A rather plump looking hick wandered the halls of the Asylum, looking for the exit. He and his chaps had split up to look. Not the best idea, but the men weren't all that smart to begin with. As he wandered he heard the voices of the girls ring out, a smile spread upon his face as he found them. "Hey boys!" He called out, in a southern drawl. "I found us a little something to do before we leave!"

The man's loud voice rang out through the hallways, echoing where neither one of them could tell where the voice came from. Ivy looked back down the hall from where they came from, then quickly switched her head to look the other way. There was a look of panic... she didn't know why she was scared, she just was. She took her sister Eve's hand in hers and started quickly walking down the hallway in the direction they came from. "Be quiet." She told her sister, raising one finger to her lips.
Eve didn't understand what was going on... but she nodded her head and did as her sister told her to.

It was a few moments, but eventually the men found the girls cowering in the hall. The men were all very large, and not in the good way. They laughed at the girls, finding their fear refreshing. "So boys, let's take turns. I'll take the white haired 'un, Jim can take the Black haired 'un."

"Wha-what do you mean by 'take'?" Eve asked hesitantly in a soft voice, suddenly feeling scared of these men... She stepped backward and tripped.
"Eve!" Ivy let out, instantly turning her back to the men and pulling Eve up to her feet then running with her as fast as she could. "Don't let go of my hand! Don't look back!" As Ivy said this, she herself looked back at the men. They were too young to understand what the men would do to them... But when Ivy saw them, the fear she felt was all she needed to know to run.
"Ivy-" Eve whimpered as they turned the corner, running into a pitch black hallway... tears forming in her eyes. Eve was not as fast of a runner as Ivy... and the dark scared her. Ivy always did better whenever Grandpa gave them something to do.
Ivy's grip on Eve's wrist tightened.

"After them!" The men shouted, running down the hall in chase. The girls were fast but the men were faster. The leader managed to grab the black haired one, holding her up to his eyes. "Ha, I like you. You're fiesty." His hands were halfway down his pants before a loud slicing sound rang through the air. The girl dropped back to the floor, hands still holding her despite being removed from their owner. The leader, turned to face his assailant and was greeted with a claw through the face. The man dropped onto the ground, utterly dead. The others ran off in fear, Jim leaving a trail of urine behind. Salazar, the assailant, looked to the girls and gave a kind smile. "Are you two okay?"

The little girl with long lack hair and blood red eyes, the same color as Salazar's, looked up at him with her eyes tearing up (trying to keep from crying) and her lip quivering. When she looked slowly from shoulder to shoulder, seeing the hands still on her, she SCREAMED.
Ivy went from staring in awe at the man who helped them to turning her attention to her sister. She ran over and kneeled down beside her sister, ripping the hands off of Eve's shoulders and tossing them aside.
When Ivy did this, Eve stopped screaming, although she was still shaking and crying. Her face was red, and she lowered her head and looked up at Salazar, clearly embarrassed about having cried and have been caught. Wiping the tears away from her eyes, she said, "P-please... mister... don't tell Grandpa..."
Ivy turned her concerned look into a frown, and helped her sister (who was reluctant) to her feet. Ivy looked back to Salazar, not sure what to do... What were those words? It took a second, but then she remembered. "Thank...you..."

When Eve started talking about 'Grandpa', Salazar realized what was going on here. "I see...Listen, how about I take you back to grandpa? I'll keep you safe from the others okay?"

Eve nodded and walked over to Salazar. Looking up at him, she gently grabbed hold of his sleeve and leaned against his leg, shaking a bit. It was really cute.... how close she stayed by Salazar. Obviously, she was still a bit scared after what had just happened.
Ivy wasn't sure if she could trust this man... But she didn't get any bad feeling from him like how she did from the men they encountered earlier. And she couldn't just let Eve go with him... So Ivy walked over and stood beside Eve, instinctive standing on the other side of her... although, the conscious thought of doing so as a protective measure did not register with her.

Sal took Eve by the hand, and told Ivy to hold her sister's hand. Together, they walked all they way down to Dr. Von Kraus' personal lab. The doctor was hard at work with a machine of sorts, what it did was completely unknown to Salazar. "Ahem..."
Dr. Warwick turned around to face his employee and smiled at the sight. "Ah good, you've found my little enkelinnen"
"What the hell were your grandkids doing running around the building? And since when do you have children?" Salazar asked, very confused with the situation.
"All goods things in time." The doctor said, going over to the girls and picking them both up. "Meet me in the presentation room. I have something to show you. And you, have something to give me."

Eve wrapped her arms around Warwick's neck and leaned her head against him, still looking over at Salazar, smiling sweetly and innocently.
Ivy didn't really react much to being picked up, instead, she silently listened to the two of them while turning her head to look at the machine Grandpa had been working on... It bothered her when she saw things or heard things she didn't understand.

Warwick carried the girls over to an area which had been set aside for their books and play things. "Grandpa is going to discuss some business with Mr. Neri over there. We'll be right back." Giving the girls a light hug, he motioned for Salazar to follow him into the presentation room. Inside the room were two chairs and a projection screen, it was basic but useful. "Now, lets talk about the DNA sample."
Salazar nodded and reached into his pack. "I got i-...err hold on." He frantically dug through the bag, looking for the hairbrush that had been the gem of the samples. But all he could find were old toothbrushes and trash. Sighing he dumped out the bags contents onto the table and looked at Warwick. "One of those will have it."
Warwick looked the items over and shrugged. "Possibly, not that it matters. I already have Grey MDNA on file."
"What!? Then why did you have me get it?" Salazar yelled in exclamation, feeling lied to.
Warwick shrugged again. "It was a test, and you passed...to a certain degree." He noticed Salazar disposition and shook his head. "I payed for you to have a room, you got the earn some money, and from what I hear you did a few crimes of opportunity. You have nothing to complain about."
Salazar couldn't help but agree. "Fine, well. What did you have to show me?"
The doctor lit up as he turned on the projector. "Mr. Neri, have you ever heard of the idea of dual paternity?"

The two girls stood next to each other in the room, watching 'Grandpa' as he walked out with the door closing behind him.
Mr.Neri. Ivy made mental note. Mr.Neri knows Grandpa. Sighing, she sat down amongst a stack of books. The ones she had trouble reading were set aside in one pile, and the ones she glanced through and had little or no trouble with were set in another. Ivy reached out and picked up a book and started trying to read it to pass the time.
Eve took a coloring book and a box of crayons from the corner of the room, then ran over and flopped down right beside her sister. Laying on her belly, she opened the book to a picture of a butterfly. Underneath the picture was written the word 'Butterfly' in large, block print. Stopping coloring for a moment, Eve looked up at her sister and asked, "Um...Ivy?" Her finger pointed to the word. "This says buh-tur-fly, right?" She sounded out the word 'butterfly' slowly, trying to get it right.
Ivy looked down at the coloring book, then looked back sticking her nose into her own book. "Yes, it says butterfly."
"Oh."
They both went back to doing what they were doing before, when Eve asked Ivy another question.
"Um... Ivy?"
"Yes?" Ivy didn't look up from the book.
"Have you ever seen a buh-ter-fly?"
"....No." Ivy responded simply, still not looking up from her book.
Eve looked from her sister back to the coloring book. With a grey crayon in her hand, she continued to color the wings a dark grey, like the outfits her and her sister wore in the Asylum. "....Okay."

Warwick started up the first slide, which showed a slow chart with a man, a woman, and a child. "Normal paternity, one father, one mother. Two sets of genes. Simple." A click of the button and the next slide showed up. It was also a flow chart, but with two men and a woman. "Dual paternity, getting the best out of both. Strong and smart, tall and nimble, bold and wise. The possibilities are endless. But you know me Salazar, why would I only stop at two?"
Salazar watched the the slideshow with little interest, this wasn't the first time that Warwick had made him sit through on of his presentations. Those girls must be the byproduct of this experiment.
The slide changed and now the flow chart held four fathers and a single mother. "You see the potential don't you? We could create the master race! We could make the perfect human! Or should I say, we have created the perfect human." Warwick was starting to sound a little crazy now, getting very excited about his work. "It's all come to this my son. The fight with Gerard, the acquisition of the Grey DNA, the holding of Kirai, the persuasion of the boy Rune, and of course, the final nail in the coffin. Your employment."
"My what!?" Salazar yelled out, slightly confused and nervous. "What do you mean?"
"When I employed you, you gave me a sample of your skin. You were the final piece of the puzzle, or rather the corner piece of the puzzle. Ever since the fateful day you arrived I knew that you were the one. That you would be the core being of my master race. Everything has come down to this! Salazar, you are the fourth parent!"
Salazar fell unconscious and landed hard on the ground.

"....What do you think Grandpa's talking about?" Eve asked, not looking up from coloring the butterfly. It was all in shades of grey and black.
"With Mr.Neri? Grandpa said we-"
"I know. I'm sowwie..." Eve interrupted, feeling guilty for bringing it up. She was just curious... Taking a dark red crayon, she colored in the background all red, scribbling frantically and biting her lower lip.
Ivy looked down at her sister and at her drawing. Black.... grey.... red. She looked at the colors and went over their names in her mind. It occured to her that her sister usually only used those three colors, and all the other crayons in the box remained untouched. "It's pretty... You should use pink, green, or blue. Maybe puh-pul?" Ivy said. Whenever she praised her sister, there was usually a suggestion or a comment with it.
Eve pouted and rolled over onto her back, holding the picture up against the light where she could see through it. "I don't like puh-pul..." She then looked over at her sister, who had already returned to reading her book. Eve then rolled back over on her stomach and pulled out all the colored crayons she had not used. "Okay."

When Salazar finally awoke he was still on the floor, Warwick had not bother to help him up. Groggily he climbed back into his seat and looked at the Doctor, still sitting in the chair from earlier. There were so many questions, he didn't know where to start. "Wha...How...oy..."
Warwick shook his head and motioned for Salazar to shut his mouth. "Quit babbling. You're giving me a headache."
He obeyed and for a few minutes they sat in silence. At last he tried to talk. "Does Kirai...or Edward, or-"
"No." Warwick interrupted. "The only people who know are you and me. And we are going to keep it that way. The girls only need one father."
"But...you can't expect me to-"
"I do. As far as they know they're orphans. That's not very good for morale. I need these girls to be the best, the greatest. That's not going to happen if they are not happy." Warwick got up from his chair and pointed out the one way window looking into the girl's play area. "I know you have some feeling for them. After all you did rescue them earlier."
"Wait...I never told you that I saved them..."
"Thats because it was staged. I knew all along."
Salazar dropped his head to the table in frustration. As if the shared paternity with Gerald and Edward wasn't enough, he was being used.
Warwick sighed and shook his head. "Look, at least go out and talk with them for a while, see if you like them or not. At the very least you can afford that."
Salazar sighed and nodded. "Fine." he said quietly, walking outside of the room to meet his daughters.
