R o l e - P l a y _____________/ In which Avery is reassured and Timothy shows him a surprise.
Avery managed to make it back to his duplex in time, but he didn't even look to see if Timothy was in there right away. Instead, he made a bee line straight to the bathroom and falling to his knees in front of the toilet to get sick. He washed out his mouth and brushed his teeth afterwords, before he went out to look for Tim... who wasn't even there. He left his duplex, desperately wanting to company of someone familiar right now, and began to search around the village for Timothy. He avoided going back to the cafeteria.

Timothy shut off the lights and stepped out of his old duplex room. Atleast all the arrangements had been made. He opened the door and saw Avery in the distance.
"Hey Avery!" Tim waved. Timothy quickly closed the door, he didn't want him to see what was inside. He put his back to it to make entrance not very easy.

Avery stopped when he saw Tim. He was quite visibly shaken, still rather pale from his encounter with Pyroth. "Tim," he whimpered, approaching the other boy. He moved close and slid his arms around the skunk boy's waist, clinging to him tightly. His tail was tucked between his legs and his ears were pressed flat back against his head. He was beyond the point of crying, the fear he was feeling just made him tremble.

Tim looked shocked, he held Avery for a moment. "What... what's wrong Avery?", this was not the emotional state that Timothy wanted Avery to be in when he told him.

"I --" Avery started to speak, but his voice cracked and he broke off, trying to get control of himself. He took a few deep breaths before he tried again. "I saw... saw someone change... oh god, Tim, he was a canine and he changed into a ******** DOG!" he shouted, the panic obvious in his voice.
"He could still talk, but he couldn't walk on two legs anymore! He had to drink out of a bowl and eat from my hand! Like some goddamn pet! I don't want that to happen to me," he whimpered again. "I don't want that to happen, what if that happens to me to!?"

Timothy held Avery close to him. He didn't know what to say, he didn't know what they had in store for any of them. He really had no idea either way. "I don't know what is in store for us, but no matter what, I won't leave you."
"I'm sure you'll be fine... I mean... look at Vasile. He's all changed into a canine on two legs." Timothy failed to mention that he might change again to become more animal like, he didn't want to upset Avery. Tim honestly had no idea how many times Vasile had changed either.

"But maybe he's not done changing yet! I mean the guy - Pyroth, he looked far along too, maybe Vasile's just not done yet... what if we're all turning into animals like that!? I didn't even think about it before... no one said anything about still having, you know, human proportions or whatever!" Avery was terrified, and now more than ever he wanted to get off the island. He would give anything to at least be able to still use his hands and walk upright, he didn't want to believe that all his nightmares were actually going to be true.

"What do you want to do about it... do you want to ask them?" Timothy held Avery close to him. He didn't want to talk to the staff, he didn't like them very much. But he didn't want Avery upset either.
"We can if you want?" Timothy patted Avery's back.

Avery didn't seem very comfortable with that, but he knew this was the only way he would find out the truth. With a deep breath, he nodded - he was afraid of the staff, but he was even more afraid of turning into something like Pyroth. "Y-yeah... let's go do that..."
He clung to Timothy's hand on their way back to Avery's duplex, and once they were inside he hesitated at the intercom. He almost hoped no one would answer - if they told him yes, then there would be absolutely no hope otherwise...
He reached out and pressed the button on the intercom, biting his lip nervously and glancing at Timothy.

Timothy stayed quiet as the intercom clicked on. He would let Avery handle this, the staff made him nervous.

The intercom buzzed on, a voice came through it of a female receptionist. "Yes Mr. Calder... how may I help you?"

"Uhm... yes... hi," Avery spoke nervously, trying to keep his voice calm. "I was, well, I just had a question... about the changes. I wanted to know... are we going to be turning into animals? I mean - like, will I still be able to walk on two legs and use my hands, or... are we going to end up like Pyroth?"

"Hold one moment I'll get you the Doctor." the line went into hold music and after a moment a voice came on the line. "Mr. Calder, how may I assist you?"

Avery waited nervously when he was put on hold, and almost jumped when someone else's voice came on the intercom. "Uh. Yeah. I-I was just wondering... I wanted to ask what was going to happen to me. I want to know if I'm gonna be like Pyroth too... am I still gonna be able to walk on two legs and use my hands..?"

Moreau decided to be honest on this one. He decided to ease his mind a bit on that. "Well, Mr. Calder, it is not the intention of the serums... but it is something that obviously has happened. The serums react differently to different people. They change at different rates. As far as we can tell it seems to be related to the speed of the change. Mr. Ignatius changed further faster than expected. Obviously this escalated. You have two more injections, and unlike Mr. Matthews you aren't even completely covered in fur. I doubt you have anything to worry about."
Not to completely let him off the hook. "Still, we can't be sure..."
