The Southern Gate:City Defense As these forces appeared, they would be met with a fearsome resistance from the cannons, the shells capable of traveling WELL over 700MPH, meaning the shells would collide with the beasts before they even heard the sound of the cannonfire, and explode over an area of roughly several hundered meters. Easily enough penetrating force to rip through the slugs, and detonate, vaporizing their frail and gelatinous bodies into nothingness. The bodies of the slugs may have been gelatinous, but they were anything but frail. Not to mention this breed was raised to five times the size of a blue whale. Rounds moving that fast would penetrate through the slugs, exploding underneith them and not inside them. The force of the blasts absorbed by their underbellies as if cushioned. Far from being reduced to nothingness, they had been reduced by about one-fith their original size as they continued. The Northern Gate:Quote: It would explode into nothingness as a well-placed cannon shot entered the beast, and detonated, vaporizing the beast. It wouldn't have a chance in hell to avoid with the extremely close distance the shot would have to travel, and also due to a simple fact of moving in a jump through the air. Your trajectory was set once you committed yourself to that final hop. The trajectory was commited, and the beast, imagine a beast five times the size of a blue whale jumping at you, took the high explosives dead center. While it was in midair, the gelatinous internal slush took the form of a heavy duty trampoline that caught the shell softly, then snapped back, sending the shell back into the city. Any other shell hitting the slug in or near the center would be gratefully returned in the same manner. Western Towers:The attack here had served its purpose of diverting some of the guns from the slugs, and that was all that was really hoped for. The remains of the force would dart back and forth, drawing fire and killing whatever could be killed. The watchers would simply wait for the best oppurtunity to cause havoc.

"She's a hostile! OPEN FIRE!"
Lilith looked up in time to see some guards posted on a rooftop aim their rifles at her. She quickly darted back into the safety of the mausoleum, as the hail of bullets tore up the corpse of the guard. "There goes that plan," she muttered.
She figured her cover to be blown now, what with how loud the gunshots were. Backup would likely be on the way. The corpses she had raised earlier were now climbing out of their graves, as well as the guard she had just slain, and they would provide her cover for at least a few moments. She began chanting words to a spell.

"A team - East tower! B team - West tower!"
The orders were simple and accompanied by a hand motion; every member of the division already knew what he meant even without the spoken instructions. They had trained and worked under the man for what felt like years, and in that time they had learned to operate in unison, almost like a school of fish.
The two collumns split, the left heading left, the right heading right; moving to either side of the Southern Gate to ascend the wall through the nearest watchtowers.
Heading up the collumn of soldiers climging the West side of the wall was Captain Endin. While his manner and orders were still those of a calm, collected individual, the anticipation of battle showed in his face. Not fear, not anxiety... but the stoic expression of a seasoned veteran, knowing exactly what type of hell they were about to walk into.

Ryugi Kazamaru EdwardYaitsIII Yarneth was no fool, he knew the gate would be locked... But he must have been aware of the guards protecting the city walls. As he moved to approach the city gates, the fire from automatic weapons would launch towards his position, aiming to kill him on the spot. He was another target, but seemed to hols some significance, as he was the only one that seemed to have made it to the gates, and who seemed ready to attack. Attention all ground Forces!! Priority targets HAVE been established. Target the large slug-like creatures and the entity that has made himself known at the front gates! I repeat! Priority Targets have been established! Attack the slug-like creatures and the entity attacking the front gates!Yarneth wasn't attacking he was just standing there, but once the fire from automatic weapons came he stood calmly, quickly moving his arms as he seemed to catch the bullets with on hand. He was actually freezing them, allowing them to disintigrate into harmless microscopic beads against his palm. It was time to complete the opening move. Quote: Absolute Chill- Is capable of chilling an area to almost absolute zero for a short amount of time. For an ordinary human, it is much like being dipped in liquid nitrogen. Yarneth can encompass large areas in subzero chill. The chill can be formed as a form of controled energy and launched at targets. (5cp) (2post ct) Already poweredA beam of bright energy shot from his palm, hitting the gate dead center and freezing it to absolute zero down to the last molecule with-in seconds. The attack would last ten seconds, and when it was over, the gate itself and the walls flanking it for a half a kilometer from the center would be frozen to a temperature of almost absolute zero, a temperature that rendered the most refined steel into shaped dust. Anything on or near that section of the wall would be disintigrated by temperatures cold as the most empty regions of space. By now, Yarneth knew he had already attracted the fire of the heavy artilary. Quote: Shields of Ice- These ice shield float around Yarneth, protecting him from attacks without him having to hold a shield. (1cp)(1post ct) Ice crystalized instantly, floating above and around Yarneth. The ice acted automatically, of its own accord, to protect the master and his single stone golem. Approaching artilary would be redirected or exploded harmlessly in midair because of the ice sheilds. Which were slates about five meters wide, five meters long, and one meter thick. If disintigrated, they took only a few minutes to reform from other ice crystals in the air. Quote: Breath of Ice- A large area of effect attack to target massed opponents. A combination of Ice and wind. (1cp)(1post ct) A massive gust of blizard force winds blew in from behind Yarneth. The wind hit the frozen dust wall at 250 kilometers an hour. The swath of wall Yarneth had frozen blew away like the dust it was. Anyone in the path of the winds would be stripped of their body heat and blown away. A swath of destruction would be all that was left of the western section of the outer city. "Knock knock," Yarneth said, his eyes glowing frozen blue as he walked calmly into the outer city, "Guess who's there."

The Southern Gate:EdwardYaitsIII The bodies of the slugs may have been gelatinous... And that is EXACTLY what would be their downfall. For gealatinous objects are torn to shreds and ripped asunder by speeding projectiles. Once the rounds penetrated the slugs, the turbulent air that followed behind the shells would push outward, ripping the beasts insides apart as the shells connected with their bodies, the exact same thing that would happen to a human body under the influence of a large enough projectile. The force from such projectiles can often rip a human body in half, and that was simple without the explosion that would vaporize much of the slug's bodies. For, a blue whale was only about 100 feet long. And the shells could explode in a radius of several hundred meters. A meter was roughly 3 feet. Meaning if the slugs were roughly 500 feet long, they would only add up to roughly 152 meters in size, which meant that the magical shell would detonate with more than enough firepower to rip, tear, and otherwise shred the beasts into such small bits, they'd practically cease to exist. The Northern Gate:EdwardYaitsIII The trajectory was commited, and the beast, imagine a beast five times the size of a blue whale jumping at you, took the high explosives dead center. While it was in midair, the gelatinous internal slush... Would be rendered to nothing as the superior force of the detonating shell, would annihilate it. A weapon would have even MORE force applied to the projectile if the target was closer to the weapon, meaning that the same thing would happen as before with the slugs at the main gates. The shell would rip the beast apart as it entered its body, and then detonate within the carcass, ripping the beast apart from the inside out, and turning it into negligible remains. Western Towers:EdwardYaitsIII The attack here had served its purpose of diverting some of the guns from the slugs, and that was all that was really hoped for. The remains of the force would dart back and forth, drawing fire and killing whatever could be killed. The watchers would simply wait for the best oppurtunity to cause havoc. The forces would continue to fire on the moving targets, the cannons NOT focused on the slugs would continue to fire at the quickly dwindling number of ground troops.

The first three slugs disintigrated, but not completely, millions of small slugs had been created by the explosions. Anything that was a lump of flesh would still have life, wether it was a remain half an inch across, or several meters long and wide. The little slugs would dive into the ground, and as most of the underground explosives had already gone off and what remained would not be set off by creatures barely bigger than the average mole, badger, or even earth worm.
The slug that had exploded in the air became thousands of little slugs raining over the city, the wall, and the plain. Some would hit the sheilds, disintigrating, others would land in the outer or inner city, immediatly going underground by instinct, some would land on the walls and squirm around, other would land on the flesh of anyone who was exposed and gain power by eating them. Many more would land outside the gates, they would converge and do their thing as well.
They were immune to fire, flames fed them, so anyone who tried it would find burning was out of the question. The only problem, Yarneth had lost control over them, they would now act on instinct, doing as they pleased unless Yarneth devoted a good deal of energy to harness them.

Apparently needed a lesson in physics. Cold temperatures, even those that would be qualified as "Absolute Zero," do not have the property or ability to instant-dissolve solid objects, nor turn them into "shaped dust." In fact, it would likely reinforce the metal itself to make it "harder." A "solid is a group of molecules that are tightly packed together, where the molecules have extremely tiny little vibrational movements. Liquids and gases differ from solids in that they are not as tightly packed, and have more atomic vibration. Returning to the point at hand, a wall of solid metal would actually be reinforced by becoming colder, because the molecules would pull even tighter together, and there would be NO vibration whatsoever. "Absolute[ly] Zero." This same property would apply to the bullets that were speeding toward Yarneth's hands and body. Rather than simply "poofing," they would become even denser than their already extremely dense state, and therefore still continue forward, pummeling into his icy, rocky tissue paper of a body, and ripping him many a new hole, possibly weakening his body's structure, integrity, and efficiency in producing upcoming attacks.

((Wrong, but I will gather more info and argue this point somewhere else. Only light elements such as hydrogen, helium, and certain molecular gasses are reinforced by extreme cold, others are packed so stiffly as to become brittle, rendering the molecular structure unstable and liable to disintigration at the slightest buffet, especially carbon and iron.))

EdwardYaitsIII The first three slugs disintigrated, but not completely, millions of small slugs had been created by the explosions... The remaining slugs would be hit by yet MORE cannon shots, as the first few shots were sent by a few cannons. And within ten seconds, the second blasts would hit the ground where the slugs had once been, carving out massive craters in the ground where they hit, and turning the ground into dust, the slugs being vaporized in the process. Since the resulting blast from the first cannon shots would have sent the slug bits into the air, the second blasts would hit roughly the same area at about the time the little slugs would have been hitting the ground.

(( This is your entire argument... except that for something brittle to shatter, it has to be broken. You can't shatter a diamond with a breeze, despite how solid and brittle it is. You're going to need to actually hit it pretty hard in order to do more than refrigerate. Not to mention that it's certainly not a flimsy thing in any way; it's what... 20 meters thick? Not exactly snapping icicles. )) As they ascended, the troops on the Western side would notice the temperature dropping suddenly. By command of the Captain, troops rushed the rest of the way up; even as the walls around them turned into a perverse icebox that chilled even the air they were breathing. To counter the chill; Captain Endin paused for just a moment - and raised the interior temperature of that hallway to a balmy 87 degrees farenheit.
The men rushed out onto the top of the wall; glad to be out of that frigid hell.
The men who had headed into the East tower were not so lucky. Captain Endin was not there to save them, and though Lt. Steele gave the same order and the men rushed as quickly as they could to the top in order to get away from the freeze, not all of them made it. Some grew weak in the cold, some tripped and fell. One stopped to help another up, but neither could stand only seconds later. It was suicide for any of the men to stop for one who had fallen, they were already dead.
Of the 16 men that went in, only 11 came out alive.

Fa walked through the giant door, his guess had been good but not perfect. For there he stood in the center of a large hall. Who could have known that the hall he was entering was the great entrance hall of the Tower. As expected at a time like this, the hall was full of solider running to and fro delivering messages and hurrying to their post.
"Kill them all! Kill them all!" yelled Ruhin.
Fa put one finger to his mouth hoping to hush his friend but to no avail. It would be enough to drive a person insane and alert all the guards in the tower, that is if anyone else could hear him.
Fa feeling that he may be able to get out of this place without dying, decided that his best bet would be to play innocent. So as he walked in he perposely stumbled to the nearest wall and made it appear as if he could not walk well due to injuries or some such thing.
As he moved through the hall large hall he made himself seem to struggle. He would get closer and closer to the door. Though at the rate he was going it would take him some time to get there. So while he was working his way around he would think up a plan to get through the main door of the tower.

Darshendros the Eternal "She's a hostile! OPEN FIRE!" Lilith looked up in time to see some guards posted on a rooftop aim their rifles at her. She quickly darted back into the safety of the mausoleum, as the hail of bullets tore up the corpse of the guard. "There goes that plan," she muttered. As soon as the guards noticed her running back into the shrine, several of them tossed grenades down the hallway, hoping the concussive blasts would damage their foe. As the spare zombies came to move towards the attacking guards, they too, would be shot to pieces by the guns held by the men. In the end, it was a battle of superior numbers. For each guard that was injured by the zombies, many could rush in to kill the ones that remained, and still have enough firepower to kill their zombified comrades.

((Hallway?)) Lilith maintained her concentration despite the concussive shocks from the grenades, none of which were either not thrown far enough or not accurately enough to come in through mausoleum's doorway. Waving her hands in intricate patterns, she recited the final words of her spell. Quote: Summon Monster VIII Conjuration (Summoning) [see text] Level: Clr 8, Sor/Wiz 8 Components: V, S, F/DF Casting Time: 1 round Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels) Effect: One summoned creature Duration: 1 round/level (D) Saving Throw: None Spell Resistance: No
This spell summons an extraplanar creature (typically an outsider, elemental, or magical beast native to another plane). It appears where you designate and acts immediately, on your turn. It attacks your opponents to the best of its ability. If you can communicate with the creature, you can direct it not to attack, to attack particular enemies, or to perform other actions. "Kill them all." A Vrock - an eight foot tall winged demon that looked like a giant, nightmarish demon bird - suddenly appeared in front of the mausoleum door. The fiendish bird-thing emitted an ear-splitting, stunningly loud screech, which may or may not stun all of the guards remaining. All the guards that would be stunned would likely be ripped to shreds as the Vrock tore through their ranks in a bloody, berserk rage, spewing masses of spores from it's body as it swung it's claws and pecked with it's sharp, pointed beak, and bit at the guards. That would be Lilith's cue to get the hell out of Dodge. She spoke a single word, "Draconis,"... Quote: Word of Recall Conjuration (Teleportation) Level: Clr 6, Drd 8 Components: V Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: Unlimited Target: You and touched objects or other willing creatures Duration: Instantaneous Saving Throw: None or Will negates (harmless, object) Spell Resistance: No or Yes (harmless, object)
Word of recall teleports you instantly back to your sanctuary when the word is uttered (in this case, the temple in Necropolita). ...and vanished.
