There was a shift in her expression as she heard her name being shouted. Though her face was still relatively expressionless, her eyes had widened a little.

Just as she was turning to meet the one who had called her name, she found herself tackled by him, and fell backwards from his weight to the ground, where she lay beneath him.

Somewhere, deep inside her own mind, she could hear her heartbeat quicken pace, could hear her own innocent voice pleading desperately. Stop...Stop... I don't want this. Yet, she only had a moment to despair before again she was imprisoned by herself.

The vortex had momentarily stopped at the shock of being tackled by Loki. The debris had clattered to the ground around them, but this momentary 'peace' was indeed momentary.

Fury began to melt into her expression, and she spoke. "Why do you do such foolish deeds?"

He gasped, his breath catching in his throat. It was only for a moment, but he had touched Haveni and had not lost his mind. The darkness hadn't taken him yet.

It hurt like no other, but Loki held her down by the arms with both hands, struggling to resist the urge to fall.

Why do you do such foolish deeds?

Foolish?

A smirk slid onto his lids, bitter and - perhaps - with some regret.

"Because I am a fool," he answered, eyebrows drawing up to a saddened look. "And that is... all I am. But you... you are not this way, are you? No, you..."

He shook his head. "You are.. the girl I met before. Right? And her name... was Haveni. But now... who... are you?" He could feel the strength in his arms slipping away, but he fought it, trying to hold himself steady. The wind had stopped, but he knew it could start up without hesitation.

"Who are you...?"

Who am I? This fool asked such an obvious question, didn't he...

"I am Haveni, of course. Ehehe.." The black was bubbling up again, tendrils slowly wrapping about Loki, but it was as if she were toying with him. The wisps clung to him, giving random shocks of horror for long moments.

"Until you break, until there is nothing left, all I will offer is my scourge."

The blackness sunk into him, deep into his veins and bones, pulling Loki into his own darkness. Haveni did not budge from the ground, merely staring upwards at what she'd done. She felt frustrated, scared, yet unfathomably empty.

You dare try to trick me, you dare try to stop me, I won't let anyone kill me again... I won't let you put me back in that dark place! Her thoughts only seemed to fuel that she thought they would all betray, all accuse and imprison her again.

If they saw her as a monster, then she would grant their wish, and as a monster, devastate them.

He couldn't beat her..Of course he'd known this from the start..but still it was a tad bit shocking. Had he been closer to the lightning caster Rosel, or had she been more like aeos he would have stood a chance, at least been on equal ground! The way his powers worked though he was at a severe disadvantage..and even he...though he loathed it..knew when to back down from a battle he couldn't win. The chaos exploding around them as it was there were indeed better things to do then stand there and allow himself to get fried while he spent his good time distracting the female..whatever little good it was doing.

A large sphere of paint, growing in size like a bit like an overblown bubble took the lightning in its stride, exploding with a loud pop. Daskri thrown back on his rear covered in bits of paint and sore, numb from dealing with the seemingly tireless woman, daskri chose instead to take his chances and run for it, hide himself within the larger growing fray that centered itself around haveni...well maybe no longer haveni, surely something darker, but still it did have the body of the candle maker.

Dashiell could only look on in slight awe as the constellation drew his sword, head bowed slightly in thought before he let out a deep sigh. "Yes..I suppose we all are a part of this now arent we? Heh, though maybe I should have said it a bit differently..asked if you were with them" he asked with a haggard tone, ignoring the constellations cold gaze and even colder speech, apparently he'd managed to tick him off just a bit with his improper questioning.
Still it couldn't hurt to ask, casting his gaze over Azra'iel once more before sweeping his hand out pointing at the battle that raged and escalated on the beach. "Maybe a better question to ask is..will you do something about all this" dashiell gave him a polite smile, he knew he didnt have to ask, and was sure the constellation would do something about it regardless. He looked...how would one put it..ready for a fight.

The shape between them moved and dashiells gaze fell upon the curled ball of twilif between them, the young boy standing weakly with the help of a small dark female. Ramial and Rylia, glancing between them and the constellation with more understanding then before. Realizing only now that he hadnt been threatening the pair but merely protecting them "If you'd like, to ease your burden I shall keep these two safe." he could only think to take them back to the boardwalk where alberon waited for him, the further away from the battle the little ones were the better for them all.

Suzettes gaze followed Aeos glare and held her Spear even closer to herself but stood completely still, waiting for I’m to make the first move.
However, he did nothing. Hi clicked his mouth shut and turned away from her.
Now that was weird she thought but then she had to jump back a few steps, still staring at the girl the others were calling Haveni. Ok, she definitely was no girl in distress. “Girl...what are you doing?” she asked , her voice trembling a little as she stared at the aura surrounding her got bigger and bigger.

This looks like a hurricane! she though dissolving her poison spear, returning the ego to her vial Just that scarier she managed to stay away from the black tendrils and looked over her shoulder at Fulmine and the Phyri who had come to help him.
Ok, time to make her pride aside. She was good at hand to hand fight but this...this was way out of her league. She started running towards the constellation, still evading the dark aura…things.
“Fulmine!” she cried as she hid behind him. “this…this is getting ugly!”

Keanu looked at the young twilif that ran towards then and hid behind Fulmine but soon regretted it. Apparently Haveni took control of his water whips turning them against him.
“Agh!..” he cursed under his breath as he felt the whip had cut him in the face. The salty water made him feel like his face was burnt but he managed to get his attention back at the whip “If you don’t mind darling, I think those are mine!” he was starting to get angry and tried to regain control of his weapons.
He looked from the corner of his eyes, staring at Fulmine. He was having problems of his own.

Ok this is not good. He looked as Haveni’s aura became bigger and at the chaos it was creating “Haveni stop it!!!” but it was too late. He had let his guard down for a second and a long black stem sank into his chest. He held his head with both his hands and closed his eyes.
The world had gone hazy all of a sudden his head hurt so much he thought it was going to explode “What…what have you done?” he managed to ask as the world went black.
The pain he was suffering, the resentment he was feeling, the anger…he knew it was not coming from him but he couldn’t bare it anymore.

Keanu fell to his knees, clenching his head tight between his hands; he could feel something else inside of him, he suddenly felt strong and powerful; with this he felt his mind was slipping away.
The pain of his face slash didn’t hurt that much any more but his face and chest was now covered in blood. He opened his eyes and stared at it with a stange fascination.
He wasn’t himself anymore.

Noel nodded, letting Keanu leave his side, opting to stay away. He would be the person to come in later, when the injured needed to be healed.

Then, the unspeakable happened.. The tides turned on the Ocean Manipulator, reaching out and striking their master, as Haveni looked on as if utterly pleased. Even Fulmine's electricity began to flicker and re-absorb into his body, though, if it were anyone else, it would have killed them. Fulmine looked slightly disturbed, but because the lightning was his , he was able to calm it, letting the shocking power drain to the ground around him.

What disturbed him most was when Haveni struck Keanu. Darkness seeped into his brother's lover's body and a dark aura, one that was blacker then night seemed to radiate from him.

He knew not if it was safe to approach him, but he didn't care, he HAD to see if he could help. T'was times like this where he hated his disability, the fact that he couldn't call out, and had to take action right away.

Noel darted to Keanu, dissolving the still attacking whips of water and grabbed his shoulders, turning him to face him. KEANU!! KEANU!! Are you Alright?! What did She do to you!!

This... Was strange.. The Girl in white, Haveni was what Loki called her, had some how made it so that His Electricity, his lightning, his power, turned on him, attempting to shock him. He narrowed his eyes.

"You forget.. Who is your master.." He murmured, reaching out to grab his stray lightning. It was much much hotter than it was normally, for Haveni's anguish caused it to buckle and rage wildly. His took just a moment to see if Suzette was out of the way. The young twilf had decided to stand behind him, but this could still work. He Slammed down the searing hot energy to the ground with a blinding flash, and white hot glass stemmed out in front of him and a long, jagged line that almost reached Aeos.

"SUZETTE! STAY BACK!" He shouted, Gliding on the glass as swiftly as he could towards the ice constellation, his lightning bow charged with the same malice that had emitted from Haveni. It was much more powerful than his own normal lightning, for Fulmine held no such anger in his body. Not until now. No one hurt those he cared for, and as much as he would hate to admit it, Keanu WAS important to him, for he made his brother so very happy.

His own anger laced within the lightning alongside Haveni's own grief, and when the arrow was shot, it created a blast of energy so powerful it sent Fulmine flying backwards, landing barely upright on the glass, cracking it in a shattering circle. His hands were singed from the heat, but it didn't matter right now, all that mattered was ending the battle.

The arrow flew with tremendous speed towards Aeos, loud cracking sounds popping from it as it traveled...

Keanu smiled wickedly at Noel, his sight still a bit blurred by his own blood. “If it’s the mute little boy” he chuckled and grabbed Noel by the neck of his clothes “Let’s play shall we?” the new power that was forming inside of him was incredible, he had never felt so strong. Not even when he was at the sea.

Keanu snapped his fingers and the water from the sea started to raise, waves growing even more than ever and a water snake coming straight to them “Let’s see what I can do with this mist body of yours” he grinned at noel and threw him aside. His hand still stretching towards Noel and managed to bind him, making him unable to move. “who’d have guessed? I CAN control that body of yours…now be a good boy and stay still while my snake take cares of you” his eyes were glowing with rage as he commanded the water snake on Noel, hitting him hard on the chest. He laughed hard and released Noel from his bind, curious to see what the Constellation could do in return.

As Suzette noticed Fulmine was sending the thunder to the sand she jumped back, seconds later the sand surrounding Fulmine had turned to glass. Quite a pretty sight but there was no time to think of that.

Both hands clasped over her chest she looked around. Was there nothing she could do? For the first time in quite long time she started to feel hopeless and useless. As soon as the glass had cooled down Suzette ran to Fulmine and stood besides him, then she noticed his hands were singed.

“Fulmine! Your hands!!” she looked down at her bandages and ripped two strips from them, then took a small chunk of ice from Aeos last attack and poured a single, minuscule drop of her poison in it. She then took Fulmine’s hands with her non-poisoned one and spread the mixture on them, covering them later with her bandages “That will help numb the pain and will make it bit better” it was ntil she finished her phrase that she realized what she was doing, and was extreamly surprised at herself! She was being nice to him but...perhaps she coudl allow herself to do that..at least untill all this chaos ended.

No sooner had Ergo picked up the pace after asking Noel where Fulmine was that the constellation in question had phased out his legs and taken to the air. Ergo couldn't help but smile at the bond that he shared with his older brother, how they knew each other's locations. A pang that was close to a slight splinter of jealousy also wound up in his heart, but Ergo understood that now was not the time for such thinking, and he pushed it out of his head. He could worry about it later. As he was about to learn from the situation at hand, keeping his head clear was going to matter a lot more than it normally would, especially if he wanted to get Noel out of the city alive.

Approaching the square where Noel had headed, Ergo assumed there was no rush and kept his pace even. The scent of smoke was very heavy but the air was still very breathable. The calm look on his face slowly dissolved as he rounded the corner in time to see a dark tendril reach up from the mass surrounding Haveni and punch deep into Keanu's chest. It didn't remove itself for a turn, and the constellation stood stock still, not resisting, not pulling away. Ergo could only watch, horrified, a hand clasped to his mouth, until the Traveller took control from the Boy and he was on the move. Fulmine charged at Haveni, guns blazing, or bow blazing, whatever one will, a gesture of remarkable bravery, wondrous nobility, and stunning stupidity. Ergo had SERIOUSLY low tolerance for this kind of idiocy. Especially right now. Especially when it mattered. When it was important.

Then Keanu grabbed Noel. Ergo screamed several loud and very naughty words, and decided that maybe Fulmine had the right idea with the whole battle-thing. "You just made your last mistake, cully." With those archaic words of the old tongue, probably yet to be heard by one of this level of the tower, he charged. Sandals clacking, hair flying behind him, green eyes intensifying. He was gonna give this goddam kid a SHOW, one that he wasn't likely to forget as he was picking up bits and pieces of himself from the next town over. In a fluid motion, the comparison to water not even occurring to him, nor would it have struck him as amusing, he slid a firm, wiry, powerful arm around Keanu's neck. He slid around him, tightening his grip the whole time, and when he was at a good angle, he yanked the blue b*****d free and placed a firm kick in the middle of his chest. It would've broken human bones, but constellations were made of tougher stuff. "Time to go, cully." Ergo spoke rapidly to Noel. "Get your brother and let's ride. Now."

Skryre watched the scene unfold beneath him with a growing mixture of ecstatic engrossment, fascination, and utter horror. So this was Ruin and her curse, or a close equivalent. This is what knocked Muunin out of the sky! The eye in the orb also widened, focusing on the black mass swirling in and around Haveni like a veil. He found himself unable to pry his eyes away from it, in fact, until the cursing started.

First was the gunslinger. At this, the shock and what seemed to be a strange breed of frenzied denial crept up inside him. The gunslinger was a fool, obviously. He had approached Ruin without a blinking sideways glance. But he had not had the discretion to get the hell away from her before he had been enveloped in the stuff. Odin's beard and Thor's hammer, the order must have done more than gone soft, it must have liquidated! Then came the Oceanic constellation, and the one who had taken the Trickster's name. These, however, he took no notice of. He was too busy with the swirling thoughts in his head, of whether the world on this level of the tower was coming to an end.

He looked sideways at Eisha. "There's nothing that can be done, is there."

A bubble? Incredulity at the idiotically effective defense distracted Rosel long enough to allow her painted opponent (Daskri) to escape. Why hadn't he tried such a thing earlier, the battle might have actually been a challenge as opposed to a dull session in target practice she simply didn't need. Snorting, she watched his form retreat through the maze of bodies, lightpoles, and buildings. It wasn't worth expending the energy chasing him, after all, she had bigger fish to fry. Speaking of...

The scene occurring to her right was nothing short of pure, unadulterated chaos. One hand still on the lightpole next to her, she took uneven steps to turn to face the mass of people. Her eyes immediately sought out Seir, who was on a rooftop in combat with none other than the idiotic Noctis. Perhaps Seir had dared to attack a woman, and incurred the gun-wielder's wrath. It would serve Noctis right if Seir crippled him, maybe with a damaged face he'd learn to find some other occupation other than chasing women.

It seemed Haveni had chosen to take her wrath out on those close to her in the general madness. A black tendril burrowed into a blue phyri's chest (Keanu), another snaked it's way around a small dark twilif (Sankke). Was this the Curse? What Rosel had seen briefly during her battle with the painted one, Haveni had started to dissolve into the creature of darkness and pain Rosel had seen, and encountered far too intimately, in the Lost Village. How far into chaos she had fallen already was unclear, with all the moving bodies, attacks, and flying debris, it was impossible to get a clear image of Haveni for more than a few seconds.

A howling wind she hadn't even realized was there suddenly stopped, and Rosel's head jerked around, looking frantically for a clear view of Haveni. She was no doubt the source, and if she'd been killed - Shock stole her breath from her on the tail end of the thought. Haveni was on the ground, underneath a man (Loki). Underneath. And it wasn't Noctis, surprisingly. Perhaps the man had been trying to save her? Or to kill her? Rosel snorted, and noted the absent flying debris. Perhaps it had been slowly forming into another vortex of death? Either way, Rosel had no doubt Haveni could take care of herself. She wasn't yelling, and she had both the Curse and her general destructive power to take care of her. Rosel's reluctance had nothing to do with the fact that another taste of the darkness inside Haveni would be too much for her. Absolutely nothing at all, she told herself again.

Aeos seemed to be in a bit of trouble though and Rosel's attention snapped to him as a bolt of lightning arced towards him. So there was another lightning user about (Fulmine)? Well, she couldn't leave poor Aeos to deal with that, she knew lightning could be hard to handle. A bolt of her own lashed out immediately and intersected with the other's a moment before it would have turned Aeos into a lukewarm puddle. Pitch black mingled with the bright yellow, and the pair twisted off course, narrowly missing a twilif near Haveni (Suzette) and lancing toward a group of bystanders, a pale gold constellation (Azra'iel), a deep red phyri (Dashiell), and a pair of twilifs (Ramial and Rylia).

Eisha listened to Skryre's words, as she herself observed the scene before them. How her heart wrenched, and ached, but she stayed there.

"There's always something that can be done." was her reply. A dry smile formed on her lips. "It's a shame, to know so much yet unable to speak it. Just as useless as dreaming of devastating events in the future, but unable to warn others, for nobody would listen." Her gauntlet-clad hand had clenched. It was somehow difficult for her to watch this.

She watched Haveni as she had caused so much havoc. "What have they done to you..." she whispered quietly, so quietly it was barely audible.

Shock.

That was all she could feel, its numbing terror flooding through her veins, a liquid ice that cemented her to the ground. Even the pain in her arm had faded due to its presence. It whispered its mocking silence in her ear, berating her, condemning her. Her thoughts meshed perfectly with its oily voice, echoing in her head like it was some endless cavern.

I have failed.

The black smoke that had once curled around Haveni's body had no begun to strike out, lashing against those closer to her as if it was some striking cobra. A glimpse of her eyes sent chills down her back: they were cold, lifeless, hollow. It was as if the chaos she was causing was nothing, as if the scene around was just everyday life.

I was too late.

Tendrils of black raced towards her, wrapping around the previously unseen Twilif in front of her. It was the girl from before, who had helped burn down the inn. Her breath caught in her throat as she saw the pain, the agony, that the black substance was causing her. She reached out to help, jerking her hand away as the strings of black reached out to touch her. Seir's words flowed unbidden in to her mind. You can try to stop her... if you can.

...if I can.

The words rang in her ears, grinding themselves deeper and deeper into her mind. She clenched her fists, a bolt of pain shooting up her burned arm. It granted her a precious moment of clarity, and she knew what she had to do. She had to end this. Without saying a word, she stepped towards Haveni. Her eyes glowed with an unquenchable fire and she raised her hand, her fingers twisting midair.

She threw her arm towards Haveni, a lash of air whipping towards her face. Again and again she raised her hand, throwing jet after jet of air at her. She had to be stopped. No matter the price.

Everything happened far too quickly. Noel didn't know what was happening. He lost control of his body, the molecules that made it up being manipulated by one he thought he could trust. He couldn't even form his letters to ask, why?

A large serpent of water, much like the serpent of ice from Aeos, reached for him, and he wasn't prepared to dodge, and couldn't even if he wanted to. The air was knocked from his lungs, and he fell to the ground sputtering and struggling to breath. Yes, he could breath water, but when the water and air got mixed together he still choked.

He didn't know what he should do. Yes, he was upset, and he could fight But should he? He wasn't hurt, and Keanu was his friend..

The question was answered by Ergo, who lunged at Keanu, trying to force him to the ground. Noel nodded as he was told to go, struggling to his feet. He had to make sure that all of the little one's made it out alright.

Fulmine would be fine on his own.

Suzette was so kind to help with his hands, her poison numbing the pain, making it easier to hold his bow.

"Thank you." He smiled, picking up the bow once more then looking towards the woman who had redirected his arrow.

Who the heck was this woman? She had no right to interfere with their fight. That wasn't the problem. the lighting was heading towards a group whom he didn't recognize. (Ramial, Azra'iel, Dashiell, and Rylia) He couldn't hurt the innocent! With a clench of his fist, his lightning filtered to the ground, taking the black lightning along with it.

"I have to quarrel with you! Why do you stop me?" He called out to the women in black. (Rosel) "I do not wish to kill Aeos, Merely to stop him. In fact..." He put his bow down still poised to shoot, but not aiming. "I have no reason to fight."

He thought more and more about it, and he realized, he honestly had no reason to fight. None at all. He was only fighting for he was attacked, and Aeos only attacked because he was going to attack the girl Causing all this.

"Our fight is with the girl in white." With that note he picked up Suzette, taking her to Noel's side, then looking at her, hoping she would understand. "Please, Suzette, stay with Noel. He'll Help you, find your friend and take him away. You musn't get hurt." He whispered, then went back to Rosel.

"Why is the girl in white (Haveni) harming everyone! Why is Aeos Serving her! This violence makes NO SENSE AT ALL!"

Haveni shoved the curse-ridden Loki off of her body, then tumbled backward from the rush of air that hit her. Fury was again melting into her expression as her eyes locked on Nashara.

Inside, the spirits spoke, manipulating her more and more. You see? She claimed to want to save you, and here she is, trying to kill you... Haveni clutched onto her head, screaming. It was agonizing.

"Going to save me, are you?!" her words trembled with bitterness.

His body ached terribly, but he kept his gaze on all his foes. They were all attacking, yelling, doing
everything at once. Fulmine’s arrow had been a dangerous factor, but it had been curved away
thanks to Rosel. He tossed black lightning constellation a thankful look, but it was short as his attention
had to be shifted elsewhere—to Nashara. Belts of air shifted and whipped at the one he was
protecting—were they meant to harm her? Aeos wasn’t quite certain.

The white constellation stumbled back, his arm automatically closing around the girl’s small waist. He
didn’t think about the black aura of possession or her wailing screams of agony, but focused on their
enemies. There were too many enemies, and too many of the cursed lumbering around now. With his free
arm, he sent slender blades of ice at the Nashara, and pressed into the sand to leap back a few feet with Haveni.
