Nelowulf Cale Darksun I see the same sort of bickering that ruined the Cellana sector going on. Hey Nelo, what kind of male character did you have in mind? I might be able to help ya out. Senatorial person, preferably nautolan, though species is irrelevant. Mostly diplomatic for the sake of actually working the political scene instead of being another guntoting, glowstick wielding person. http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/thumb/2/26/Imperial_Diplomat.jpg/200px-Imperial_Diplomat.jpg http://www.swagonline.net/node/3165 http://www.swagonline.net/node/3981 http://www.swagonline.net/node/1817 http://asokyeesrim.deviantart.com/art/Asok-Fancy-Noble-124591519 http://jakebacon.deviantart.com/art/The-ultimate-Ithorian-Noble-75345960

Nelowulf Cale Darksun ElladanKenet I see no reason to get into this argument Nor go to Dac, for that matter, unless it comes down to full war. At which point we hope it doesn't spread throughout the sector and beyond Remind me what they were arguing about. I wasn't paying attention. I was pointing out that bringing a fully recognizable high general of the republic as an "escort" on a "diplomatic" mission seemed highly contradictory to a peace mission. Des had made note that his character would be commanding the 501st and such, and being the said commander and one of the high five of the council, that would make him extremely well known. My problem was bringing him along on a purely ambassadorial trip would give quite a bit of bad PR to the republic, who would look like instead of trying to mediate the arguement, it would wind up appearing as though they were trying to issue a forced resolution. And then, when he stated that he was going to go there one way or another to negotiate a deal, it pointed out that the republic knights would operate independent of the senate, whom i would be the official diplomat. In short, my protest was his presence would be a total sign of militaristic intent, which he backed up by trying to announce that he would force a peace himself, without senatorial backing. Last i checked, it was a civil war, and if the senate sent an official delegation to mediate where it could, having a Republic knight go down and make a second armistice would only make the entire remnant not only seem fractured, but also the senate would appear as though it holds only ceremonial power, as the RK would be operating outside of an official sanction and enforcing a martial peacetime cease fire. I see. If Des was playing an actual Jedi as opposed to his Jedi Warlord, it would work as the Jedi are known as peacekeepers first and foremost. His warlike tendancies, reputation, and intent would do more harm than good.

Last one's pretty funny. Ithorian crime lord. Got anyting more along the lines of the statesman? I might retcon that character on a similar model to that.

Nelo makes a good point
If you're sending a Senator to mediate, then you don't need a Jedi. One or the other
And since Nelo suggested it first, then he gets to go. ANy actions by Des, especially if he drags his command with him, would contradict the mission.
I suggest Des finds a different reason to go to Dac

Ok, then I will need a new master. Bringing up the Obi-wan subject again, does anyone have any arguments against Master Kenobi being my master? I don't want to come off as pushy, but this matter needs to be resolved once and for all.

His warlike tendancies, reputation, and intent would do more harm than good. He's not doing the full warlord, but I haven't heard any change to him not being one of the main five and being a high general nonetheless. Either way, a commander of any military force would be most unwise especially under the guise of a "bodyguard". Which is partially why I was going to petition the jedi to at least consider being the primary escort instead, because 1) my character is far more trusting of the order than this new sect, and 2) would be smart enough to at least try and play the "we're getting the galaxy back together" card and try to at least appeal to the jedi to show that they haven't abandoned the republic altogether. While maybe not defending the republic, their presence would be at least more comforting that they're willing to at least attempt to be concerned with political issues.

I don't want to come off as pushy, but this matter needs to be resolved once and for all. If you're looking for Kenobi-esque, try a sherpa Jedi knwon as Echuu Shen-jon. I know it's not the main man himself, but the two are fairly close in terms of temperment and capacity. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Echuu_Shen-Jon At least consider him a backup, if kenobi's unavailable. Considering his position in the new jedi era, I don't know if he'd be availabe for training anything more than younglings.

There are no rules saying he can't be your Master, nor really, that you couldn't play him if you really wanted to. But, as a sidenote, if you have him, and plan on NPCing him from time to time, the guild expects you to roleplay actions as Obi-Wan would've done them. It's the main reason while we avoid canons But ultimately, ask Rodyn. It's his rp

Though the Republic Knights are warlords, they still hold the ideals of the Jedi Order. However, a neutral representative at the Dac negotiations is wise.
NPC Masters... hmm... I'll answer that by the end of the day.

Warlord implies someone with an army and navy breaking apart from the larger organization, and forming his own splinter group.
Like Admiral Zjinj.
