Right... I'm not going there for the politics, but for the art. But I guessing politics does have effect on the art.
As for the classes not helping anything. Your wrong, and no, I won't need to get a job in China. Last time I looked, a painter can live and do their job anywhere in the world. As for being wrong, I go their for what they can teach me in art. On how they create, and what tecnique they use to do so.. Yes it's easy to just go take up a book that shows you how to do it, but theres the difference in picking up the book, doing it, then learning it and about how it come to be by a person who has probably been teaching it for years.. For example... If you want to be a great writer, you must have a wide range of refferences to be able to create a great story. The same principles apply to a painter.
Well.. thats how I look at it... v.v; Might not be right... but eh.
