.
"Congrats to you couples, too!" Jeremy cackled to the couples contest winners, passing the gift box over to his partner. "S'all yours to open, lovely~"

As all good elves... Ceres was too lost in doing a GOOD job at the task she was given, to really pay attention to what was going on around her. Jeremy and the dancing was the only thing on her mind... Ok well she was all humming jingle bells at the same time but, who cared? When he started to walk away, pulling her too... he was greeted at first with a squeak, and a tugging motion as if asking 'what, Why we stopping!? Cant stop!' Though he eventually got her over to wait with the other pairs. Cerulean eyes snapped up as there name was called, and she all but TACKLED her dance partner a moment later. "We won we won OH MY GOD PRESENTS!" She laughed, only growing a bit dizzy in the process. I mean, why wouldn't they have won? Being the BEST little worker elf she could be paid off! And it had for Jeremy as well! Taking the box, she looked down at it for a moment... only to shove it halfway into his arms too. "Nuh uh. We won together, we open it together!" She looked up at the man with a expectant, and steady stare. Sort of like a glare, yet not. There was a difference, right? Though she kept quiet after that, WAITING for him to open the box with her as well... Once the other winners were announced, she too gave them all congratulations that were due.

Robert heard his name being called, and didn't register the rest of Julie's explanation. His arms squeezed around Petra and he screeched, standing her up and ready to lead her up there and accept their prize. Instead, Candace swooped in (didn't you know swooping is bad, Candace?) and stole Petra out from under him, just as the rest of Julie's announcement had started to sink in. He stood there, frozen with shock for a few seconds, before his head shook and his face darkened with determination. He headed for the closest microphone, whether it be with Julie or the DJ if there was one, and grabbed it hard. His face planted into it as he yelled out something unintelligable, then stormed up to the presents table and took his prize. What? As if he was going to pass up free stuff? Hell no. He was just furtively ignoring Jerry as much as he could, while he did it.

Well, that is to say, everyone might have attempted to grab a hold of their presents when they literally slipped out of their owners' arms and onto the floor. And joining their ranks from under the table were not one but several, innumerable squealing, box-and-teeth shaped messes of boxes, as colourful as one could find them.
Most Hunters did not react at first: presents after all were presents until they looked down at their arms and legs, which were notably, filled some some rather impressive puncture wounds. While the damage done could be somewhat likened to a very tiny one-foot attack dog that happened to look like a colourful box-shaped attack dog, the problem with these attacking presents was the same problem encountered in the Snow Sculpture contest. Basically, they ruined everything, from the decorations, to waking up any Hunters sleeping or trying to do other more private things, and most of all, the food. Some of the errant present boxes were more than happy to partake in the experience of gobbling as much food from the table as they could with their wide open mouths or simply gnawing on anyone they could find like chew toys.
Oh, and they also squeaked, that was kind of annoying too. Frankly, tiny one-foot dogs would have been slightly more pleasant.OOC RULES ATTACK OF THE PRESENT BOX SWARM:- THERE ARE SEEMINGLY AN INFINITE NUMBER OF PRESENTS IN THE ROOM. While they don't hurt individually, in large numbers, they bite, they sting and well, they are very good at hurting. It is important to try and you know, cut those numbers down. - Before your attack roll TWO 10-sided dice. The FIRST ROLL is the NUMBER of attacking presents that you target in your roll. The SECOND ROLL is the damage you take (just flat out damage, no -6 or anything like that). - Next, roll your attack post, you will as per usual, need 2 successful hits in order to use a charged attack. The attacking mechanics are simple: if you do more than 4 damage, you destroy your swarm, if you do less, they manage to overwhelm you, and you uh, better move away for now. - Be sure every time you attack a swarm that you roll once for your swarm/mob and damage DONE TO YOU (2 10-sided dice), and then again for your attack post. Be sure to label your posts either ATTACKING or TARGETING/TAKING DAMAGE. Please RP out both posts. - exclaim You have as many posts as you want until you run out of HP.- So, to summarize, in the bottom of your post you will need: Your dice rolls (see above), what you are doing (targeting a swarm OR attacking), Your total HP value, Your damage done, and how many presents you have taken out TOTAL. Please see example post parts 1 and 2 below if you are confused! - If you are talking to someone be sure to quote them! EXAMPLE POST PART 1: TARGETING AND TAKING DAMAGE (( OOC: BOB IS TARGETING THIS TURN)) Bob was very confused as to why the presents were attacking him! Oh my god no, they were everywhere. He quickly summoned his weapon and went for the ones swarming around his legs. Amount of presents targeted: Number here Damage taken from the present swarm: Damage number here Bob's total HP value: HP value here EXAMPLE POST PART 2: DISHING OUT THE DAMAGE (( OOC: BOB IS NOW ATTACKING THIS TURN )) Bob swing his mightly lance, smacking a few errant presents as he turned. Damage done to presents: (hit or miss!) Bob's total HP value: HP value here Total presents defeated: Tally here!

Gale was starting to think he was getting a little bit drunk, considering that one moment he had been standing there talking with Tedan, and the next the presents were attacking.
Really, that wasn't very nice of them - this was Christmas.
"Go away," snapped Gale, though it wasn't very strong, and his third glass of champagne was already half empty. He wasn't drunk, however; at least, not yet. Pleasantly spiced, as his mother had used to call it, and he still held full control of his senses.
Most of them.
One of the presents leapt up, latching onto his arm, and Gale dropped the glass he held in his hand. It hit the floor with a resounding crash, shattering into dozens of little shards.
"Bloody hell - "
With an irritated growl, Gale flung his hand out. There was a flash of white light, and the long, white sniper rifle appeared in his fingers, Jinhai making an amused sort of sound.

Announcement times came and Deryk couldn't help but feel disappointed when he hadn't been named one of the winners. He was so certain he and Ariane would have won everything. Something couldn't be right here. Pouting, he stared at the presents longingly. Those all belonged to him. Not these other people.
As he stared, the things suddenly sprang to life. That... probably wasn't supposed to happen.
Actually, he was more than certain that wasn't supposed to happen. But then again, snow sculptures weren't supposed to come to life either. Either way, a part of him felt this was actually really kind of epic. Until he realized he had to help destroy these things.
This became more apparent when one bit him.

This was not very fun.
Gale was not happy about Christmas being messed up.
How was he supposed to have a good time with all of these...things wreaking havoc? All of the beautiful decorations and the food and the presents -
...the presents that were, at the current moment, snapping at Gale's heels like yippy little dogs.
"Mangy little creatures," growled Gale with a disinterested sort of sneer, and lowered the rifle, firing off several consecutive shots until the four presents that had been pestering him were no longer doing so.

Quickly, Deryk summoned Tooley before trying to stab the group coming close. For boxes, they were actually pretty agile as he managed to not touch a single one of them. Not even a bit of wrapping paper was torn.
And thus the blonde hunter quickly ran back to avoid getting dog piled and dying a horrible death.
"I just wanted to open you! Leave me aloooone!"

Presents? Attacking! But presents were good, weren't they? These must be naughty presents. That the naughty kids got. ...Kids like him.
Except Harrison was going to be a Snowman now and somebody that helped kids. And he had to help save his friends! He set the bucket of ice down gently.
B0nez materialized in both mittens, and he stepped out from behind Jude, weathering the first round of sharp-toothed bites.

After he had run off a safe distance away, Deryk turned around to try and see if it was safe yet. He still wanted whatever was inside of the presents. They were attacking now, but he realized one thing. If he killed them (could they die?), he'd get their precious contents anyway.
It was like an extra fun way of unwrapping and opening gifts.
