Caroline grins a mischievous grin and pulls the bottle and glasses out of her basket. The bottle's nearly full. "Me uncle 'as his own distillery. Gave me this wee bottle of scotch when I left 'ome for the last time. Thought it might be nice to ward off the cold for a wee bit. Unless ye don't drink," she says, giving him a thoughtful once-over.
Ro nods. She doesn't know Pierre well either, just seen him around. Full of himself, like boys are. You haven't missed much. She writes with a wry smile, and looks hard at that four of clubs. Finally she shakes her head and draws from the pile. She bounces a little gleefully and puts down three aces--of spades, diamonds, and hearts.

Voltaire laughed a little, "A very kind uncle you have." He sat up a bit now and held out a hand for a glass. "Oh I drink but I never drink alone. I hear it is not healthy to do so..."
Annjette giggled a little at the note and nodded as she drew a card and now spent a moment longer to deliberate at the moment. "What kind of boy would you like to court you?"

"Aye, it isn't, and 'swhy my bottle remains mostly full," she says with a sparkling laugh. She gives him a glass and fills it with the pungent liquid, then fills her own. She corks the bottle and sets it back in her basket. "What shall we toast to?" she asks.
Rojiza takes her pad back and scribbles fervently on it. Evidently she's given this one some thought. Someone spontaneous and dramatic, but not conceited. I'd love someone educated who can make me laugh. He's got to be smoking good-looking, too. She giggles and hands Annjette the paper.

He chuckles as his glass is filled and he nodded. Voltaire paused and swirled the liquid in the glass before speaking, "To our friendship? May it forever blossom."
She took the note while she laid the cards upon her lap in order to read the note and she giggled, "I am sure you will find your dream man someday." Annjette grinned as she took her card back up, shuffling things about..

"Blossom indeed," echos Caroline, clinking her glass with his. "An' this one's a sipper, not a gulper, so dinnae hurt yerself, luv." She knocks back her own glass and then staggers under her next breath. It isn't bad until oxygen hits it afterward. "Me uncle was a bit of an alcoholic--always in his cups," she says with a grin. "That said, he does make a good scotch."
Rojiza sighs dreamily, in an I-hope-so sort of way. She smiles and continues the game.
[seriously, play-by-play not so interesting. xD]

[SURE IT IS]
He smirked, "I can hold m'drink." Voltaire assured her as he sipped from his glass despite his remark he decided to take her advice. Voltaire made no faces and simply let out a small sigh.
Annjette continued on the game with a mild bit of silence hitting between them for the moment. "I don't think I'll find a good man for myself for some reason." She wrinkled her nose.

"Aye," says Caroline. "I've no doubt you can." Her accent seems to get a bit stronger once the alcohol's in her. Just a bit. "Shall we 'ave one more before puttin' 'er away? Wouldn't want t'get unseemly now." She picks up the bottle again and, uncorking it, offers it to Voltaire.
Ro frowns. Why not? she scribbles indignantly. What man wouldn't want you, Annjette? You should have your pick! You're smart and witty and cunning, and God knows you're lovely. You could have any man you want! She offers the pad to her friend and crosses her arms over her chest, as if her point is made.
[Ro: Q.E.D. I WIN. xD]

Voltaire laughs a bit, "Well even if we get 'unseemly' I am sure we could trust the most sober person to take care of the other." He winked and offered up his glass for a refill. His cheeks had become a bit red from the affects of the alcohol though he did not yet slur his speech.
Annjette blinked at her friend's scribbling before she finally takes the pad and reads it. The card game mostly forgotten. The swan girl blushes modestly as she shifts her shoulders a bit before she confided, "W..What if I become a bad person later? There is that potential isn't there?" She bit her lower lip a bit before handing her pad back. "Maybe I am scared for no reason...I guess in a way I am scared it'll eat me up one day..."

Caroline pours his glass and hers before setting the bottle back in her basket and sticking the cork in firmly. "Aye, there's that. What shall we drink to this time?" she asks, swirling the scotch gently in its little glass.
Rojiza makes a thinking face and ponders this for a bit. Her posture is slouchy as she hunches over her pad: Well, the fact that you're concerned about it means you should be fine, right? I mean, they say only those with souls are concerned about them. She shrugs to herself and then continues. But don't worry too much. We're all here to help. Me especially. And Solas.

He swirled his own glass for a moment before he acted. Voltaire waited until she had settled back again. He waited until the question passed her lips before he leaned toward her and planted a light kiss upon her lips. The kiss was brazen, because it was out in the open, but it was also chaste because it hadn't lasted long. Voltaire let out a deep breath after the act was committed and said, "We shall toast to my courage to kiss a pretty woman such as you."
Annjette pondered over the words before smiling and nodding. "I know you all wouldn't let it eat me alive, whatever it is..." She seemed comforted for now. "No matter what happens I am sure you all will be beside me, I hope."

Caroline is...floored...momentarily by this. How long had it been since she'd been courted? Hell, or since she'd courted someone else? "A-aye, well," she stammers, her cheeks and nose flushing pink, and then to red. "A toast to that." She lifts her glass for a moment, letting it clink with his, and drains it of liquid once more. Already she can feel the fiery liquid soothing her reservations away. Not enough to befuddle her, just enough to relax a bit.
Rojiza nods and smiles at her friend. That's what family is for.

Glasses clinked together and he just simply sipped at his rather than draining it. He didn't seem apologetic or regretful of what he did, if anything he appeared to be obscenely pleased with himself. He had shown himself and Caroline, whether or not he wanted to, that he was interested in someone outside of himself and his daughter.
Annjette smiled and nodded back. "It is. I am blessed to have such a large family." It is one of the few times Annjette had ever counted herself among 'the blessed'.

Caroline shivers a bit despite the warm alcohol coursing through her at the moment. "Och. Well." She's still a bit flustered, but in a good way. He kissed me! She repeats in her head. Caroline must admit to herself she'd be interested in doing more than kissing, but that might be the scotch. Although, she hadn't had that much. Only two shots. Maybe she'd play it safe and just steal another kiss from him. The thought gives her goosebumps, and she hugs herself to keep from shivering again.
Rojiza smiles. As Mama would say, "Aye, that ye are." She giggles at her representation of her mother's accent. She wonders if she would have picked it up too, if she'd have been able to speak.

"Well?" He raised an eyebrow as he finished off the rest of his glass all the while he observed her and her shivering with some concern. Certainly they were on a blanket and it could keep them warm enough...Still it seemed rude to be in such close proximity to where they could go inside. "You cold? Want to go inside and continue our chat?" Voltaire acted innocent almost as if he were innocent of the kiss he had just given her.
The swan-girl gave a laugh at the note and shook her head. "You would have made a fine story-teller, I think."

Caroline looks up to the darkened sky. It's overcast tonight--no stars. "Aye, the stars are hidin', and surely it'd be warmer in your wagon." She starts to stand up, shaking out her skirt.
Rojiza smiles, perhaps a little sadly. Do you think I'll ever speak? She offers the paper to her friend.
