Lin laughed at that, "That would be interesting, after all who knows what Miyuki will come up with."

Or do for that matter, sometimes Lin felt that Miyuki is more active than she was as a child.

"Could be anything," Earendil grinned as they reached his room. There, he let go of her hand and looked around.

On his bedside table was the musical egg that Miyuki had given him, as well as a book from Adonai that he had been reading. His bed was neatly made, something he had learned to do on his own after leaving home. The closet and dresser were filled with his clothes, and his weapons were on a shelf on one wall. The desk had a neat pile of paper on it, as well as an inkwell and a few quills, and a box of sealing wax. On top of the dresser was a small chest, closed, and inside the chest were the items that he had acquired on their trips to other lands. Beside it was his leather purse, about half-full of coins.

"Shouldn't take too long to pack up, I think," he mused, looking at everything.

Everything was quite neat and tidy, which didn't surprise Lin at all, but it made for easy packing.

"No, it shouldn't, especially since everything is already in it's place."

Stepping into his room, she turned and looked at him.

"Where would you like to start?"

Earendil looked around thoughtfully once more. "If we knew which room was going to be ours," he murmured, "we could simply bring things over ... instead of packing and unpacking. I suppose we could begin with the things that are easier to pack and unpack - if we leave the clothes for last, then maybe by the time we know which room will be ours, we won't have to worry about packing and unpacking them, we can simply walk them over."

It was an idea, anyways. He waited for Lin's response.

"Let's do it that way then," Lin replied thoughtfully, "And just hope we can move your clothes only."

The problem with packing and unpacking clothes is that there was a chance it would have to be re-folded because it was moved. With that in mind she went to his bedside table.

"Would you like the egg in your chest?"

Earendil looked at the egg, and then at the chest, and back at the egg again before shaking his head.

"There's so much in there already, I don't think it will fit without being damaged," he decided. "I don't want anything to happen to it. Miyuki would be devastated, and I wouldn't be too happy either."

He picked up his bag and set it on the bed, holding it open. "It should be safe in here, right? With the rune and all?"

Lin nodded, "It should be perfectly fine."

At least she thought so, and she had carried all sorts of things in her bag growing up, and dragged it around with her when she was too small to carry it properly.

Picking up the egg, Lin had to admit she hadn't taken a close look into the place where Miyuki got it from. She had given Miyuki some money (a budge) and let her choose feeling the independence would be good for her. She cast those thoughts aside though as she handed the egg to Earendil.

Earendil took the egg and set it gingerly inside the bag. "Good," he murmured softly, smiling.

He looked around and headed to the dresser to grab the chest and his money purse. "This is going to be so different for Miyuki ... how do you think she's going to react?"

She did not answer right away, but that was because she was thinking really hard about that.

"To be honest I don't know," Lin admitted, "I think it's going to be one of those cases of be careful what you wish for. Miyuki has wanted us married for a long while, but she doesn't know that normally she wouldn't sleep with the parents. On the other hand besides sleeping arrangements I don't think a whole lot is going to change for her since we've always raised her together."

So she couldn't become jealous of either parent, as far as she knew.

"That's true," Earendil murmured, setting the things into the bag. "Maybe we could make sure to tuck her in together every night ... make it a family thing. She might take it better that way."

He heard footsteps on the stairs, but he kept working to pack his things away.

"That's actually an excellent idea, and give her more of a routine," Lin replied, "All this traveling changes her routine a lot. I probably had more of a routine than she does now growing up."

Which was kind of true since Lin's routine consisted of lessons and then going to the Southland every day Gaia time for more lessons.

"I think she would like it, too," Earendil smiled. "I used to love it when my mother tucked me in ... Father was never into that sort of thing, he really only ever checked in on my lessons."

He paused as he began to pack up his desk, but only for an instant. "Well, he's changed now."

Suddenly there was a knock at the door, and he glanced up to see Shiara standing in the doorway. Her hands were clasped in front of her, and she was smiling shyly.

"Shiara!" Lin exclaimed, "It's been a long while, how are you doing?"

She smiled widely, while she didn't know Shiara all that well, it was always good to see how far she had come. Though Miyu probably knew better than herself.

For that matter where did her siblings and nieces went to? Probably went to visit people as well.

Shiara giggled softly and smiled back at Lin. "I'm doing well, thank you. And I understand that the two of you are to be congratulated. I hope for all the best for you, and that you will be very happy together."

"Thank you, Shiara," Earendil smiled widely.

"Thank you."

Lin couldn't help but grin because knowing the way Haven worked everyone will have known somehow before the bedtime.

"We're just packing everything to take to... whichever room we'll be in," she had to think about it, "Yea."
