Meru listioned to Yui's story, "Owch maybe you can give hojo a nice kick in the balls before you dragged Shinra down' she said then added "But still I'd deicided, I'll help out, I hate my job anyway also My life is kinda bleak now" she said scince she had No family, not many friends also a very long way from home, second she was an escape artist, so she can easily escape from him if there was a good chance of it.

OOC: Not really doing anything constructive but *shrug* figured I may as well post while I was on

Shinrei made a large preparation to settle everything in his hideaway, checking and double checking the positioning of everything in the room to maintain that it had indeed, remained hidden, then again, a truly trained assassin knew not to interfere with anything until they had time to do so at their leisure, when their quarry was dead. After meticulously guarunteeing it was as safe as he could possibly assure, he went about doing seemingly ordinary tasks, though he was sweltering with the possibilities he had recovered today, but just in case there was someone watching he wanted to lure them into a false sense of normalcy, to assure to them that today had been just another fruitless day of recon, that there was nothing out of the ordinary, that there was nothing to see. It was all very carefully crafted, and likely would have fooled anyone watching, however, there was no one to watch his elaborately enacted drama. The watchers were all in his head. When his people exiled him, they had also forgotten him, and as long as he never came near his home again, they cared little about what he did. And ShinRa had never been able to keep track of him, his fear of pursuit keeping him too many paces ahead of any mildly interested pursuers.

When he finally felt it was safe, he withdrew his findings, a number of quickly jotted short hand notes in Wutain characters provided a summary of Hojo and his assistants' findings. And then after reviewing the key points one last time (he'd been going over them in his head the whole time, not trusting hard copies for any length of time as they would only become a hinderance that needed to be destroyed), and then he withdrew his real bounty. It was a very small, thin vial. THe liquid within glowed a bright steady green, with traces of a purplish black tinging through it. It was the most heavily guarded of ShinRa's scientific department, the key to their power, and most specifically that of their elite unit SOLDIER. He had stolen their greatest secret, and now he would make it his own. carefully unstoppering the vial, he reached down to pull a sharp shuriken from his belongings, and gave himself a long cut down his forearm then, slowly carefully he inserted the vial beneath his opened skin. He felt the searing substance absorb into his veins, it raced through his body straight to the heart. The self-inflicted injury seemed to pulse brighter and darken at the same time, and with detatched bewilderment he realized the wound was visibly closing itself or was it a trick of the eyes, something to do with the way the room was tilting away from him. He had one clear impression of the ceiling before he was swarmed with strange beckoning images, he broke out in a cold sweat though he could feel his temperature rising, heat was all around him. A voice, snatches of memories, and then, the blessed comfort of blackness, though his sleep was far from peaceful.

He awoke disoriented and groggy, the world was brighter than he'd ever remembered, and his balance was off, overcorrecting for the slightest movement. The noises of crickets and the gentle breezes deafened him, and scents he hadn't known existed assualted his nostrils. Blinking several times he looked outside, wincing at the brightness, shading his eyes he looked in the sky, it was odd there were beacons of light everywhere, and the sun looked strange, as if eclipsed and far too large besides. Then it struck him, he was looking at the Moon, and stars. His vision was keen, too keen, he thought, for human eyes. He looked to his arm and gingerly touched the thin line of a healing scar and realized it wasn't just a dream. It had happened. This was the power of SOLDIER. He'd never felt more alive, or was this what death felt like?

Whatever it was, it felt great, giving into his first inclinations for the first time in years, he threw his head back and laughed. His balance was fine, it was his strength that was different. It would take some training to accostum himself to this new strength, but then he had all night. Reveling in his newfound power, he ignored the tiny voice in the back of his head that told him he had signed away something far more important than this strength was.

Vaizel stared in startled shock, the woman had seen the chocobo!... his elation died a few moments later as the rest of the statement struck him. Fenrir and Garm... he'd run off without getting permission from his superiors... Half-groaning he barely noticed the woman's discomfort, He looked up to thank her but froze flushing at her comment about Dawn. And so it was that she managed to run off before he could say a word. Choking on his own embarrasment, he dashed off in the direction she had indicated, the mansion right? He raced up just as the group was leaving. "Dawn?" A grin spread across his face, followed quickly by a blush as he recalled Alina's words. "You found the po... chocobo!" He continued to smile, trying hard to dispell the thought of being a 'couple' with the young woman. His gaze shifted to the twins, "Gafnir and Harm... " he started. Then froze closing his eyes slowly and shaking his head. If they didn't start correcting him he would NEVER get it right!!

" Ah, Gafnir, there is our fledgling. He saved us the trouble of searching for him," Garm commented with admirable non-humor. Fenrir did not even allow himself a twitch of the lip at his new name.

The wolves were apparently pleased to return to the sunlight. They loped away investigating the surroundings dilligently. They even started a little game of tag. Which they decided to include Vaizel in. Remus nipped his pant leg playfully (tearing the already sad fabric) and gamboled away expecting pursuit.

" I think they want you to play with them," Fenrir suggested. Just when a decidedly ill expression came over Vaizel's face. Fenrir put in, " But time for that later. We ought to check in at the hotel before they give our reservation away or something. As Turks we really couldn't accept that... I mean we'd probably be expected to do something Turkish.... like threatening them with meat cleavers."

" You read to many suspense novels," Garm said coolly. " Come along Vaizel." He said as he walked towards the inn. He wondered if Fenrir would have him go along on the rescue mission later... He contemplated various ways of getting rid of him for a while. A useless task, alcohol, sleeping pills, Garm was torn between the effectiveness.

Fenrir gallantly turned to Dawn, " I thank you for your help with our furry companions my lady." He said, laying on the flowerly language. " We are ever in you debt. I am glad as well that you have recovered your own companion. I hope our paths cross soon." With that he bowed and followed Garm to the inn.

Vaizel finally had the frame of mind to glare at his superiors, blatantly informing them he KNEW that wasn't their names, but seeing as he couldn't actually REMEMBER their names there was little he could actually say about it. His annoyance vanished when Remus invited him to join their games, Paling at the thought of all the sharp angular fangs the huge creatures sported he leapt at the distraction of investigating the Inn. "Of course.... Fie- ... Sirs." He muttered quickly, He smiled at Dawn as he passed trying to think of something to say but his attempts were quickly cut off by Fenrir. With a sigh he followed Garm. Still warily eyeing the wolves. "would they really give away our reservations Gwe-... Sir?"

Fenrir was interrupted in speaking to Dawn as a... something raced by with a lab technician in hot pursuit. The wolves perked up their ears curiously. Fenrir sighed.... he ought to see what that was about. What was with this whole town?

He jogged after the scientist and escaped being. The wolves gamboled ahead. He met the upset scientist looking rather disheveled and dirty trudging up the hill. "What was that?" he asked. " I assume it was something from the lab that wasn't meant to get out. If we hurry perhaps the wolves can track it," he offered seeing her distraught face.

Meanwhile Garm and Vaizel had almost reached the inn. They entered a moderately nice interior. A sleepy man lounged behind the desk. Garm rang the bell. The man started and snorted. He jumped when he realized he was in the presence of two Turks, albeit one looked a little ragged.

" What can I do for you?" he asked nervously.

" We have a reservation, for Garm Van Aesir of the ShinRa Turks," Garm said solemnly. The man, obviously ill at ease flipped through his book glancing up at his guests periodically.

" Um... I'm sorry sir... but we seem to have... ah... that is... um... we lost your reservation," the man fairly whined.

Garm showed not emotion whatsoever. He let the man cringe for several seconds before he said in a perfectly calm voice," Vaizel... fetch... Miss Dawn. Perhaps she can put us up for the night." The man behind the desk almost deflated with relief and started jabbering about how he would mostly certainly have a room for them tomorrow.

"Hey Vai." Dawn greeted with a smile. "Yeah, we got Kuroi back." She looked at the wiggling creature in her arms and her grin broadened. "And you're welcome," She added turning to the older Turks. "I'm just glad your companions are allright." She said, patting the head of one of the wolves who brushed past. "Say if you guys ever have any more problems..." She juggled the chocobo in her arms to fish through her pockets and finally pull out a card. "You guys can find me here." Though she handed the card to Garm, her eyes were on Vai. "Well, I guess I'll be seeing you guys later, good bye." She did a little bow and headed off.

((Things slow down and then pick up again... it just kinda does... ;p You could either do a few posts of Hojo up to somethings, or you could wait a little till you have more internet time. But don't worry, Hojo WILL have a very important role in this particular RP. wink ))

Vai paused to gaze at Garm suspiciously for a few moments, it felt a little.... strange that their reservations were conviniently 'lost'. While Vaizel may have been shy and nervous beyond reason for the most part, he hadn't made it into the Turks because he was stupid. As they turned to leave Vaizel leaned toward his blonde superior muttering quietly under his breath, "We never had a reservation... did we? Is this some convinience of station then?" He might have even pursued the matter further if not for the rather distracting presence of Dawn, with her eyes on him the suspicions fled and he seemed incapable of doing anything but smiling stupidly. Waving goodbye at her in a daze and sighing forlornly when she disapeared from sight.

"I have nothing else to do. Besides, I don't really care if I get caught." Yui replied nonchalantly.
"You however haven't had time to taint the lifestream within you. You should probably not get invloved so that you might be able to live a normal life in this chaotic, messed up world. Being used as an experiment isn't exactly my idea of a great life."
She paused for a moment, then resumed talking.
"I think I'd like to do this alone. Then I might not get caught, but if I do instead of dragging innocents down with me I'll just drag the rest of Shin-Ra with me. My research has been fueling many of the important Mako studies for Shin-Ra and losing me would be a blow. Not that it will have much of an effect on the rest of the world. Shin-Ra can live with out me, but that's because Hojo has access to all of my research due to my being an assistant to him."

While the ladies were chatting Fenrir had given the scent to the wolves and the wolves after some studious working of the ground where on their way. Fenrir was casually walking off after them, he had been hardly listening to the conversation. It had been a little bit of a challenge to get the wolves to understand he wanted to track the other smell. The first couple of times they had gone resolutely back to Yui and looked back to him for the customary treat. They had eventually understood he wanted to track the OTHER smell. They seemed a bit disgruntled at this, probably thinking it was stupid to go and find the harder smell. Why couldn't he have just given them the treats, they had found the person the smell on the jacket belonged to after all.

" Um... ladies..." Fenrir interrupted, " You may want to follow," he commented as he followed the wolves who moved on the trail noses to the ground.

"Oh," Yui said, taking notice of the wolves. "Yes, right-o, then."
She took off at a bit of a trot down the hill after the wolves.

---
Morhighan had entered the forest. She paused, looking around if she could sense any monsters.
She resumed walking, slightly aware of another prescence, however she could not pinpoint it due to her weak state and its discreetness.

Garm looked over at Vaizel with a completely straight face, slowly raised a finger to his lips. He then proceeded to wave Dawn over and explained in a perfectly reasonable voice, " Well, if they are only going to loose our reservations and will gladly accommodate us regardless of whether we made reservations or not... frankly why bother?" Noticing some flagging in Vaizel's waving he admonished, " Hand higher please, smile be pleasant, unless you want to sleep in the street tonight. Our beds are riding on what she thinks of us."

The wolves threaded their way through the town and towards the forest. They moved faster now. Fenrir accelerated to a lope. Rounding a particularly dense copse they sighted the errant experiment. The wolves howled to alert their pack brother. Fenrir drew his knives ready for the thing's response, this was much to short range for his sniper rifle. It appeared weak, almost pathetic. Fenrir gritted his teeth and gripped his knives harder, it didn't look much like a danger to him. He wished he hadn't offered his services... then it probably would have escaped poor thing (he had of course missed Yui's explanation of the creature's nature)

Yui followed, and when she spotted the vampire she frowned. She had almost hoped that they wouldn't find Morhighan. Oh well.
She pulled her gun out of the shoulder holster and followed Fenrir.
"Be careful!" she called.

---

Morhighan looked up suddenly at the wolves howling.
She flinched down, thinking quickly. Why hadn't she sensed the wolves?
"Bugger," she growled taking off at a run. So Yui hadn't let her escape on purpose. She accelerated a bit, not paying attention to where she was going, when she slipped down a hill, landing splayed out all over the place.
She got up to continue running when she realised that a bush had snagged the rip in her shirt.
She struggled to free herself from the branch that held on to her.

Meru took and took her sniper from her hoster then followed afther Yui "Anyways Yui we can't kill her right? Is it possible to simply knock her out?" she asked being very quiet in case Morhighan can hear there footsetps.
PostPosted: Wed Apr 04, 2007 8:17 pm

"You wouldn't be able to kill her, no, but if she lost enough blood she could pass out or surrender easily. She's pretty weak as it is." Yui whispered back.

"Well, you certainly don't look to be in the best shape." A voice murmured from above, breath blowing down the vampiress' neck. Shinrei sat crouched in the tree, silent but for his words. His eyes glowed strongly with the mako and Jenova infusions that now ran through his blood.
