Kiae looked up in surprise and reached the door faster than she thought she had meant to. Opening it slightly, though she knew full-well who was on the other side, she peered into the hall.
"Of course you can," she replied, stepping back to let him in. She was glad he had decided to return, of course, but was nervous for some inexplicable reason.

Ethin nodded his thanks and stepped in awkwardly, unsure of what he should do. He felt like an idiot for storming out in a fit of anger. "I'm sorry for being so immature," he said softly.

She shut the door and watched him. She wasn't sure why he had decided to return and wondered if it had something to do with Haidar.
"It's all right, I was being very mean and petty," she admitted, eyes downcast as she fidgeted, her hands crinkling the butter-yellow silk of her dress.

Ethin took a step towards her, and cupped her face in his hands, forcing her to meet his eye. "She does not compare to you, not in the slightest," he said, seeing again the beauty in her that made him fall for her so quickly.

Kiae stared at him, always taken by surprise when the stoic Warder said things like that. Turning a bright pink, she couldn't stop the smile on her lips from growing. She wanted to ask why he was so insistent she stay with them, but didn't want to ruin the peaceful moment.
"I love you too," she said with a small laugh.

Ethin couldn't help but smile when he saw her. "Now how about we get some rest?" he suggested, weariness suddenly hitting him.

Kiae nodded, glad she would be able to get sleep with her Warder beside her. "That sounds like a good plan," she agreed, suddenly barely able to conceal a yawn. She reluctantly stepped away from him and quickly slipped her clothes off, remaining only in her shift as she moved towards the bed.

Ethin smiled, happy things were going well between the pair, and put his clothes into a neat pile, that could be easily accessed in times of distress, beside the bed. He turned to Kiae, giving her a small kiss on the cheek before rolling over and shutting his eyes, body drained from the stress of the day.

"I hope things stay like this," Kiae wished, even while knowing it would prove almost impossible. She curled up next to her Warder with a contended sigh, pulling the blankets over them both as she closed her eyes and smiled to herself.

Ethin woke after a good, restful sleep and found that the sun had not even come up yet. "An early start is aways good," he thought as he looked down to find Kiae peacefully asleep. He donned his clothes and quietly shuffled out to attend to his morning duties. He grabbed a roll from the kitchen and sent a woman up to get a hot bath and breakfast going for Kiae when she woke.
Ethin left, content with the morning's start and headed over to Esole's family's inn. He found her brother manning the front door and nodded to the man before going inside. He found that the inn was already bustling with those getting ready for their day as well. He spotted Esole, Rosalyn, and Ezekiel at their usual table. "Good morning," Ethin bidded the group before taking a seat.
"Someone seems to be in good spirits after his night," Esole snickered. Rosalyn gave her a frosty glare which quickly passed. Ethin would not have noticed had he looked a second later. It only affirmed what Kiae had said the previous evening.
"I slept well and am up before the sun. You know those are my favorite mornings," Ethin replied dryly, receiving only more snickering from Esole. Ezekiel sighed at his daughter's jabs at Ethin which quickly ended her childishness.
"What are our plans for the day?" Ethin asked the group.
"Whenever our late riser Kiae decides to get moving, we should go about combing the town for any leads," Esole responded seriously.

Kiae blinked awake and realized the sun was beginning to rise higher into the sky, swearing upon seeing that. "Why didn't Ethin bloody wake me?" she demanded to no one in particular, aggravated at herself. She had a tendency to sleep later during her last pregnancy as well, but it hadn't been an issue then. Now, it was.
"I'll have to tell him to just wake me up," she grumbled, going through her morning routine in record time, dressing and putting her hair up even faster. Neglecting to eat in her haste to leave, she quickly headed down the stairs and out the inn, using the Bond to find Ethin. "And what kind of Warder just leaves his Aes Sedai asleep and helpless?" she grumbled, although she grinned to herself at the silliness of it.
Haidar scared her when he appeared at her side as she headed down the street, appearing rested and newly-shaven. "I was wondering when you were going to rise," he remarked, hiding a grin at her jump.
"Haidar!" she gasped, shaking herself. "Don't sneak up on me, for Light's sake! And one of you needs to wake me up from now on, I'll not be the one holding us up," she scolded him.
"Your Warder seemed to want to let you rest, so I have no place to do anything else," he remarked briefly, shadowing her as they moved down the street.
Seeing he was already at Esole's family's inn, she sighed and mentally prepared herself, sure the noblewoman was already there. The weather was chilly and she was glad she wore her heavy gown, the walk having warmed her as well.
"Good morning," she greeted them with a smile. "I'm sorry for being the last one up," she added, swiftly taking a seat next to her Warder. Haidar took up post behind her, looking for all the world a solemn, human-shaped rock.

"The princess has finally woken from her deep slumber, I see," Esole said, snickering once more. Her father shot her a disapproving glare and her triumphant smile faded slightly.
"Good morning, Kiae," Ethin said warmly, happy to have her join them. He ignored Esole's comment but knew that Kiae would be aggravated with it either way.
Rosalyn looked at the display and hid her smile behind her crimson-frilled fan. "It is nice to see you," Rosalyn said, matching Ethin's warmth. Ethin shifted uncomfortably in his seat, knowing the noblewoman's comment was meant to anger Kiae further.

Kiae cocked an eyebrow at Esole - despite the woman's teasing, she was in a pleasant mood this morning and the fact that Esole was at least in agreement with her on certain problems helped her mood further. "I've heard princesses don't sleep as well as that, Esole," she replied lightly. "Matters of state and all that. I think we sleep better!" She laughed slightly and simply ignored the noblewoman, turning her smile to Ethin.
"I wish you had woken me, I'd much rather start the day early than lag behind," she chided him lightly, her smile dismissing her words anyway.
Haidar nodded briefly towards Esole and her family once Kiae established they were fine, having no words for them anyway. "Kiae Sedai is in a cheerful mood this morning, I wonder why?" he thought.

Ethin smiled adoringly back, feeling completely enamored by her good mood.
Rosalyn cleared her throat loudly, drawing the attention of all those around. "Perhaps we should get started on what we will be doing today," she said in a matter-of-fact tone.
Esole sighed dismissively. "Who said you were tagging along?" she asked.
Rosalyn maintained her sweet exterior and smiled. "I do not intend to leave Ethin. He may need my help again," she responded.
Ethin averted his eyes, smiling fading slightly. He wanted no part of their argument.

Kiae had to make an effort to keep her jaw from dropping over as she shot a look over to Esole. Before she could even say anything, she heard Haidar chuckling under his breath.
"What makes you think a Warder who has his Aes Sedai, not to mention myself and Esole Sedai, needs your help, woman?" he demanded through his laughter, making no effort to hide his contempt for her audacity.
Kiae merely stared at the woman, surprised Haidar was taking such an initiative and rather pleased about it, considering Ethin's attitude towards the woman.
