Chris covered her mouth in horror, Tears forming in her eyes.
She didn't see herself dead in her dead body,
She saw the child she held inside her dead and crushed.
Chris, Paralyzed from pure terror almost lost consciousness.

There was only one way to find out if the faun was hostile or not. Since she wouldn't respond to words, perhaps she would respond to something else. The automaton slowly moved towards her, outstretching his hand as if he was just meeting a strange dog. His other hand hung close by the handle of his gun.
"It's alright....we just want to help."
A large golden man would be intimidating to most, but a full grown faun was nearly his size. Her hooves and sledgehammer could easily smash his joints or faceplate, where the armor was less thick.

Made up my mind to make a new start,

The metal form certainly didn't do much to placate what was an apparently already skittish woman. She stared at the hand, shrinking back, but with her hand close to the hammer, reflexes quick enough to attack in an instant. But she didn't, not yet at least, because something deep within the recesses of her mind told her not to.
Her eyes narrowed, sight locked on the hand, then the gun that the automaton toted. She shook her head.Someone told me theres a girl out there

Emma stepped forward at last, offering her hand in the same way that Remus had. She was completely unarmed; the Faun could strike her down in an instant if the fancy took her.
"He tells the truth. We only want to help." She said it twice, once in English and once in Greek, hoping that the Faun understood one of them.

Remus simply nodded in assent and withdrew his arm. Hopefully Emma would get a more desirable reaction out of Kaok's faun side. It would certainly make things a whole lot easier if things could be resolved peacefully so that they could get out of here.

Eventually, she came around, taking the Enchantress' hand, she didn't want to, but that small voice in the back of her head told her to.
James was relieved, but if the Faun was friendly... who had killed them? Well, whatever had, it wouldn't now. They'd found her, and would be going back soon.

Emma smiled, squeezing the Faun's hand gently as she led her towards the place where they had emerged.
It seemed too easy, thought Hrothbert. There was still more to come. More that he did not feel he was prepared for.

Chris tried to move but was frozen.
She tried to look away managed to pull her eyes away,
Chris walked as fast as she could toward the placed they had come back in.
"I'm scarred for life.." Chris thought as the images flashed through her head.

"So that's it. We'll take her back to the lab and bring Kaok back."
Unbeknown to Dr. Evros and Cairndeer, Remus was planning to call in the GRPD and some legionaries to have the lab quietly shut down after Kaok was successfully brought back. The Imperator would have the Window and the Centrifuge seized and left to collect dust in a government warehouse. Then this nightmare would be behind them and everyone would be happy. Or so he hoped.

They would go back - back to the lab where Evros had stayed to calibrate the Centrifuge - and everything would be ready to fix her when they arrived. Something still felt off, but she would be back to normal before they had to worry about that.
When they returned, Evros had just finished applying the last change. James said a little prayer in his head, thankful that this was all going to be over.Someone told me theres a girl out there

Emma's heart was hammering in her chest as she entered the Window (hopefully) for the final time, the Faun's hand still clutched tightly but gently in hers.
The nobles stepped out, quickly drying themselves and the Faun with a spell. The enchantress was reluctant to release her hand, but looked towards Carnideer for guidance.

Remus went through the Window last after everyone else. He exited on the other side and gave the basin one last look before turning to face everyone else.
"So what now?" the Imperator asked Evros. Inside his head, Remus was opening a channel to the nearest GRPD district office and the Legions. As soon as Kaok was back, he would call them in to this location.

Cairndeer, holding Chris' hand within his own atop his chest, nodded at Emma. It didn't appear that the Faun would run away.
Strangely enough, the reception in the lab was horrible, almost as if signals just didn't want to get in or out, or someone designed the room that way. But that would just be stupid, right?
"Now, the two halves will have to enter the Centrifuge - though it may be a little claustrophobic, sorry about that."
Catherine shrugged.
"And er... I think everyone but the Imperator may want to look away." Evros didn't know how to say it gently, but he tried to hint. "Unless we want her to come out with a shirt for an arm, the human half will have to undress." The Faun half had already been naked.

Emma gingerly let go of the Faun's hand, turning her back to allow the two of them some privacy. Hrothbert turned as well, reaching out to take Emma's hand in his. The elf drew closer, and he noticed that she was shivering as if in a cold blast of wind.
He was trying not to do the same. Foresight was screaming so loud in the sorcerer's head that he grabbed the prophetic instinct and shoved it into the farthest recesses of his mind.
