"You've really done it before? Seriously?" She blinked at his nervous laughter, imagining him dancing with his DS for a partner in his room, music turned up - if he didn't deny it, then it must be a 'yes' right? The mental image caused her to smile rather broadly as she tried her best not to burst out laughing - it was becoming quite difficult, however; that mental image was staying for the rest of the party... Or at least, until Riley announces the end of the dance off and she find herself being distracted by something else.
"Ah, my mother insisted on teaching me," She pouted a little; she had never really enjoyed those lessons. She would rather dance to her own beat (like she was doing now!) than according to those stuffy routine-type dances, "Its not that fun, really... She wanted to teach me enough for me to survive at formal dances. Its really more fun doing it with you." She nodded.
For now though, as she looked at Jericho's face, the Demoness imagined all the different expressions he would have while dancing solo in his room. Her own face was beaming as she did so - she clearly had a good imagination.

Malodore watched the tentacle 'hunt' with fascination - it had yet to see Riley eat, and during the Icky Stix incident it had been too focused on other things to see her actually imbibe any of the horrid sugar. "Do you automatically sense which of them contain brainmatter, or is it a conscious process?" it inquired, curious.
It plucked one of the same appetizer off the plate and nibbled as well, though naturally it ate the cracker too. "Hmm. You prefer it unprepared?"

"N-not really!" he stammered out. Whatever she was thinking, it probably wasn't what he's done before. It was Jericho's turn to take on a more reddish hue, which matched his hair and wings quite nicely actually. Averting his gaze from her for the time being, he was trying to think of something to switch the topic if possible. It seemed that Lizzy had done so to some extent already.
Though..that look on her face was a little worrysome for the dragon...
"Well.. thanks," he said while looking back to her on the compliment. Then, going along that line of thought (sort of) he added a little flatly, "My parents didn't really teach me a whole lot for formal stuff. But they keep insisting that I learn how to be 'proper' or 'civil'. "

Malodore's inquisitiveness was welcome, and she chuckled softly as she scouted for another potential piece. I can smell it. The tentacle bent up, and very slowly pointed at Malodore. Out of context, this might actually look to an outsider like Malodore was in danger.
The tip of the tentacle, which was normally closed and sharp, widened to a small hole - and allowed Malodore to see inside. The muscles within writhed much the same way an esophagus would when swallowing, though there were rows of very, very tiny prickles inside of the tentacle to help food along.
It's like a nose, and a throat, all at once. I assume it takes the latter trait when my skull pin forces my actual throat to close off, but I've always been able to smell with them.
The tentacle mouth snapped shut, and the point hardened knife sharp once more, before stabbing one of the brainballs and pulling it away.

... Actual throat?
Malodore filed that odd bit of information away to question later - now was hardly the time - and studied the tentacle with interest. "So, would my attempt at tickling them into... ah... purging... have worked if I'd picked the right one?" it said, its tone teasing.

Yes, she answered quite honestly. I told you that, the very next day, in fact. At least, I tried.. it was hard to express myself very well that day. The only reason it did not work was because - Her cheeks flushed a healthy indigo - I, ah, I didn't want to do that. In front of you. I highly doubt you would have ever wanted to be with me if you had seen something that crude occur, Malodore. It was for the best, I think. She nodded fervently.

"I suppose I can't complain, given the end results," Malodore said, amused, holding up another brain-topped cracker to the tentacle pointing in its direction.

And there it was. Riley shrunk, just slightly, as she felt it. It gripped her heart in it's painful claws and squeezed, squeezed, squeezed until she found it hard to breathe. Her tentacle wrapped around Malodore's hand, before plucking the offering up out of it's fingers. It disappeared down into it's depths, but the tentacle remained where it was.
Yes. She barely managed to get out, as her eyes fell. I think it turned out quite nicely.
She took a deep, steadying breath, and reached up to disentangle her mutinous tentacle from it's hand. It wasn't going peacefully - it rather liked it there.

Malodore eyed the tentacle. "I assure you, my hand is not edible. Unless you like a very small coating of bone marrow... very small indeed." It finished the rest of its own cracker, though it ducked its head a little so the tentacle wouldn't get any wise ideas about snitching its snack as well.
Content, the plague doctor settled back and continued picking small snacks from the plate, though it left those it thought had brain in them for Riley.

Riley snickered, shaking her head. Very funny. You know my tentacles like you just as much as I do. You are most certainly not, nor will you ever be, considered a meal. She adjusted herself, turning so that her side faced Malodore. She was still sitting on the stage, but Malodore stood beside her - and when she turned, without really thinking about it, she carefully avoided the long spike of it's shoulders, and rested her head against it. There, she found she was falling into a quiet, and peacefully content lull, as she watched her fellow students on the dance floor while sharing a meal with Malodore.

"Ohh~?" His reaction seemed to confirm what had been on Lizzy's mind all this time and she couldn't help giggling again as the mental image resurfaced; seems like her first impression of the boil might be wrong after all! He was far from boring, grumpy and simply reliable! Grinning, she added, this time taking on a more serious tone, "What else do you do in your room other than dance and collect things to add to your hoard then?"
Dance with the things in his hoard, maybe? Maybe he will dance with plushie-Jericho.
Suppressing her giggles at the thought, she grinned, "You're very welcome!" However, as he went on, she found herself frowning a little, "Like... How to be a proper dragon?" She raised an eye brow, "Are dragons supposed to be civil as well? I guess... You're being civil right now!"

Tybalt closed his eyes for the last few moments of his first flying lesson; expecting to experience his first crash landing along with it. Which thankfully, he didn't. Instead, someone had caught him and when he opened his eyes again, he was a little shocked to see that it was that mindflayer ghoul, Riley.
"T-thanks, Riley." He managed; too startled to say anything else really. Though he was able to stand by himself and nod at Sammy's questions after the shock wore off. "I'm fine." He assured. Though he was silently thanking Jack that it was Riley who had caught him and not some other ghoul. The last thing he needed was to send someone to Nurse Cricket's office with an injury of some sort. That would have been bad.
Now that he had completely recovered, he began to look around himself to see where he landed. Though the moment he looked off into the direction that he had flown in from, he realized that he was going to have to locate Chuppi again. That might be difficult... Especially now that it was more crowded than before. Plus the fact that she might very well be upset and didn't want to be found. He hoped that wasn't so. It wasn't like she intended for this to happen and he did warn her that he was a terrible dancer. Something like this was bound to happen. Sure he didn't expect to be flung across the dance hall like that, but it wasn't like she purposely did it.
Scratching the back of his head, he began to walk off to where he had last seen her; calling back to Riley as he did so. "Thanks again, Riley! I owe ya' one!"
(( sorry again for the delayed post ;;; ))

Israfel looked up from the hovering feet of his dance partner, only to blush and look back down. Blue and grey eyes only meeting for a brief moment. He felt weird doing something couples did with his best friend. They were friends! And..and friends could dance with friends right? Yeah. Friends danced with friends all the time. this was totally normal. Just like the fact he felt part of his face burning as The siren stumbled a bit, needing to hold on even tighter to stay close to the ghost. Focused on Luciens feet, (he had a very nice ribbon on after all. And such very well manicured toes), the monster chirped with surprise as Riley hugged him. "OH...oh." They were out? Looking to Lucien the siren gave a sad smile before he nodded to Riley. "It's okay, we'll practice for next time." Next time? Yes. Yes, he'd dance with Lucien in a competition again. And they'd win.
"Ah, Lucy, we can practice over there." Tugging his friend to the window, the siren felt a little better about practicing on the side lines. "Now um, let's try again!" As they moved, Israfel started to relay, making soft coos of enjoyment when they had to spin, and the feathers of his dress and wings could fan out in a flash of color. Oddly, the monster would later reflect that he wasn't happy that he looked pretty, it was that after they spun he got to hold hands with Lucien once more.

ROUND TWO
Tess couldn't believe she and Sepheran got past the first round! She really thought she would have screwed things up and get them eliminated but miraculously she didn't! And she had Sepheran to thank (and Lizzy for setting them up in the first place). If she didn't know any better, she would have thought it wasn't happening. She gave a soft hmm at her date's answer, "I can't imagine what that's like but I guess I've always relied on my sight."
When he suggested they look for Lizzy, Tess was all smiles. "That sounds like a good idea," she nodded. She was curious about Lizzy's date, "Maybe she's with Amrita too. Do you know her?" she asked. She was so occupied with keeping her attention on Sepheran that at first she didn't notice a pair of fellow dancers heading towards them; not until she accidentally brushed one of them with her wing, anyway.
