"Since I have my own gold from the bow shop... it should be fine if I come along." Sue grinned, and then she looked towards her leader, who also wished to join them. "Ah, see? Even Captain Nino wants to dine with us. It's a terrific idea."

Victoria stayed behind, watching Leon and Arashe fight on. Someone had to be there to heal them, even if her fellow Followers of the Light had to go elsewhere. Besides, she didn't feel like following the newcomers that were apparently stealing the arena crowd. Oh well, at least the Watch Captain remained here. Maybe he'd go in again, and let her get more skilled with using staves. "That Leon fellow just closed in... I wonder if this will be the end.." she muttered more to herself than anyone.

Roy, at first, wasn't expecting her to say much. Just a curt nod and go on her way, just to pretend she had heard him. But he was surprised when she stopped to actually listen to what he had to say. Ninian had then turned to look at him. He blushed slightly, then tilted his head to the side.

"Why are you apologizing?" he asked curiously.

He then noticed that she wasn't just looking at him to look. She was actually looking at him, finally recognizing him as her son. He rubbed the back of his head. She would probably be thinking he looked so much like Father and nothing like her.

He was then surprised when she smiled at him. It was a small smile, but a smile nonetheless. She was apologizing again, this time for not spending time with her son that she hadn't seen in years. He looked into her soft red eyes, and determined that she was being honest. Both to herself, and to him.

She had then approached him, and hugged him. Roy was at a loss of words for a moment. This was...the first hug he had ever gotten from his mother that he could remember. He would treasure this moment. The young redhead wrapped his arms around Ninian and embraced her back. "You're welcome...and...thank you, Mother..." he said softly, fighting back the tears of joy.

She felt silly and odd and embarrassed and out of place. And then he hugged her back. It was the first time she could remember ever hugging him. Well, after she'd come here anyway. Even before coming here, holding her little son had been a moment to treasure due to her almost constant illness that kept mother and son separated more often than not. Now, however . . . things were different. This . . . this felt right. She felt safe, and Roy felt like home. Yes, he was exactly like his father, but he was his own person, too. What he'd lived through, the things he'd seen, the things he'd experienced . . . those things had made him who he was. And without reason, without any effort at all, she loved him.

"There's no need to thank me," she said softly, still half stunned from her realization. But it made sense, and this brought a true smile to her face.

She stepped back, still smiling. Her headache had faded to the dull throbbing she'd grown used to while traveling with--around Elibe all those years ago. This didn't bother her, but the fact that it wasn't completely gone meant that perhaps the danger had not completely passed yet.

Her gaze wandered, half looking for a quiet place to sit. Had there been so many people here before? Sue had wandered away, now talking to people Ninian did not know or recognize. There was Nino, and Amelia, too. . . .

"Are there . . . more people here than before?" she wondered aloud.

Nine, if she counted correctly. Nine faces she didn't know. Go see what all the commotion was about, or avoid the risk of the headache returning and find someplace quieter? No, they were dispersing now, it seemed, heading off somewhere. And she wanted to talk with Roy some more.

"Um . . . shall we find a place to sit?" she asked, looking to Roy. "And perhaps something to eat?" she added as her stomach began to growl.

Leon was pleased. He drew the sniper out in the open, where he'd have nowhere to hide. He'd be able to aim and swing effortlessly. Now if only he could shrug off the horrible feeling in the pit of his stomach... If I end this quickly, that won't matter.

He made a charge toward Arashe, acting like he was gonna swing left, but he swung his axe right at just the last minute.

Arashe's advance went unhindered, the slow movements of Leon hardly anything to worry about. As the axe moved to the left, Arashe tensed himself. When it moved to the right, he flinched, his legs sending him past the axe's blade, and straight into the pole.

The shaft slammed directly into the man's side, knocking him clean off his feet, a few feet away. Angrily pushing back onto his feet, Arashe glared at the Guardsman, pure anger in his eyes.

"...look what you did, oaf. Now my coat is dirty. This simply..." He brushed himself off. "...will..." He shook off his hands, holding the Stiletto tightly. "...not..." He ran his spare hand through his hair, removing all visible dust from it. "...do!"

He threw the knife directly for the man, aiming for a gap in the armor, just under the stomach. Stilettos were known to be especially effective against armor, and Arashe was putting it to the test as he pulled out his Killer Bow. Now that he'd gone and gotten dirty, the games were over.

Castello scratched the back of his neck as the headband slid down Teifi's forehead, tearing his eyes away from the brooch, and chuckled. "I'm sure we can take it in at the back. Somehow," said the bird with absolutely no knowledge of sewing.

As everyone started off for the restaurant, Castello chuckled and spread his wings, sweeping just over Kyros and the girls' heads, dipping up and down like a rock skipping over the sea of people, bobbing through the air on his way toward the restaurant.

"Oh, late, even upon arising from apparent death; so characteristic of myself, honestly," blabbered the sage to himself, hastily stuffing the rust-colored tome into his bag as he jogged. It seemed to be making noise--it jangled and clanked as little bottles filled with sand, smooth rocks, the root of some odd plant, and the rest of his already growing new collection fought for its own space inside his canvas pack.

His chest heaved, and Domanova's breaths came ragged. "It has been quite a long time...my poor lungs, nearly barren, they are," he said between gasps for air.

Domanova shuffled to a stop and crouched on the ground near a gate. The west gate, he remembered--it seemed that they'd replaced it since he'd been "asleep". No matter. He turned pale blue eyes to the watchtower above.

"...it must be nearly lunchtime. And it's possible that I have not eaten a thing in centuries. My word."

Rhys caught Amelia's look and smiled back, pleased he hadn't been too late to the carnival to spend time with friends, especially Amelia. Although, he wondered if he'd get to do more than see her... this was a large enough group of people she'd found, and maybe they wouldn't want too many people along. He could pay for himself, sure, but with so many people...

Still, he came a little closer. Hopefully he'd be allowed to tag along.

Jin had already disappeared into the crowd. He'd sensed the same thing that Rhys had, and decided he wasn't close enough to the group to merit a seat. Besides, Jin preferred eating alone.

Lance merely shrugged at Blossom. "Find it soon...my mind's been deteriorating for years now, and I've been searching for an answer all the while. Twisted memories, insanity, loss of my powers...believe me, when you've lived for as long as I have, you build up quite the repertoire of skills, but since my memory loss disappeared, I lost that as well. You should've seen me 15 years ago...I was so cool that you would've fallen in love with me the moment you laid eyes on me. Can't say that'd happen now..."

Lance sighed before continuing. "I don't know exactly how many years I've actually been looking around, but I do know that technically, I'm not much of a different person from back there. Sometimes, it's as if all those memories are just fake, and I'm still young and healthy like I was when I was in my late teens. Maybe that time when I was that powerful was nothing but a dream, and when I woke up I was back to my normal self. I've been looking for an answer all this time. Whether they be research reports on the brain and the memory, or tomes explaining how the morph process works, I have come up with just about nothing. But then again, there are very little work done about Errants, after all."

Lance got so engrossed with his own story, that he completely forgot that only Aidan knew about his full story, about his heritage and Lance's appearance not matching his age. He still hadn't realized it yet though, so whatever reaction Blossom would have would come as a surprise.

Leon didn't expect the stiletto at all. After all, he'd thought to be facing a sniper, not a ranger. There was no time to dodge, no time to react. Instead the flying object hit in the right place to stun him instantly. The Lieutenant felt the hit to his chest, although it barely went through his chain mail with such a small blade, the impact itself stopped Leon dead in his tracks and lead the knight to collapse on his knees. Gasping for air now, the Guardsman looked up, his vision blurring the colosseum into the people watching. "Ah... no... not yet..."

The axe wielder turned his weapon around to the blunt end, using one of his own favorite techniques with the last bout of strength he had. With the blunt end forward, he jabbed the poleaxe into his opponent's stomach. Afterwards came a smirk, just before he dropped his weapon and thumped to the floor. At least he ain't no mercenary... this is a trained professional...

Victoria flinched, as if she too felt the impact of both weapons. With a blow like that, Arashe was sure to fall soon after, but since Leon fell first, it was likely he'd be declared the loser. Still, such a close fight! The bishop admired both warriors for their honor.

[[Lazy.]]

Blossom studied Lance curiously, blue-grey eyes focused on his face; more specifically, the long scar down one eye. She still found it surprising that he could see despite that scar. Most people would have lost their sight if something had hit them hard enough over an eye to scar.

She listened in silence, absorbing what he told her. Insanity, loss of powers... fifteen years ago, he was cool? But he is already... Blossom watched him sigh, then settled against Aidan's side to keep listening. Morphs... he's a morph? Like Limstella and Ephidel and Sonia? I... he's a morph? I mean, the eyes, but... She blinked up at him, kept her gaze on him.

He's a nice guy... so not all morphs are bad... I mean, yeah, Sonia was mean, and so was Ephidel, and Limstella, but... Lance is a good guy.

Blossom nodded just slightly; the smile on her face was a little hesitant, but it was there, nonetheless. "I see. Well, if we can help... ask us, okay? We're friends. Friends help friends, no matter what." Blossom paused, looked up to Lance's face again, then took a few steps forward and hugged Lance. Sometimes hugs helped things; maybe this would be one of those times. "We'll help if we can."

Durbans noticed Nino, and seeing the open invitation joined in, silently following the group, for he did not know any of them as of yet. But some of them looked quite powerful. Good enough to fight. He might extend an offer to them once he got to know them but he did not want to push it. His eyes were not cold, but they looked beyond the group, focusing on something distant. He was not completely there, one could tell. Upon the battle worn stone mask he wore no emotion, save the look of unfocused and wandering thought. He would occasionally glance at the group to be sure of the direction he was headed, but that was it.

(( Sorry I took so long. x_x;; Too many things going on at once...
And I totally had a game like this at my elementary school carnival... ah, how I miss those days. ;-; <3 ))

Alihi nodded slightly. "Well, if you say so...

Amara, meanwhile, saw a very, very interesting sight. "Ephie! Ephie! Looklooklook!" She pointed at an open booth, more specifically at one of the prizes; a brown, stuffed horse. No, wait. That wasn't what Amara was pointing at! She was pointing at the blue beetle crawling on the horse! "Ooh... Mommy, can I have it and name it Ted?" The little girl asked sweetly, her face bright with curiosity. "And then can I have the horse and name it Straw? Pleeeeeeease?"

Alihi cringed slightly but paid the person running the stand, a guy who appeared to be in his mid thirties. The game was simple enough, depending more on chance than anything else. A huge tub was set up and filled with water and rubber ducks. On the bottom of the rubber ducks were shapes, and the prizes corresponded with the shapes. If you got a circle, then you could choose a circle prize, the same applying for squares, triangles, and stars. "Which one should we pick, Amara?"

"That one!" Amara exclaimed, pointing to a duck slightly smaller than the rest. The tactician nodded slightly, picking it up.

A star. And it just so happens that the horse was a star prize~ Amara squealed happily, babbling about Straw and Ted.

Alihi smiled nervously. Why is she so focused on that beetle...? "Uhm... We'll be taking the beetle as well. In a jar, please."

And so the three walked off once more and Amara gained two new companions: a stuffed horse named Straw and a blue beetle named Ted.

Earth crackled and shook at the surface, something was coming out. Rock sundered and a green hand shot up, half bone, like the Left 4 Dead cover. Charles, Domanova's very old assistant, rose further up, and stood before him. "My beloved!" he called.

The surge of magic left enough not only for the heroes, but for this old friend as well. Even if the subjected case was a revenant, or more accurately, an Entombed. "My beloved, I'm going on hearsay that's probably ages old, but I heard that there is a lovely restaurant just ripe enough for your appetite!" the zombified corpse spoke.

His hair was green and black, spiked and kind of wavy to the wind's touch, and his clothes were ragged from sitting in the ground for years. He stood probably around 4'10", because of his limp stature. He looked like a regular zombie, only his hands had been fashioned into claws that were sharp as iron nails.

He rose quickly to his feet, his hand reaching for Espinne; what in the world was coming out of the ground?! A sickly green hand clawed out of the dirt, stood before him and said something about a restaurant...

No, it couldn't be.

...Charles?

CHARLES!

"Charles, my dear, is it really you?!" he cried, reaching out to embrace him...but stopping short at the sight of him. "Oh dear. You've quite gone to ribbons, my friend. The years have not been well to you, I'm afraid." He tilted his head slightly, looking the Entombed over with the eye of a scientist. "We shall have to find some way to preserve you to prevent further rotting. And a restaurant, you say? You always had excellent taste!" Domanova chuckled. "Shall we be off, then?"
