Andy would have loved to yell back at Ixpath about how he wasn't useless, but he didn't. Because he didn't hear a word that Ixpath said. All of his attention was on the thing ahead of him, inside the labyrinth. It wasn't unlike what Ixpath had just mentioned. About four feet tall and the same in diameter, it was truly a ball of tentacles. With oily black skin that oozed a foul-smelling green liquid and several cloudy white eyes, one might say that it was an octopus from hell. It must have had terrible eyesight, because it only noticed Andy when it came near. The smell of human -well, at least half-human- filled its olfactory pores, and it went into a fury. Uttering a cry that sounded halfway between roar and belch, it launched itself at Andy. He didn't have time to draw his sword before it began to latch onto his face. One tentacle went around his head to cover his eyes. A second one latched onto his nose and mouth to halt breathing. A third snaked around his neck and began to constrict his throat. All this happened in only a second, as Andy finished drawing his sword and tried to swing. He could no longer take in breaths, and everything started to go dark...
Until, miraculously, his sword made contact with soft flesh. The horror hissed and flinched back, allowing Andy to take a gasp of precious air. Quickly recovering from the blow, the monster tightened its grip again and began to add more tentacles to the constriction. Throwing himself to the ground, Andy began thrashing in a desperate attempt to get free of the beast. It would not give in, though, even though Andy had managed to land several more blows.

Korsu stared at the brawl, clutching his sword hilt tightly. You've got to be kidding. I could cleave that thing in two! And I would, if that idiot hadn't provoked it first!

Ixpath leaped up from his seat, roaring; "Danmit, always getting in trouble, just like I said! Dros-o-Khala!" A green lightning bolt shot towards the aptly named 'Horror' but mysteriously bounced off, reflecting towards Ixpath. Striking him, he flew backwards some twenty feet, then lightning started to arc from chair to chair. A magical misfire, or Wild Magic, as one might call it. "Danm... Magical resistance... I should have guessed that wouldn't do much against a Shuggoth." Standing up again, the air around Ixpath started turning the color Octarine, shining all the colors of the rainbow, and then some. "Necronomisis!" Claws, sharp and bladed, flicked out of the ground. Many skeletons pulled themselves out of the ground, wearing hand-claws and meager armor. Most threw themselves on the thing, but a few bothered to slash the tentacles holding Andy and pull him out of the writhing storm. Then they, too, leaped into the fray.

((By the way, i'm calling this monster a Shuggoth, because that's what they sound like; The monstrous race in Call of Cthulu.))

Although Andy could not see the summoned creatures, he could sense them in the back of his mind. Perfect, he thought. More freaks to try and kill me. Amazingly, these freaks began to attack the Shuggoth. The tentacles stiffened as they were punctured by razor claws, then loosened, or even severed completely. Diving out of the fray, Andy darted a glance at Ixpath, then back at the skeletons. He hated that fact that he was thankful. Twirling his sword, soaked in discolored blood, he waited for an opening in the slashing mass and stabbed. The Shuggoth gave one last nerve-wrenching gasp, and it collapsed to the ground, finished.
Andy cleaned his sword, then hung his head in shame, waiting for the reprimanding that he knew was coming.

The GM had to smirk at Dion's rather crude comments. He was glad Sorika was out killing other things. She probably would have jumped on the poor Player no questions asked. She hated to see Players treat the GM with disrespect. It was no surprise. After all Sorika had been with the GM for the longest amount of time.

"You are in my world, now. To put this simply, you're in a video game of sorts. Fight the monsters, beat the boss and advance to the next level. Beat the game, and you win your freedom... But lose and you pay with your life."

Marquis had been notified of this new arrival and would be expecting him.

Kiba sighed. She had watched Andy jump into the Labyrinth by himself. Obviously that didn't end well and wasn't the smartest choice, because Ixpath had jumped in right after him. She stood up, and peered into the portal, but not jumping in quite yet. "We probably should help them."

Dion Zeromus
Demon Commando
Location: Unknown [GM's Chambers]]/color]
Status:
HP: 100%
SP: 100%
Mental Status: Pissed and interested

Dion was about to pull his weapon, when the offer was given. "Eh? You mean, play hte part of a dandilion? Nah, Don't think so bub. I don't do hero gigs." Dion states. He had plenty of weapons with him, but to the unknowing eye, it would seem he had only 1. Dion though, wasn't gonna trust this guy with a transgalactic long pole, not until he heard a better offer. "Give me something more, lucative, and maybe, just maybe, we can have a deal. What do you say b*****d?" Dion said, placeing b*****d where the name should have been, since he hadn't gotten one. Who knew, if he got a better deal for power and money, he could easily defect from his current Overlord. Hey, business is business, who is Dion to deny that?

The GM sighed. Dion might make a good Reaper someday. The GM didn't know what Dion was capable of and even if he did make him a Reaper as is he didn't know whether he would betray him or not. It was safer to place him in the game, and then resurrect him as Reaper, with no prior memory of any life he had before this. The GM wasn't willing to risk letting Dion lose in the Reaper force when he seemed to go only were his interested lead him. "Sorry, but you have no choice." With a wave of his hand, the GM sent Dion to where the other Players were gather.
