Keiji frowned slightly, but didn't make a comment. After all, it was highly unlikely that the man was like himself... "So, umm... do you like dogs a lot?" he asked, wanting to change the subject.

Yet another slight grin was offered, and the man rubbed at the back of his head awkwardly.
"Yeah. I have a sort of... affinity for them, I suppose."
A normal enough statement. However, as the blonde avoided the other's gaze, the younger one could see a glint, a flash of something... else.
"How about you... You like dogs?"
In a desperate attempt to keep the conversation from getting too awkward, Johann continued, although somewhere in the back of his mind, a little voice was reminding him just how cute this small, slender thing in front of him was.

He shook his head. "Not really... Not big ones, anyway... They're kinda scary..." He shivered slightly. He didn't so much mind small dogs as long as they didn't bark all the time, but he'd had some bad experiences with larger dogs, whether he was in his cat or human form.
((Sorry for the long time.... I was looking at a hybiscus website with my mom and brother. ^ ^))

The man winced slightly, taking the tiniest of steps back, and once again, the boy could see a shadow of what was almost there. Piercing blue eyes, the same as were looking at him now, on a massive white creature, hackles smooth and shining in the mid-morning sun.
Then, as soon as it had appeared, the apparition was gone.
"I..."
The man stammered uncharacteristically.
"I should go. If you'll excuse me..."
With one last, fearful nod to the boy, Johann turned around and began to walk away, afraid that if he didn't, he would frighten yet one more innocent person out of his life for good.

Mie-tanuki He nodded. "For me, it's strange to be in my animal form... After all, tigers are very rare... If someone saw me walking down the street as a tiger, they'd probably call the police or the zoo or something...."
Returning to the table slowly, the younger teen sighed as he carefully sat down, bread clenched between his teeth as he ran fingers though his hair. Setting said bread down rather quickly, Haro looked up with a concerned expression, "Eh, w-what do you ...how do you think I can...pay you for this?" He asked with some difficutly, not quite sure if he was using the right words.

((o_o I'm sorry, guys... Yes, Thursday I had to get off after I finished my homework because it was late and my eyes were hurting (I'd just gotten home from skating at like seven and had to homework right after....) and then Friday I got home late 'cos the bus was stupid and then I had to bake a cake for my dad's birthday and then he picked us up and we went out to eat and got back at like eight or nine and I had to go to bed so I could get up at six to go to skating... ><))
For a moment he thought he saw a giant white dog, like a wolf, before him. But them it was gone and only the man remained. And then the man was leaving... "Hey, wait!!" he said, running after the other. "Wha- what's wrong?"
Shin smiled at Haro. "You don't have to repay me for anything, if that's what you mean. It's enough ust have someone to talk to who understands." He grinned. "So don't worry about it, okay?"
((You're both awesome writers. =3 Better than me, anyway. xD))

The man stopped, only briefly, looking over his shoulder at the boy, with an uncharacteristic fear in his eyes.
"I... just remembered something I... have to take care of..."
His voice wavered, and it was clear he wasn't telling the truth. But even so, he didn't hesitate to attempt another 'escape'. Turning on his heel, he strode smoothly across the street and into an alley, and even as he did so, the other could see a white, smooth, canine tail disappear around a corner.
((No problem! We all have our lives to deal with sometimes. I completely understand. And thanks for the compliment, but I don't think you're any less of a writer than I... I'm just good at saying something that could be said in two words and making it take up an entire page. So no worries!))

He frowned and continued to chase the other. He saw the dog tail, but still ran after him. The other had his attention now and he wasn't about to let a mystery stay as it was. After all, curiosity killed the cat. So once he rounded the corner, he did the first thing that came to mind and bit the man in the arm. It wasn't very hard, but the man wouldn't be able to get away, either.

Almost instantly, the man was back to his 'normal' state, and was eying the other with a combination of fear and utter confusion. He backed up, slowly, finally turning slightly to look over his shoulder as his back hit the cold outer wall of one of the buildings that made up the alley.
"What the...! I... I..."
He stammered a moment, seeming undure of how to proceed, then finally, taking a deep breath, he straightened up, looking over the boy incredulously.
"Can I... help you...?"
He asked lamely, seeming still unsure of how to continue, and inwardly wondering how much the other male knew. Nevertheless, he maintained his cool, meeting the other's gaze with his own azure one.
