Alyse set Jasmine on the floor inside and pulled off her boots and cloak, then ushered her forward. "Warm drink?" she asked with a smile. "It's not the warmest of days outside."
Rather than going off to play with the doll that was on the couch, Jasmine tagged after Alyse, clinging to her skirt so that she wouldn't be alone with the strangers.
Elrohir closed the door behind everyone before stepping inside. "Cider with cinnamon, if you don't mind, Alyse," he said.

"Cider would be lovely," Kara replied.
Toshiro looked around it was a nice place he thought, "Do you mind if we used their blankets and put them down. Faith especially has a habit of grabbing things."
And he knew if cider was set before him she would try to grab it, or rather the cup.

Alyse giggled at Toshiro. "Of course it's all right," she told him. "I know the floor's a bit hard, being wood and all, but it's good for children to be on the floor. Makes them strong."
Elrohir sat on the couch, moving the doll out of the way so that he wouldn't sit on it. "For all the children that pass through here," he murmured, "I have to say, I miss having babies around."

Kara giggled at that as she picked a place where the twins wouldn't get in the way before unwrapping each of them and setting them on the floor. She knew they wouldn't mind a hard floor it was an excuse for them (Faith at least) to tumble about.
"Like missing having little Surprises running around," Kara murmured.
No more vases, but she had her two little ones now, she grinned at that thought and tickled one of them under the chin.

Elrohir chuckled. "I wouldn't know about that. Sure, I remember Lin running around the castle when she was tiny, and then here ... but that was a very long time ago." He smiled and watched Kara as she played with the one girl. "Still. It makes me wish that we could see our grandchild once in a while, though she's not exactly an infant anymore either."
It was sad, but they hadn't even seen Leyenda yet. It was just so hard for them to leave - and for Arwen to come up here.

"Arwen had a child?"
It was a retorical question since she didn't hear anything about Ahren having married. Arwen then was the only person who could have had a child, though she could understand what Elrohir meant.
Arwen's husband Roydon was busy building ships and there was Haven here, that was sort of sad.
"How old would this child be by now?"

Elrohir was startled. "Haradhel didn't tell you?" he questioned. "Wow ... that's surprising. Yes, Arwen and Roydon have one child, Leyenda. She would be ten years old now, though we've not yet been able to see her. We can't leave here for long, and they have their own business to take care of ..."
His tone was wistful, longing.

For some reason Kara imagined a mini Arwen running about, even though she was sure the child wasn't exactly like Arwen.
"Yes.... Roydon has ship building...."
Kara wondered how Lin would feel about those two having a child, she remembered that Roydon had been added and later along with Arwen to the growing list of people who were going on her hopeful trip.
"I wonder what she's like..."

"An adventurous troublemaker," Elrohir chuckled. "At least, that's how Arwen describes her. I think she would be interesting to have around. By the Valar, how we would love to meet her."
Just then Alyse returned with a tray of steaming mugs, each of them filled with hot cider and with a stick of cinnamon sticking out. "Here you are," she murmured, taking the tray around and giving everyone a mug. "Enjoy."
She had to be careful, Jasmine was still clinging to one leg, and more than once she came close to tipping the tray a bit.

"Thank you," Kara murmured holding the mug with both hands.
It was comfortably warming, this was her favourite part about hot drinks was the way they warmed the hands. She stood up from where she was so the twins wouldn't be tempted to grab it. The cinnamon sticks she could see being a very good target.
She glanced at Jasmine and smiled, "Very shy of us?"

"You're welcome," Alyse smiled, and once everyone had a drink she sat down carefully on a chair and set the tray aside.
Jasmine blushed at Kara's question and ran to Alyse and crawled up into her lap, and only then did she smile at Kara a bit. "Mama's fwiends," she murmured shyly. "Mama make good cidah, I yike the cin'n'n sticks!"

"The cinnamon sticks is what makes the cider even yummier right?"
Kara smiled brightly at Jasmine, she was a cute little kid. She carefully took a sip of her cider careful not to burn her tongue. It was good, she had to admit.
"And what do you like to do?"
Bored now that they weren't being paid attention to one of the two twins had taken to trying to suck on the bracelet fortunately it didn't come off easily.

Jasmine nodded at Kara and sucked on the end of her cinnamon stick. "Ada fin' cin'n'n in a twee," she told Kara happily. "Ada take me wif him an' we fin' yots of cin'n'n. And pway wif Nako and Nana-tow, Nana-tow take me a'side and we pway wif aninaws!"
Having answered the question, she sipped on her cider and took a bite of her cinnamon stick.

Considering how many animals were around Kara wasn't overly surprised, Ulani and Ulrich pretty much owned a farm the last time she checked.
"What sort of animals?"
She wondered if Tao was still around, she had never stopped to consider the life span of that griffin. Even if Tao was still alive she probably was off hunting in the wild if she wasn't playing with children. Kara felt sort of sorry for Tao, Tao had a mothering nature but she would never have a mate.

Jasmine looked up at Alyse, and when she nodded at her the little girl turned back to Kara.
"Um ... pway wif hosses, and cows, and s'eep, and goats ..."
Alyse watched Jasmine, and when she trailed off she nudged her gently. "And ... ?" she pressed.
Jasmine blushed. "And ... um ... chick'n?"
