As Eva approached, the drunk gave her what he probably thought was a winning smile. "Hello thar, little lady," he said to her. "Fancy a good time with me."
Eva snickered, having taken her usual persona. "Oh, I do believe I'm going to have a good time with you," she said and reached out to cup the man's cheek
The man laughed loudly. "Oh yes ma-" Then his voice cut off and his eyes went wide. He looked confused for a moment, then he started trying to gasp for air, but Eva knew he wouldn't have the strength. After a moment of choking, the man started trying and his skin began to shrivel, like he was being mumified. After a moment, Eva pulled her hand and away and the drunk fell down, dead. Then she flipped her hair behind her shoulder, turned and walked towards where Bane was waiting.

Bané raised an eyebrow. "Interesting..." He said drawing out the last syllable. "So is that magic or a genetic trait. I've seen both." He looked around Eve at the body for a few seconds, then returned to her, awaiting an answer.

"Probably genetics," Eva replied with a shrug. "My mom was human, my dad was.... something else. Something bad." She was a little surprised by Bané's mild reaction.

"Concider yourself lucky." Bané said , "I never knew either of my parents. I might not even be human for all I know." He shrugged. "Is that how you feed?" he asked Eva.

"That's one way, I can eat food, like a normal human but this way is simpler," Eva replied, choosing not to comment on how lucky she was concerning her parentage.

"I see..." So you think that you'll do that to me?" Bané said with a smirk, "You don't know who your dealing with. Just try it." He said putting a hand on his gun, but staying in the same relaxed position he was in, as if nothing was different about the situation.

Eva just heaved a sigh. "I don't want to do it to you," she said, but as she did, Bané's shadow warpped and climbed up his body. it had materialized yet so he wouldn't feel it. Then it wrapped itself around his arm and the gun and materialized, holding them in place.

Bané went to shift his arm, then realizing that Eva had used some kind of foul. "I have two arms you know..." He said threateningly. His other hand went for his gun, and quickly pointed the barrel of the revolver towards Eva's head. He didn't exactly plan on shooting her, it was more a precaution, then anything.

"I'm just showing you who you are dealing with," Eva replied, unconcerned that she had a gun pointed at her head. It wasn't like it hadn't happened before. His shadow retracted into its original shape. "it's not like it would take much to taint you."

((sorry earth hour.)) "It would be with a hole in your head." Bané said seemingly serious, but smiling at the same time. He put the revolver away, and pushed off the fence. "Quite a team we make. At each others throats already. Anyway, lets get started then." He said beckoning into the town.

"So after all this, you're still going to help me?" Eva asked, confused. She thought that everything she had showed him, he would run as fast as could, in the opposite direction. Instead, it sounded like he was going to stay with her.

"Why not?" Bané said with a shrug. "I've nothing better to do. I'm more or less retiring. And if that requires helping a pretty lady, then so be it." Even though he was about thirty, Bané had enough money to live the rest of his life in luxury, he considered this retirement. "I've seen stranger, and i probably will again. By the way, hows the world? You probably know more about it then I do."

Eva shrugged. "I don't see the best the world has to offer," she replied, turning away. "So to me it appears pretty screwed up." She was thinking about what to do next. She still wanted to get her hands on that elf girl, especially after so recently having tainted her. A girl with that much magic, Eva could imagine the things she could do with her.

"That's unfortunate." Bané said as if he didn't even care. He wondered what life was like outside the desert and the town. He almost didn't want to wonder, what if there were wars, what if everywhere was just as messed up as the town? He always thought that it was just because bandits and such came here, but what if that was actually everywhere?

"If you are going to help me," Eva began, looking back at him. "You should know what I'm doing. I crossed path with this elf and this human a little while back, and they intrigued me. I tried to taint them but they managed to evade me. The elf has a great amount of magic in her and if I could taint her, then I wouldn't have to kill things to feed, her magic would be enough. The human has this weird ability to cut people up with ease, but I have a feeling he maybe more trouble then he's worth. I came here looking for people I could taint to help me catch these two."
