Le sigh. I have to study for a calc 3 exam tomorrow, so no posty...
And windfiar... Ian is sitting down. In front of the children. Looking at the sky. Additionally, as you stated, you are standing right next to Gary while pointing a gun at Ian. Just a note. "Step away" doesn't really work if the target is sitting down in a nonthreatening manner.
And maybe, just maybe, Ramsden has seen someone who can sell the town freshly manufactured ammunition and or looted ammunition before. And guns. Maybe.

Well he's a bit dazed and not thinking at 100% right now so he probably wouldn't fully recognize Ian right away. In addition "step away" just being a general phrase for demanding movement. Third, he's not pointing the gun at Ian, he has it out. It's just ready to use in case he needs to, which I'm aware he won't. He nearly got blown up and can't use his leg. He's a tad defensive and miffed right now.

Aye. I have noticed that we both need to put additional non-dialogue queues and try not to cover quite as much ground in so little space. In a conversation, you often don't have time to state every individual detail. Maybe most can be noted, but conversationally, a tone needs to be set. I'm sorry I read things into the tone, but the topic was jumpy enough that it indicated that the character was jumpy and on edge, and most certainly not acting rationally.
To sum up: Conversation tone, something to work on and/or note, for anyone. Unrealistic dialogues/monologues can still end up having a tone, and if it is undecided, it might not be what you want. Yay!
"Step away" is situational. Th general term is "move away", "step away" just shows up in movies more because the words have more dramatic flair. The fact that "step away" is common is because most situations where you would have the rational inclination to dissuade a threat require a threatening posture, and most threatening postures involve standing. Derp.

Agree'd there. Although about the long-a** speeches he does, that's just his thing. He did it last RP and it's a quirk I'd like to keep with him. It's become more of a running joke now for myself and a few people. Although, I'm going to slow down and try to post thing's a little more rationally. I'd just gotten off the boat and was trying to post ASAP so I wouldn't hold up the RP for our group, but kinda cost clear posting points. Next post should be a little better... I hope >_>
Also, the reason of never seeing my posts was we had a Condition: River City for about 4 days, which means no email goes out, no internet use, no outside communication basically for 4 days. They never told us when it ended though so I had no way of knowing when I could tell Isa to post, and by the time I figured it out, we were so close to being back already that it was pointless. But yeah... boat again on October 12th to somewhere in early November.

Windfiar, you're so crazy... one can never read too much into ponies~ blaugh Also, why are you having to be out on a boat so much? Is that really the day-to-day of Navy personnel? If so, I've never been happier with the Air Force xp
