At least, I'd have laughed. biggrin If you're just patient the people/parents who pester you about POTO will eventually give up or be turned to the light. It used to drive my stepdad crazy that I liked POTO and musicals and all that 'gay stuff' rolleyes but now he barely bats an eye when I say I'm going to see Wicked or Tosca or something. Generally they're either convinced it's a phase or just pestering you back for the time you ran around the house in a cape. Ignore 'em, and don't bother them with endless tirades about how much you omgtehloffPOTO. Watch out for demon spawn cousins/siblings/nephews, though. They're evil. Years ago one of mine got away and into my shelf 'o fragile things, where he threw a POTO snowglobe on the floor and shattered it into a jillion pieces.

Phantom Phan 4ever Ok, I'm gonna list afew things I hate and you answer which one you hate on the poll. 1. 'Fans' (not true Phans) who see the 2004 movie and say: "He's so hot, only if he keeps the mask on" 2. 'Fans' that spell his name with a 'c' (Eric) 3. People that say he can't sing. 4. Okay, well I am on Myspace as I roleplay Erik quite a bit. I made my own little Erik and my own little profile. This Christine added me and asked for my Yahoo SN. No problem. Well she invited me into a chatroom and started to talk about how great Raoul was, how sexy Raoul was, how he deserved Christine. I was just sitting there quietly watching everything. Than when I put my input in about how Erik really deserved to be with Christine and I believed that Christine loved Erik more... She jumped all over me! xDD She was like "CHRISTINE WOULD NEVER LOVE A HIDIOUS THING LIKE THAT!" Okay... well I am not gunna type my rant and everything... but that pisses me off so much! ><

Raoul could give Christine everything she wanted, even if they had to move out of France and Raoul resign the title of Viscount for marrying a common girl. There are far too many obsticles that would keep Erik and Christine from ever being happy if Christine really did love him in the romantic sense.

Yes. He was meant to be a hideously deformed villain. The antagonist to Christine's protagonist. Erik is both Villain and monster, but I think what Leroux really wanted to show most was a more of a pitiful creature destined for greatness but robbed of it by his deformity. I believe above fear or hatred, Leroux wanted sympathy mixed with pity to be the overall feeling you get for Erik.
