x___Doctor Ruri Chobi_Chocobo x___Doctor Ruri Braumithras was many things. Humble was not one of them. So when some lightning dragon decided to come over (stomp really) and yell at the group, he did not take kindly to being ursurped as the 'leader' of the scouts. Narrowing his eyes at the dragon, he kept himself civil for the sake of cooperation.
"Make no mistake Aksaja, we are scouting for the benefit of the group at large, NOT to get loud and start a ruckus because we're impatient," he informed, raising a challenging eyebrow to the dragon as they kept walking. He was not stopping. He could walk and talk. He saw no reason why the rest of them couldn't either. Besides. Braum sort of liked putting himself slightly in front of the group, as it helped reestablish his 'leadership' position.
"That aside, my name's Braumithras. A pleasure," he introduced to the two new additions to their team. They'd suddenly grown from two, to four, though he still hoped that Corbin and West would join them for a stable six, and he'd enjoy the pure firepower that was West, and the healing ability Corbin now had.
But the moment he heard a tree, his wings flared angrily, spinning quickly to watch ANOTHER JACKDAMNED TREE attack one of his new scouts.
"FOR THE LOVE OF ODIN DO THEY NEVER STOP!?!?!" he bellowed, screeching irately, and wanting to pummel the damned thing himself. "Stop what??" A friendly tree has appeared behind you! It wishes to hug you in painfully happy ways! HP: 3No damage Distracted momentarily by the call of Nukpana, and the tossed candy, he caught it deftly, giving a quick nod and thrusting his arm up with the prize in thanks, and turning to face the stupid tree. Narrowing his eyes, a low sound growled in his throat, and he flapped his wings twice, gaining some height before flapping them roughly. It hurt his wounded shoulders a tad, but the momentum was enough to thrust out his arm and SLAM! it into the tree, hooking the tops of the branches and taking a good chunk of wood with him as he flew past.
His wings were still stiff, and he had to make a larger loop to swing back, flapping once to stay aloft, glaring at the tree.
Braum's HP:: 25
Tree's HP:: 1 "Hey are we playing tag now!? Am I it!?" The tree smiles. "Imma get you!" It starts off after Braum with innocent bliss of the battle. HP: 11 damage

With an indignant screech, he would NOT let this thing get the better of him, especially when the dragon had so easily dispatched his own tree.
Flapping his mighty wings two more times, and gaining the full height he was capable of at the moment, his tail lashed beneath him as he glowered down at the tree.
"GET. OUT. OF. MY. WAY!" he declared forcefully, punctuating each syllable with a flap of his wings, until the last, where he dive bombed the poor overly-playful tree, drop-kicking it with violent force. It sent a small shock wave up his leg, though no substantial damage was done.

Looking to Aksaja, he couldn't help snickering at his comment. "I doubt anything's tough when blasted with a launcher like that!" His tree had been a bit of a pain but only because he didn't want to use his weapon just yet. Who knew what was ahead and if there were worse things, then he wanted to keep it full... just in case. "But that is true... the trees seem to fall more quickly now. Good for us, I say."
At the question, he nodded a bit. "If you'll be okay, an eye in the sky can't hurt." he had noticed before how Braum had been favoring a shoulder. Had he hurt himself while on the train?

Riley had a terrible, terrible hold on Jericho. When Malodore reached up to pull her off, it would find it easier than ite expected - and she slid right off Jericho's body as easy as slime. Where she ended up - whether it be face down in the snow, or in it's arms - was really up to how quick it was.
Unfortunately, this sudden change in altitude had no effect on her ability to think correctly. Her thoughts were a watery, jumbly mess.
Leoooooh. Ooooooh. I like fso eet the rainssss. She giggled, trying to find some kind of balance and failing miserably.
In a stunning moment of clarity, she rose one finger and stated;
You know, I think there might be something seriously wrong with me.
And with a lovely, graceful little twist, she faceplanted into the snow.

Iolanthe arched a brow at Livi's compliment, studying his face in silence for a moment. He seemed sincere enough even if she thought this was an odd place to observe proprieties. "Thank you," she even manged a small, non-sarcastic smile for him. In any other situation it probably would have seemed infinitely less odd.
"Okay, then we'll leave him to it," she turned on her heel and started in the direction that the dragon had pointed out - then stopped to glance back at him at the mention of flying. "An aerial view would probably be pretty helpful at seeing these things before they jump out at us." She shrugged, then glanced to Livi once to see if he was going to fall back into step with her before she started off down the path again.

"Mi scuse, yes - I am going to make her feel better," Malodore said with a sigh, nodding to Jericho. "Don't worry about waiting for us if you don't want to. I know the scouting party is moving ahead-"
And then Riley was in the snow. Lovely. Malodore shook its head and sank down on its knees next to her. The tentacles looked to be the most likely place - hadn't the bubbles emerged from there? - so it began tickling them lightly with the tip of one claw, prodding at the suckers especially. "Vieni anche tu..."

The dragon nodded at that, and stretched wings for a moment, then jumped up into the air. He hadn't really seen anything moving or whatever before, but that didn't mean anything. It would be useful just to see how far they had to go, if nothing else.
Within a few moments, Aksaja was above the trees - hoping that would keep him out of their grasp - and he squinted into the wind, trying to see up ahead. Hmm... no movement right now. And still a ways to go.
"Looks clear right now!" he called down to the group. Having to fight the wind up here was tiring, but he'd keep it up for at least a little while longer, unless something else happened.

Braum's shout to his tree made him look back to see him dive bomb the thing and as it fell, a dark smirk on his face. Good. Damn annoying tree got what it deserved. As Aksaja took off, he followed his ascent carefully, to make sure that he'd truly be all right. Flight wasn't his strong suit. He could hover but... it wasn't his skill. Feeling Iolanthe studying him, he looked at her curiously, wondering if anything was amiss. He couldn't help his way of acting around people at times. "My honor." He smiled as he placed a light hand over his chest for a moment. His Mumra taught him nothing less, truly.
As she headed off, he had fallen into step with her, looking up every now and then to keep track of Aksaja in the sky and looking to make sure Braum was truly all right. Everyone seemed injured already, though Iolanthe seemed lucky to not have to deal with any battles yet, which was good. "The sooner we find a way to the town, the better." Best not to waste too much more time. At Aksaja's call, he lifted a hand and waved to make sure he was seen by the dragon. Hopefully. "Thanks!" Let's hope it stays clear.

As absolutely intoxicated and obliviated as Riley was, nothing could have sobered her up more than what was currently happening to her right now.
Her eyes snapped open, but she still saw darkness - and felt cold. She pushed her face over to one side, staring up at Malodore with a very wide gaze. Her cheeks were now flooded with a dark purple - was it the cold snow, the alcohol, or something else that made her blush like an eggplant right now?
M.. she stopped, tried to clear her head, and tried again. Mal..? That was all she could get out, because it was still touching her tentacles. Finally, she managed a full sentence, though her voice sounded like it was raised a higher pitch in embarrassment.
Malodore..? Are.. are you trying to mate with me..?

Night was sure what was going on, It felt like he kept zoning out at critical moments and dragging along with the group being useless. He wasn't sure how to keep up or what was wrong with him so instead leaned on a tree and continued to watch the confusion. More tree attacks, more drunks and all.
((Totally can't keep up lol))

"I'll stick by. This shouldn't t-take long, right?" Jericho said while watching Malodore work with Riley, "Besides d-depending on how things go sh-she might need to be carried in order to c-catch up."
Not to mention that since the scouting party wasn't running (at least that's what he thought), it shouldn't be hard to catch up if he were cantering.. if a dragon running could be considered a canter or gallop in the first place.
"..."
Jericho was at a loss for words at Riley's reaction to Mal's first attempt. He supposed he should have guessed the tentacle hair had something to do with how a Mindflayer would...mate. A little bit of awkward info to learn at this instance.

Landing gently, Braum had to keep his wings from shaking. Even that quick exertion had strained them. Perhaps the cuts were deeper than he'd first appraised. He'd put too much force into it, and that was his own fault, granted, but that didn't mean he was going to let anyone know he was compromised.
Walking soundlessly to the package that had spilled out of the branches, he gave one last glare to the felled tree, and stowed it away in the folds of his coat. He wasn't sure what it was, exactly, but demons were never known as a very in-opportunistic lot. Greed ran deep in his family, and he simply wanted to keep the memento. Not to mention, it might turn out to be a good gift to give Belladonna.
With that, he strode quickly over to join the scouting party once more, once again resuming the forefront position as they walked, inclining his head graciously to Livi, thanks for cheering him on. He'd caught the tail end of what Iolanthe had said, and nodded in agreement, his tail swishing back and forth behind him, almost like a cat though he'd probably be offended had anyone said so.
"I wonder.......the forest may be too thick to see through from above, really. I suppose we can only watch out for larger threats, the trees don't seem to be much of a problem, do they?" he remarked, regaining his cool, and glancing down at his phone once more to check it, seeing as it had vibrated midway through his short battle. He allowed a small, warm smile to light up his features, seeing Belladonna's little note back.
"Fight went well. Well on my way to meeting you there, Pidge. <3 Stay safe and warm." he texted back quickly, eager to stay in touch with the witch. He had no idea what troubles her group was going through, but he prayed to all the Norse gods and Jack himself that she was kept safe.

Malodore paused.
"... No? I'm trying to induce vomiting," it said in the very most clinical tone it possessed, because otherwise it didn't know how it would sound. "If you'd care to direct me in the proper procedures, I would be much obliged."
It paused again.
"My apologies for the confusion."
And then it thanked Jack the Pumpkin King for the fact that masks and bandages hid its natural flesh, because it was pretty sure it was blushing like crazy.

Iolanthe simply shook her head, smiling, at Livi's answer. Sometimes people were surprising. Sadly, she knew it wasn't the time to sit around and talk about honor and niceties - just like she knew she was more than lucky to not have to deal with any of those prickly pests yet. She definitely wasn't in the mood to have to do so anytime soon.
"At least we hope it will all be better once we get to town," she didn't typically deal in optimism. At least not in this kind of situation anyway. She glanced up as she heard Aksaja called down about the path being clear, one hand rising to shield her eyes against the sun as she watched him. Not for the first time she wished she was a winged demon so she could just fly over the jack damn forest.
"I just hope we don't run into something worse when we get closer." The thought made her frown as she glanced up to look at Livi, curious on his thoughts about what exactly they'd find during the raid.
