Adela started rubbing her head. "Irg. I forgot about an excuse." She saw his toned abs and chose to comment. "Nice abs." She had a slight thing for well-toned abs. BACK TO FIGURING OUT A STORY.

"An accident. We'll say an accident." Seeing Saieve's raised eyebrow, she continued. "An industrial paper shredder accident caused Schraeder's injury. Xu and I are worn out from all the craziness that the accident caused. We're his closest friends. As for your arms..." She wasn't sure what to say about that. "Surgery. You recently had a surgery and had to have your arms wrapped up like that."

Perhaps it wasn't the best of stories, but it was better than nothing.

Saieve's cheeks flushed for a moment and he cleared his throat, "Uh, thanks."

Saieve shrugged, "Sounds like it could work." he said, "That's all we have, so let's get going. Should I do the talking?"

"Uh yeah, I guess. Go ahead." She didn't think she would be a very convincing liar.

Saieve nodded and got out of the car, heading towards the back to retrieve Schraedar. He opened the back doors and gently lifted him from the seat. He glanced over at Xu, "Are you coming with? It'll look suspicious if I go in alone." he looked over at Adela, "Are you okay to walk? Or would you rather watch the van?"

Rubbing his eyes, Xu slowly got out of the car, stretching as he did so.

"I'm coming," he told Saieve. He briefly brushed his hair again, as it had become messy during his slumber on the van. Afterward, he closed the door behind him. He walked to stand beside the Host, keeping an eye on him as he lifted Schraeder, in case he would need help.

They went inside, leaving Adela in the car to rest while she could. Xu stumbled along behind Sai, who carried the wounded Schraeder. They entered through the Emergency Room door, which was lucky: it was almost empty aside from them. Nurses immediately came over to help.

---

Xu was asleep in the waiting room, totally drained. Sai was standing outside of Schraeder's door, figuring it would be good to keep an eye out since he was the only one still able to fight, and Schraeder was in the worst condition. Adela, asleep in the van, hadn't stirred since they arrived at the hospital.

A doctor came out of Schraeder's room, closing the door quietly. "What exactly happened?" he asked Sai in bewilderment. The Host delivered the story about the paper shredder, and the doctor countered with, "And the cauterization?" Sai was at a loss for words, realizing the hole in their story too late, but the doctor held up a hand. "You don't want to tell us what happened, that's fine. Normally, I would have the right to demand it, but it doesn't look like we need to know the full story to treat him this time. You're lucky; so's he. It looks like he'll pull through with some rest, though his condition is still critical."

The doctor wandered off and Sai looked into the room. Schraeder was hooked into at least three machines, as well as an IV drip and an oxygen mask. At least he was peacefully sleeping and no longer jerking around in shock.

Saieve licked his lips at the sight, but shook his head and quickly regained himself. He was Hungry. He breathed deeply, unsure of how much longer he could control himself. He needed to find something, not someone, to eat.
He sought out the nearest nurse and posed his questions, "Excuse me..." he said, thinking out his words, "Do you have any fresh meat? Preferably raw?"

She looked at him very strangely. "Uh. No. This is a hospital, not a butchery." She turned away then said, "You might try the cafeteria downstairs. No promises though."

"Thanks." Saieve said, turning away and heading for the cafeteria, "Even hospitals have meat." he mumbled as he walked.
I wonder where they keep the dead people? he thought, Autopsies, organ donors, recently deceased... he began to salivate at the thought, but shook his head, disgusted by his own thinking.
No, animal meat is better, dead people as a last resort...better than living people...

He arrived at the cafeteria and flagged down the nearest chef, "Excuse me," he said, "How much beef do you have? I'm with a group of people visiting and we're kind of hungry."

"Sorry kid," said the obviously-from-New-York chef. "Fresh outta beef. Next order'll be comin' in tomorrah." He walked off, and Saiever felt a fresh pang of Hunger.

Adela had fallen asleep in the van. It wasn't even a peaceful sleep, it was a rather quick nap in a cramped spot. This didn't bother the hispanic; she was just happy to get a chance to actually rest.

Once she woke up, she momentarily forgot where she was. "Oh...Schraeder...arm...Host...hospital..." She looked in the car to see if Xu was there. He was not. "Time to get up and find the others, chica," she muttered to herself.

She stumbled out of the car and found her way into the hospital. She had no idea where the group was, so she went to the cafeteria - perhaps Saieve and Xu were there. When she saw Saieve talking to a chef, she walked over with a slight smile. "Oi, there you are. I wasn't at all sure where you guys were. Xu's not here? And where is Schraeder being kept?" Adela wanted to know where everyone was and if she missed anything while asleep.

"Well thanks anyway." Saieve said as he turned away from the chef to greet Adela.
"Xu's in the waiting room, probably asleep, and Schraeder is in his room resting up, room 2243. Everything went well, the doctors didn't ask too many questions."

Saieve rubbed his arm for a brief pause in the conversation, "Um...wanna help me with something? It can wait until after you check on Schraeder if you want, but I need something to eat...in the shameful way us hosts need to eat. I'm looking for a more conscience-friendly meal than..." he lowered his voice, "People, you know?" His head was bowed and he was staring off towards the ground, it obviously embarrassed or bothered him to be asking such a thing.

He almost gave off the appearance of a young child admitting that he had done something wrong.

Adela smiled brightly after finding out where Schraeder was. He was being well taken care of, which was a relief. Now to actually check on him!

It wasn't that she didn't understand that Saieve was hungry, but she was anxious about finding Schraeder. "Look dude," she put her hand on his shoulder. "First take me to Schraeder. After I've seen him, then we can go and find you some food. There might be a grocery store nearby."

That said, the two of them headed off to Schraeder's room. "Damn...he looks even worse being connected to those machines." She lightly put her hand on his forehead in a comforting way.

Schraeder coughed a little, startling Adela. His eyes cracked open and he croaked, "Is this...my fantasy?" He smiled so-slightly-you-could-hardly-tell-he-was-smiling and coughed again.

"Are you...OK?" he asked. It was comical that he would ask her that.

Adela chuckled. "If it were a fantasy, I'm sure you'd be picturing a multitude of women and they'd be naked." He did have a tiny smile, but she couldn't really tell. It's just like Schraeder to be so vague. She brushed his hair from his forehead.

"I'm alright. Nothing a bit more rest can't cure." She added that in so that he wouldn't worry about her. He's been worrying a lot about me. Ah well. Friends worry about each other all the time...right? Could he...nah. But maybe he's flirting? It could also be a result of deliriousness. If he keeps this up, then he's probably being serious. That was a strange revelation; however, it was one that she had to put in the back of her mind.

"YOU on the other hand, don't seem fine." She pursed her lips. "Don't worry about me so much. You need to take care of yourself more. Stop stressing and relax, alright?" She hated that he was in such pain. "Is there anything that I can do to help?"
