The Doctor thought about that. Sumer was much more sacrificial than he was. He gad never gone that far. Though of course he couldn't just regenerate a hand or something.

I couldn't do that if I wanted to... Slytha shook her head. He would give body and soul to protect another person... I bet if he were here, he'd be looking for Lucifer. Frankly, I don't give a- She was suddenly cut off by a loud noise in the Tardis. -about that son of a- another loud flash from the console blotted out her next words. But then, I'm not so noble compared to him.

The Doctor just pressed a few buttons on the console. " Yes looking for Lucifer is a drag. I'm sure."

To put it lightly? Yes, he's a drag... Slytha folded her arms across her chest, the piece of Sumer's tail held in one of her hands, now. Lucifer has been a thorn in our sides ever since he got his own body...

Well, he's at least going to be out of our hair for a few weeks...As the Taris came to a comparatively soft landing, Slytha turned towards the door. Thank you, Doctor. Thank you, Katrina. But, we should go... It's about that time. To her surprise, the small piece of Sumer's tail began to twitch in her hands.

Kat gave Slythia a hug. " Take good care of yourself and him." The Doctor put a hand on Kat's shoulder. " And if Lucifer comes back you know who to call for help."

Slytha looked solemn for a moment, then gave both Kat and the Doctor a smile, and gave each of them a quick hug. Thank you. And I'm sure that Sumer would thank you, too, if he were here. With those words and a quick-but-meaningful nod to the Tardis controls, she stepped out of the doors and back into the forest where they belonged, gently playing with a golden wedding ring that had materialized on her finger. It's going to be strange... I've always looked after him, but never like this. She slowly shut the doors behind her, shifted into her half-dragon form, and quickly flew away.

Kat turned to the Doctor. " So what do we do now?" The Doctor shrugged. " I'm not sure." Kat smiled. " Well since I am so not going anywhere especially after last time. Let's find some more people to save." The Doctor grabbed Kat around the waist. " You are such a pretty girl." He then kissed her hard. Kat knew in that kiss that her Doctor was still this Doctor. No doubt.
Kat stayed with the Doctor for a very long time. He almost wanted to find a way to make her immortal but she refused. She knew the price of such a feat. The two of them became heroes. Kat never found out what happened to Sumer and Sythia. But she assumed they were ok. She did eventually return home but the Doctor still visits her every now and again. Kat never got married. She didn't have to.

With the help of many of the other forest guardians, Sumer's bady and mind had both returned within the year. Though they still had the occasional bouts with Lucifer, Sumer and Slytha were happily married for the rest of time in the forest that they watched and protected, eventually going down in history as the greatest guardians to ever exist.
Eventually, tiny dragonets came to live in their home, creating the family that Sumer thought he had lost forever the day that he had been transformed. The once forsaken son was now a beloved father and husband, even when his own children looked to be older than himself. Eventually, over time, dragons came to be more and more numerous again, and were gladly accepted by the human race alongside the silurians thousands of years later.
((Well, I don't think I'll be using Sumer and Slytha again, at least not from this timeline. If you want to start another, I'll use a different character.))
