A beautiful roaring scream, of joy and sorrow so extreme...

She eyes him dubiously, not at all convinced that he would even be able to name an elven city, let alone find one. Not to mention that the elven kingdoms were incredibly far away. It would take them weeks, even on their fastest horses, to make that trek.

"Um.. how do you plan on traveling? By horse?"

He nods his head, "More than likely. Times are dangerous now, it would be foolhardy to travel by foot with so few. Oh, I forgot to mention. There are only going to be four or five of us on this little venture. It will be much easier to move about that way without gaining the attention of the Paladin's Rod."

When Heron turns around to grab another parcel, he is very much shocked be smacked with a bag of flour. He shakes his head and raspberries. He coughs and glares at her, "Oh! Why you little..." He stops mid sentence. He suddenly remembered that they were, in fact, in a kitchen. He looks around and finds a small bucket of water in the corner.

He gives his sister a catty grin, and shifts his eyes toward the bucket obviously. He wanted her to see it and know what it was he was about to do with the contents.

Her triumphant grin pales suddenly as she notices his intentions with the bucket. Letting out a soft squeak, she quickly rambles off a chant, her hand flinging out to point towards the object of his attentions.

A tiny but powerful gust of wind springs up around the bucket, not strong enough to lift or move it, but instead causing the contents to freeze, leaving it a solid block of ice.

Talise simply stared at him for a moment, amazed. He really had no idea what he was getting himself into. The thought perturbed her. She didn't want to be stuck riding weeks on end to go right back to the lands she's had just come from. That would take forever and would be exceedingly dull. Then, as if a light bulb had suddenly clicked in her mind, she remembered something.

"Perhaps I could be of more assistance than you planned. There is... a better way to travel over distances like that."

Heron's shoulders slump, "Aw, you're no fun at all. You're lucky that we're related or I would brain you with that ice. Don't forget that it's nothing more than solid water."

Ky brightens up. He smiles at Talise, somehow knowing she would know of a quicker way than horseback. "Is that so, and what do you suggest?"

Nae tries to look confident, but she still watches him suspiciously, slowly moving around the counter so she can keep an eye on him. After all, it -was- just solid water, and water was still his forte. She knew he would get her back one way or the other, probably when she least expected it. This was one of the many games they played.

"We really should focus on finishing up this task." She tells him earnestly. "We've already broken her counter. We do not want to give her any more reasons why she should send us home before breakfast."

She shifts faintly in her seat and glances up at the sky, struggling with the decision before her. Does she possibly share one of her best kept secrets, or does she submit to a grueling and dreadfully boring hike through hill and dale just to visit a place that she's been to a million times?

"Well.. we would have to find a.. friend of mine."
She begins hesitantly. "And we would have to have a hefty payment to offer, but if we could manage it, she would get us there so much faster. She could turn weeks into days."

Heron watches her carefully. Oh he would get her back for this, maybe not right now, but before the sunset definitely. His stomach growls, bringing him out of his vengeful thinking. He sighs and returns to resizing the packages.

"When you're right, you're right. Let's finish this up quickly so we can eat."

Heron re-sizes his share of the parcels. He then goes around the kitchen opening all the cupboards so he can figure out where everything goes. Once he has a firm grasp on it he turns to Nae, "Okay, I think I have this figured out. Start handing me the cooking supplies."

Ky smiles broadly, "Splendid, that will make our venture that much easier. I knew I could count on you Lady Talise. How about you Evaline, will you come with us?"

She nods, grateful that he has agreed to hold off on his revenge until hopefully they are well away from any breakables belonging to the Kae'dryn. She also begins to attend to the other packages, knowing that her brother must be struggling with them just as much as she. It was strange trying to find a loose end in someone else's spell. Since it was cast by another person, they were not as familiar with it as they would be their own. The experience was especially interesting because even though she now knew so much more about the spell, it still felt foreign when woven by another caster's hands.

Heron's voice snaps her from her thoughts, and she looks over at him with a blink or two. Nodding at his request, she starts assembly lining the various items that need to be put away.

Never mistake tears for sadness...
Eva watches the conversation, not caring to take part and even when directly adressed does not immediately answer. To spend such a long time away from the main group and, consequently, away from anyway news of the outside world...but then, did she really have any choice? She doubted that she would be allowed any sort of free reign if she were to remain. It might even serve her interests to go and see this elven city. Her fingers curled into fists at that thought though her expression remained calm. A small part of her realized Ky had not deigned to call her 'lady' and laughed silently as she finally replied.

"It is well enough that I should join you though I will be no help in convincing them one way or another."

The thought then occured to her to question the mode of transportation she had seemingly just agreed to but it was dismissed immediately. She would see that soon enough.
...that will only bring you grief.

Ky maintains his smile and speaks confidently, "I would not worry too much about that. If you can offer any sort of diplomatic assistance that would be very helpful. If not, then your skill with the bow is more than enough to help us in our mission. It pleases me that you are both eager to help me on this mission. I feel we will make great strides in building bridges that connect our two cultures together. It is a glorious feeling to know that we may be remembered in the great history logs, as the people who started a grand union to rid our world of this monster. Perhaps when the Paladin's Rod has received word of this great accomplishment, then we will be able to band together once again and cast that blackened creature back to the depths of Hell from whence it came!" He exclaims as he raises his right fist into the sky.

As he delivered his speech, his intensity and passion for justice increase his volume and vibrato. Once he is done he looks around, noticing that his men are staring at him. His face flushes, and he lowers his hand, clearing his throat.

All around Ky and the two women, they can hear the men chuckle and whisper.

"Looks like someone got Sir Kiske got wound up again."

"That's our leader for ya."

"Someone should be writing what he says down."

"You didn't know? Sampson in 3rd platoon has three entire scrolls of Sir Kiske's power talks."

"Tell 'em 'ow it is, Sir Kiske! Show 'em th' spirit of youth"

"Shh, don't encourage him or no one's going to sleep tonight."

Heron begins diligently storing the items that naelonni set out. After putting away a few things he says, "So, what do you think of the Kae'dryn? I don't know about you, but she kind of scares me a little. When we first saw her she made me feel like I was meeting some kind of fairy tale character. Someone we had heard a lot of different things about, but didn't know fact from fiction. Next thing I know, I feel all the blood rush away from my face because she can see everything we do and say."

{Rizel}

[Sorry about my delays! Now that it's spring break, I hope to make up for my lack of posts.]

Having had her absentminded trance interrupted by a loud but familiar sound - or was it a voice? - Rizel gave a abrupt start the way a dog does when it is suddenly woken.

Instantly falling into panic mode, she remained completely still, save for her crystalline blue eyes. She absorbed her surroundings and processed them quickly.

It’s some sort of camp… men… soldiers?…

Hoping desperately she had not been captured (and she shuddered at the thought), Rizel took notice that she was not bound, as a prisoner should’ve been. Feeling minimally relieved, she sat up. Rizel instantly felt dizzy and disorientated, though passed after a few uncomfortable moments.

Her eyes scanned for an area absent of people with which to escape, but found Ky, Eva, and Talise. Partially relieved and partially dismayed, she made no move to capture their attention.
