Julian sighed. "Alright." He drew a complicated pattern in the dust that somewhat resembled a star only it had an unprecedented amount of points and was inside a circle with small, intricate symbols. He dug something like gravel out of his pocket, it was too dark to really see what it was. He put a piece at each the end of each point and on the various symbols inside of the pattern. He scattered the rest in the center. He started to mutter a chant and the pattern started to glow.

Julian finished the incantation and the points of pricing bright lights came from the gravel, creating thin rays of concentrated white light. "Amber helps house the life I summon that would otherwise be impossible."

"Not a person. The rock I used. Fossilized tree sap." Julian explained. There was a dull ringing noise as the light from the amber gravel became more intense. "Close your eyes." Julian advised, snapping his eyes shut.

Nightshade coverd his and julians eyes with a shadows so they could still see what was happenining adn reduced the glare so they could see the what was happening in the light.

The rays of light all moved and conected over the center of the pattern. There was a flash of light and a figure stood there. It was half there, translucent.

The light faded away. The figure stepped up to Nightshade. "Do you believe in ghosts?" It asked in a low, raspy voice.

"Were they now...? So am I." The thing grinned. He turned to Julian. "You've changed." He said. Julian's face went blank. "What? Do I... know you?"
