Giving the boy a slight nod, Lee clung to his side, resting her head against him to hide the still present hurt look in her eyes. An entire week without so much as a kiss from Rory. This would be more torture than she thought. If they still decided to see her friends, the girls were going to think they were the least romantic couple in the world...

Rory hugged her tight against him, rubbing her back. "How well did you know Lydia? Did your parents know her well?" His voice had a sort of thoughtful quality. "I mean, if they didnae think she wis exactly sleepin' around or anythin', it's probably safe t' kiss an' all tha'. It's up t' you, though."

"I didn't really know her. But I think... if we asked the other servants about her, we could see if she really... did things with a bunch of other people. I mean, she woulda spent all her time in the house, so she'd be kinda limited to them." She shrugged a bit, actually feeling somewhat uplifted at the prospect of possibly kissing Rory sooner.

"It's a good start. She honestly didnae seem th' type t' sleep around," Rory said, shrugging. "She really didnae seem th' type t' rape th' object o' her affection, either, but tha' doc back there seems t' think Lydia liked me so much, she misinterpreted almost e'erythin' t' convince herself I liked her, too. I donnae think she's e'en aware tha' it wis rape."

Lee looked off thoughtfully for a moment, then glanced up at Rory, a slight frown on her face. "She thought you were willingly cheating on me?" Somehow she hated the girl just as much still.

"Maybe or maybe she thought I wis choosin' her o'er you," Rory answered, tilting his head. "I donnae really know, nor do I really care. I know where me heart lies an' I'm sick o' how her fooked-up issues screwed e'erythin' up. This wis supposed t' be a nice vacation wi' your parents. Now you're all sad an' upset."

Shaking her head, Lee snuggled up closer to Rory. "Dun get upset on my account." She was rather glad they were on their way to get ice cream. She could really use the comfort food. "I'll be happy once I can kiss you again." Kissing, among other things. She smiled up at the boy, an actually genuine smile, not noticing that they were pulling up to their destination.

Rory smiled back and leaned down to kiss her, slightly less than chaste. He looked up when he felt the car stop. "Here already." He scooted over reluctantly and opened the door, getting out then offering a hand to help Lee out as well. "You know, I cannae remember th' last time I had ice cream."

Rory had managed the impossible, putting a smile back on the girl's face. Kisses from Rory always did the trick...
Mr. Katan headed out, not paying much attention to the kids. It was clear he was having some sort of business conversation with the person on the phone, his voice pleasant and calm, but his expression anything but that. He walked into the small shop, finding a table to sit at and gesturing for Lee and Rory to go ahead without him, chatting away on his cell.
Lee's eyes danced from treat to treat, finding the shop to be much more magical than she could have ever dreamed. Ice cream was only a small portion of what they offered here, finding fudge, candy apples, pastries, and every other kind of sweet imaginable behind glass shelves. Lee clung to Rory's arm, needing the support to keep her from looking anywhere but the ice cream.

Rory grinned at Lee's expression. "You really do love your sweets, eh? Remind me once w' know it's safe t' make love again t' cover meself in whipped cream an' chocolate." He ruffled her hair before pushing her toward the counter. "Get whate'er you like, darlin'. I can still treat you t' dessert."

Lee covered her blushing cheeks, smiling and holding back her laughter. Rory was shameless, even now... That wasn't to say she wouldn't remind him, of course. Her grin widening as she stepped closer to the counter, Lee had enough self-control to just look over the ice cream, finding they had more than enough options to keep her satisfied. Ohhh, but what to get... "Rory, what's your favorite?" she asked, still eying the different tubs over, trying to make a decision herself.

"Dunno. Ain't had ice cream since I wis a boy. W' donnae hae it really at th' carnival, not like this. W' just got chocolate or vanilla fae th' fried ice cream," Rory answered, looking over the ice cream. "Why would anyone put bubble gum in ice cream?"

Lee stuck her tongue out playfully, stating, "'Cause it tastes good." She really couldn't decide between something chocolatey or something just really sugary. "Oh! Oh my god, Rory! Rory, look, there's a chocolate chip cheesecake flavor..." She grabbed his arm with excitement, for the moment forgetting the drama from earlier. Her mind had been made up.

The sales clerk behind the counter smiled at the couple. He often saw young couples come in, but hadn't seen anyone before as excited as ice cream as the teenage girl clinging to her boyfriend. "Have you made up your mind, miss?"
Rory looked at the ice cream Lee mentioned, but shook his head. No, that's not what he wanted. How come there wasn't a Lee's Kisses flavor? Then he spotted it. The perfect flavor, well, perfect so long as no one invented ice cream that tasted like Lee. He straighted up and pointed at the peppermint ice cream with the pieces of peppermint candy in it. "I want that."

Lee grinned at the man, nodding excitedly. "Yes please." Looking over to the flavor Rory pointed to, Lee pouted a bit. She hadn't noticed that one... Oh well, chocolate cheesecake would be just as good, she imagined. "I get a lick of yours, right?"
