Sister Victoria

PostPosted: Fri Dec 19, 2008 1:24 pm

Victoria was tensed up, there was no doubt about that. She remembered this sort of chaos, and the feeling of being trapped. She remembered it all. It was just like back then, just like the fall of her previous Church and Order of Elmine. The Wyvern Riders came from the skies, raining spears on the Holy Guard by surprise. The Bishops were cut down mercilessly before their spells could even be a thought of casting...

The survivors only lived through laying down by their fallen brothers and sisters.

If one thing was certain, the priestess did not want to see that happen, never again. She grabbed her purge tome from the sets of inventory being kept, and she uttered the words for the spell. With it, she sniped a gargoyle that would have otherwise crashed through the window. She was preparing to make another shot with it.

Renault blinked in momentary surprise as a scroll dropped into his hands. He looked around, and saw nobody nearby. This puzzled him a bit; but he might as well read the scroll. He opened it, and his eyes widened. What was this? It seemed to be some sort of skill scroll for bishops. . . how odd. "Slayer"? Now what was that? However, he sat back to read it. It seemed as if it would be quite useful in their situation.

Damn. By the sound of it, he didn't have much time; creatures seemed to already be coming at them. But this scroll would. . .

Flying over the blizzard, Fiora's teeth were chattering. "Why didn't I wear my warmer armor, it's freez-z-in-g-g out here!" Suddenly shapes took shape on the horizen, thinking "Why in the world must my sisters travel such distance, can't we all just stay together?" Suddenly Fiora hurtles towards the ground, feeling blood on her arm and seeing an arrow fly by. "WHAT!? Where did those arrows come from, and who fired them..." she thought as she fainted, falling from her Pegasus and towards the ground.

"One Heal staff, one Light tome, a roll of bandages... Mend staff... huh?"

Rhys turned to Renault.

"O-oh, my... are these what I think they are?"

Rhys stared at the tomes with perhaps a hint of lust.

"...Luce... Aureola! Wow! To think that I should even be standing in the same ROOM as these! I... I...

I'm not worthy," he finished, shaking his head. "I can wield a standard Light tome, that much is true. But, I have yet to achieve Bishop status. I may be experienced, but I've grown rusty over the years, and I've let my skills fall slack. Only now am I beginning to work my way back up.

Rhys' hand shook slightly as quill reached parchment.

"Luce and Aureola... I'm amazed..."

Amelia leaped up where she stood as Victoria whipped open a tome and immediately cast a spell, creating a huge burst of light off in the distance.

"What was that?" she half-shouted, looking to the window. As she saw the dead Gargoyle crash to the snow, Amelia's eyes widened. Formortiis' beasts were coming at Fefga's house. They were coming, and most everyone was busy sleeping, recovering from illness or the battle, or they were taking inventory. Victoria was on the ball, having gotten the spellbook, but what of the others?

"I'm going to check out the door to see how close they are," Amelia told Victoria. "These creatures are weak to your kind of magic, so keep going with the Purge. That was excellent aim, by the way," she told the woman in a hurried breath before running for the door. She had no weapon in her hand, no armor, but she knew where the armory room was, and it would be a quick matter to at least grab a warm jacket and a lance before going back outside if necessary. Amelia grabbed the front door handle and, hoping the snow hadn't piled against the door, threw it open to look outside.

「 The boy had been travelling along corridors not unlike those of his counterpart, albeit different just the same. Coming to a door covered in dust, the sage set about trying to open it. Unfortunatly for him, the door would not budge, and sages were not known for their strength. Sighing heavily, the boy made a mental note to look into opening that door as soon as was possible. There may be some provisions that had withstood the trials of time. If the state of that door was any indication... He mused to himself, as he set out down another stretch of hallway. The room within hasn't been used in decades, perhaps centuries. That door hasn't been moved in some time...I can't help wondering what could be housed within. Perhaps some tomes of great power...even some sort of records detailing a way to fight our mysterious enemies...

I'm sure everyone is taking care of what needs to be done...I sent enough people to the important tasks, and anyone left idle will soon find something to occupy them...

I hope King Tibarn isn't too irked with me for taking things into my own hands...Everyone just seemed to accept my directions as they came, without question...

I hope I didn't miss any important details...Was there something I didn't think of? Could I have erred in my directions...?

「 The boy was lost to his thoughts, as he rounded a corner. Passing a yet unbroken window, the sage was startled out of his musings by a piercing whinny. That sounded close! Turning his attention outside, the sage was just in time to catch the plummeting shape of a pegasus, falling from the sky and landing in a deep snow drift. 」

「 Jumping to action, the boy rushed back to the main room, "King Tibarn! A Pegasus Knight! Outside!"

Renault looked up at Rhys again, diverting his attention from the parchment, then nodded. "Yes, that is exactly what they are," he told the priest. "I've kept them ever since that incident. . . the other weapons were kept by everyone else. Hector kept the Basilikos, Eliwood the Rex Hasta. . . Forblaze, I hid away myself. None can use it other than Athos anyway." He shook his head. "In any case, I hesitate to use them unless absolutely necessary; I don't want them damaged. But if you cannot use them I will hold onto them." The bishop stood, placing the tomes and his other equipment back into his bag, then returning his attention to the scroll as he moved forward. "Oh, by the way. That red-haired girl seems to be slightly injured, would you mind taking care of her?" He gestured off towards Anna, who stood to one side.

Nometal looked up, noticing that someone had entered the armory, and dashed out to see what was up.

Anna blinked. "Wha-? Who, me?" She waved one hand nervously. "N-no, I'm perfectly fine! Don't waste your time on me!" She tried to walk away, but after a few steps ended up falling on her face again. "Ow! This... this floor must be uneven!"

「 +Anna, did you read the last few pages? I was trying to include you. Felt bad about bashing you in the OOC thread. If you get healed, you should go help tally up supplies~.+ 」

Archdruid Bramimond

PostPosted: Fri Dec 19, 2008 1:41 pm

((lol, when people were talking about spellcasters who gave up their souls for power, I'm surprised Bramimond didn't get mentioned.))

Bramimond went through his own inventory in his mind. "I am in possession of one Flux tome, one Nosferatu tome, one Shine tome, one Fire tome, and the mighty tomes Gespenst and Ereshkigal. I believe that young pantsless shaman has my Apocalypse tome...he may keep it, for now. I also have a Mend staff, and I placed an Elfire tome for Melethia, wherever she is now."

He turned to speak a word to Renault. "I am able to use the Forblaze tome, if it is needed. My mastery of Anima magic is far behind that of Archsage Athos, but I can at least use it, if needed."

Bramimond whipped around when the window was shattered, in a state of surprise most unlike him. "They are following us, even here...? That was a fantastic shot, Victoria." Bramimond turned to Tibarn, who seemed to be some sort of impromptu leader here. "My lord, should we send a party outside? There might be some survivors out there....", he half mumbled, half declared, his personality feeding off of Tibarn's aura of competence and confidence.

"No, that isn't it. Forblaze is nowhere near here; in fact, it is back on the Dread Isle," the bishop told Bramimond. "I placed it within the ruins there; I wished to hide it somewhere that none would ever look for it. In any case, it won't do us any good now, since we cannot reach it." With one last glance down at the scroll, Renault completed his reading; a moment later, the scroll burst into flame and burned to ashes in his hand. The surprised bishop looked at the ashes for a moment, then shook his head, scattering them to the ground. He'd learned what he needed to know.

With another pronouncing of the holy verses, Victoria cranked out yet another Purge spell. Even if she had only four more shots left... that would be four more beasts the would have had do deal with if she didn't fire them. "Thanks..." she said to Brammimond and Amelia about their compliments. "I've been practicing..." With that, she unleashed another.

The Scripts of Strategy

Soren had found parchment, a quill, and a bottle of ink to help keep track of what he found in the storage room. He counted off spare vulneraries and elixirs, scratching tick marks into the parchment, using the wall as a surface. Soren also took note of a few curious bands here and there. There were a few blankets that had been discarded in the room, a stack of magic cards (mostly reaper cards by the looks of it), antitoxins, more parchment...

The mage was not certain if there was a treasury within this particular building. While FEF Castle undoubtedly held one, it was occupied by their icy visitor. He sighed quietly to himself, unaware of the monsters surrounding them, his senses cut off by the thick walls of the storage room. Though he heard the cries of demons he assumed they were in some safe distance.
