Arc climbed into his waiting limo and took off for the airport. At least he wasn't going to spend a stuffy week with the suicidal angel.

Even after the limo left, Jake continued to stare in the direction it had gone in. Now he really wished he could have said something, but it was too late now.

Like so many times after the death of his father, Arc left Jake in the care of the maids. They were better off caring for him than he could. It was left to the maids that he was going on a business meeting and to tell the boy if he ever questioned. To him, it was a chance for vacation time away from Jake.

Over the duration of the week, Jake tried to make himself useful. Thankfully, the maids were willing to give him advice as to how to properly clean anything around the house, and some even started interesting conversations with him. Once they stopped using their cold shoulders, the maids were actually great people to talk to in lonely times.

Arc returned home, refreshed from his time to relax. He took the opportunity to go flying around a bit. He meet the female basilisk falcon in the air. And they talked about their week, yet he kept Jake out of his conversation's. He wasn't needed to known about.

Jake wandered around the mansion, wondering if any of the noticeable changes would be pleasing to Arc. The place was definitely cleaner than usual, but would it be enough to earn at least the slightest approval from the man?

Arc paused. Then continued back to the manor, where he opened the door and spotted a nervous Jake in front of him. Did he have time to spare to listen to him, he didn't.

Once again, it seemed that Jake was ignored. The servant tried not to sigh in exasperation. However, his wings drooped and molted, giving away his disappointment. Why did he even bother? The only times Arc would ever pay attention to him would be to give him advice in an annoyed tone or when night came along.

He nearly brushed the angel as he walked past to go change and soak in the hot tub. If Jake was going to bother him, it would have to be extremely important.

Once Arc passed by without a word, Jake proceeded to wander around the manor again. Once again, he received the cold shoulder from the man, and once again it was tearing at his heart. Dismayed, the servant stared at the stitches on his wrists, as if to seek comfort from them.

He knew that the boy better be studying hard and he saw that he wasn't wearing his hard plastic wristbands to keep him from scratching at them. Oh there was going to be punishment that night.

The stitches were starting to itch again, so the servant began rubbing lightly at them. He was trying his best to keep from scratching them, but it bothered him more as time passed.

Arc didn't like the feeling his wolf senses picked up and went to go hunt down the problem. He wrapped his arms around Jake before the boy could turn around and slapped the wrist covers on him. He turned a scolding eye on him then left for the hot tub.

Jake was immediately startled when he was suddenly encased by strong arms and plastic covers were clasped onto his wrists. Upon seeing Arc, the servant was immediately relieved, as he had been afraid someone else had grabbed him. But he was also very confused. Once again, Arc had showed the slightest sign of annoyed concern, but why?

If the boy wasn't going to take care of himself properly, then Arc sure wasn't going to do so. He sank completely into the hot bubbling water, submersing himself. The boy was a hand full and he claimed it as such.
