I like being long-range attackers. Sit at the back and snipe people off~
(Greatbows can technically hit people from up to FIFTY SQUARES away. :D Verrrrrry long range.)

Long range is good...especially in Fire Emblem. Always helps to have an archer or a mage nearby to shoot, and kill, an enemy that is hard.

I like archers. :3 It's hard to baby 'em, though, so they either have to be dodge machines or get unnecessarily decent defenses.

Archers are good...they have good range, and they also get very skilled and quick when needed.

Yeah, archers are good, but sometimes monsters are immune to projectiles, so melee is the only way to go.
Oh, no, I'm nice at early levels (or, at least, sort of nice... I plan on not letting the cleric in the party turn anything... Improved Turn Resistance is a great little feat)... but later on, I make up some nasty trap-monster combinations. See, there's this monster called the Juggernaut in Monster Manual 2, and it happens to have Wall of Force at will. So, somehow make the PC's fall into a hidden cavern, and then unleash one of these things on them... They can't go back up, because as soon as they fall, the Juggernaut activates a Wall of Force as a surprise round. So they have to fight this thing in cramped quarters, and hope it doesn't squash them in the process. Oh, did I mention that the Juggernaut is a Huge giant stone cube on rollers, with a roller at the front? Not something you want to fight in a small space. Especially if it's advanced.
No, see, Green Dragon at first level is just stupid. No DM should ever do that.

I had missed quite a bit too... but it doesn't take that long to read the last few pages.

I haven't played much D&D, but I do know this:
Rogue + Marshall = Win.
Marshalls have (or at least, had as of... 3rd Ed?) this flanking aura which means Rogues have a very easy time "doing it from behind".
Once I played a Rogue with a Marshall in our group... Stabbed the bajesus out of a displacer beast with a bigass flank attack.
Otherwise, I suck at D&D, largely because I can't roll well to save my life. >_o *D&D/FETO luck usually fails*

Marshalls? I've never heard of them... I think. Maybe they're in the Players Handbook 2, for 3.5E. I'm going to check now, because you've sparked my curiousity. *Is going to be playing a rogue*
EDIT - Actually, it's in the Miniatures Handbook. And I see that aura you're talking about... it gives a bonus on damage to allies when they're flanking equal to the Marshal's charisma bonus. It's okay, but I usually don't bother with flanking to get Sneak Attack damage when I'm playing a rogue. There are other very sneaky ways to stab people in the kidneys.

Don't feel bad, Rhys. Half of my rolls on searches ended up in the 5-9 range. XD And if you look back, there's a rather hilarious critical fumble tale of mine. :3
@Hane: My cousin did something similar to his brother, but it was a red dragon. Basically, his younger brother was being a doofus and kept trying to run into a room full of ogres at Lvl 2 and thinking he could take 'em all down at once and repeatedly dying, so older brother goes, "Fine. A red dragon appears and breathes fire in your face. You're dead."
(Turns out it was all an illusion because they never bothered examining a plaque in the first room. XD)

Oh wow that is more evil than before...especially your way of doing it Ike. A juggernaut? That would be both awkward and cramped...no sense in letting them live eh?
