"Ugh!" Kiba moaned as he hauled himself back onto dry land. Now every pore of his body was absolutely inundated with water. His extremely drenched state had long ago caused his skin to wrinkle greatly. With a great sigh he threw his shirt onto a nearby rock to dry out and then proceded to unwrap his soaked bandages and toss them aside as well. With nothing remaining on his upper body he quickly kicked off his sandals and removed his kunai and shuriken holders. With little more than his pants and greaves on the greenhorn genin plopped down onto a rather large, flat rock. Trying to think of some way to further excelerate the drying off process he animatedly shook out his hair flinging drops of lagoon water in all directions. With deep breaths he regained his composure and then a question came to his mind. "Oi! Shin-san! What exactly are we here for again?" Though Kiba would rather have the extra time to dry off he was genuinely curious to know what exactly they were supposed to do now that they were down here. Maybe if the young swordsman could strike up a conversation with Shin he could get his body temperature off of his mind.

After sitting on the rock for a while and waiting for Shin to respond to him Kiba noticed Tanu laying out on a rock nearby. As he looked at her he noticed how magnificently athletic she looked. Naturally thought was a comment that would be kept to himself, but it was still just as true. Not wanting to let anyone, particularly Tanu, see the admiration for her in his face he quickly turned away and shook his head again sending even more water flying. He could feel himself beginning to get slowly warmer, or at the very least he was beginning to feel less cold. He hoped his squad, eager as he was to start training, would not have to do anything while he was still this drenched. Maybe, at the very least, he would not fall into the lagoon again...

As he waited to dry off Kiba tried to generate just a little heat by rubbing his hands together and creating some heat giving friction. It helped a bit, but it was not nearly enough. As he did this he looked around and allowed his mind to wonder as it so often did. Though he really did not know all that much about them the young Raiken had heard that the chuunin exams were currently under way. He wondered how the ninja of Shimagakure were fairing. Raiken Kiba Miyazaki -- the chuunin! thought the young swordsman to himself. True, he had not even officially been annointed as a genin yet, but he could not help but wonder what he would be like when he reached the level of chuunin. Of course, it would be no fun at all if his chuunin fantasies were realistic! Oh no! Naturally, when Kiba reached the level of chuunin he would be muscular beyound comprehention and would have unparalleled sword skills. Heck, he would probably even be the Kage without even having to reach jounin level! A rather stereotypical boyish day dream, but Kiba could not resist. They do, after all, say 'shoot for the moon and you will land in the stars.'

As Kiba's day dreaming went out of control he felt himself slowly reclining backwards onto the great, flat stone he had been sitting on for quite some time now. He did not notice it at first, but after a while the young Raiken began to feel drastically warmer. What was it? The sun obviously had not suddenly gotten warmer or anything... Of course. Kiba smacked himself in the forehead when he realized that the extra heat was clear comming from the big rock he was now lying on. Now he was getting dried out even faster by the sun rays hitting his front and the stored up heat coming from the rock. Kiba's happy smile filled his face as he knew that he would soon be rid of the misery of the feeling of being wet. Surely his genin squad training would not require him to get wet... No, no! Nonsense! What are the chances of that? As Kiba waited for the last drops of water to evaporate from his body he threw a glance over to his clothes on a near by rock and was quite pleased to see that they were almost dry as well. Not only would the young Raiken himself be dry, but he would also have nice, wamr clothing to put on too.

Shin sat back quietly, knowing that Kiba and Tanu were probably both a little upset with him. As Tanu sunbathed with some of her clothes and Kiba shaking his head to get as much water off as possible, he heard Kiba speak up and ask him a question. "Oh! Natamo-sensei is suppose to train us in teamwork..." Shin began, excited about the idea, but then slowly trailed off as he remembered the cold tone in which Natamo had just spoken to them in. "Ah...." Shin sighed, knowing that their training exercise was probably upped in difficult due to the aggrivation they'd already cause Natamo and Hanabira's squad. Speaking of Hanabira's squad... "Isn't Orika suppose to be training with them?" Shin asked to Kiba and Tanu, finding it weird that the two would begin their teamwork practice without their third squad member. Orika did have a lot of responsibility put on her shoulders ever since her mother died though... Shin bet she was still at the farm taking care of duties, but it was almost the afternoon!

Natamo's ears caught Shin's word, and she looked at them with a devilish smirk on her face.
"Well, Mr Shin, I was going to have all of you warm up the way Karite and Hana are, but I'm not sure you'd be able to keep it together. Teamwork huh? Well then...this outta be fun." Natamo rubbed her chin for a second, debating the different things that she could have them do. Maybe an easy game of tug of war... that was always team-y. Only there weren't even sides... Tanu, Kiba, Shin, Karite and Hana. Oh, the joy that was flowing within her from evil plots...
Natamo sighed. She missed that soft old Uchiha. Well not soft, but at least moderately squishy and less irritating and not so bossy. She mussed her hair and eyed the three boys and two girls. Well the three boys, one girl, and Tanu, who was a wicked hybrid of the two. All the biological features of a girl, but the nasty temperament and rough attitude of a boy. Perhaps the building of something... Aha! Natamo grinned again and climbed up another tree, sifting through branches she had long made her home and treasure trove and looking for ideas. Nets, old weapons, furs and skins were up here... let's see... why not a ladder exercise? That could be done with uneven groups. Natamo looked around for the logs that were connected with thick ropes, and threw them down between two trees, following suit and landing on the ground easily. The trees she had set this up between spanned about 20 feet apart, and the same amount high. A twenty by twenty grid of logs and ropes, it had taken her almost a whole season to construct - but she spent most of her time alone in the lagoon, so it had filled up a great deal of her time. This would be nice for them to start their teamworking on.
"Easy enough. Get to the top. Think you can handle that, Shin? Tanu? Kiba?" she asked, smirking. Karite and Hana could work on it after they finished their current exercise.
The Ladder Climb to the top - but it's not as easy as Natamo Zeayla says. The first few rungs are easy, but the gap gets bigger. You must work together to reach the top and keep from being brutally punished.

Kore noticed the women was in charge, which meant she probably was the one who tied his brother up. Growling louder now baring his white teeth. Unstained from lack of hunting he eyed the women. She seemed to have some skill with animals. Kore could smell different kinds, she wasn't a master of one but many. Although the way Karite spoke it seemed this was fine. Now the lion wanted attention and something to do. It was fine for Karite to get stronger but it did him no good if his partner was weak. His gold eyes stared at the women as if trying to force his thoughts into her mind. He wanted to be trained he wanted to be strong like Baki to protect his brothers and his sisters.

Natamo caught sight of a half grown lion, and grinned.
"Looks like that little runt of a cub got bigger than I remembered, Karite. Nicely done," she said, praise mixed in with the small insult - though it wasn't really an insult, more of a joke to her. She knelt and held out her hand, and thought for a minute. This brat needed to be a little more charismatic if he wanted to get anywhere, and she grinned. She had juuuust the exercise for him, and it would take a toll both on Kore and on the volunteer she had to extract from the forest around the lagoon. But it would be well worth it. She whistled, and a rustle followed by obvious hesitation but obedience showed she was successful.
"Alright then kitty...it's about time you learn to make friends a little easier. This is called a rabbit, and you're not to eat her. By the time you finish I want this girl to be asleep next to you - in one piece or I'll skin you and poor Karite will need to get a new partner. Got it?" Natamo petted the large rabbit and cooed - she was a floppy eared, speckled brown and spoiled rotten by the animal trainer. She had a collar around her neck, bright and very obvious, so that anyone hunting would know not to kill her. She lived with the animal trainer, so the rabbit knew not to run too far into the woods so that she didn't get eaten by anything wild.

Kore listened to the woman's unwelcome humor and snapped his jaws at her. If she wanted a fight he was more than welcome to give it to her. He would not have his pride insulted, but this woman seemed to have other things in mind. As she brought out a rabbit of a larger build than the ones he devoured when he was younger Kore's muzzle began to spread. His golden eyes reflected what he had come to associate with food. Automatically following instinct the lion hunched down getting lower to the ground. Eying the tasty snack his growl become longer and his teeth began to drip. As the tamers words reached his curved ears he pricked them and stopped, drawing back. She wanted the mighty lion of the Tategami clan, kings of the island to befriend a weak and tasty snack like this? Her words were not empty threats and even Kore could sense that. This had just went from a mildly bad day to an even worse day.
As the rabbit looked at the lion it was immediately targeted as prey. Not feeling welcomed the rabbit tried to fight its way from its masters grip, but it soon calmed when the lion seemed to draw back. Being set down the rabbit sat shaking in its fur in front of the lion. Its floppy rabbits alternating from being up and down. It was beyond scared and with the beast that had more than likely chased him around the island before sitting in front of him it did not make things better.

Kore laid down crossing his paws and resting his head gently. This women honestly expected him to befriend such a pathetic creature as this? It had no fangs to speak of, no true defense except for its speed and its strength was unheard of. Now a really animal to befriend would be something worth fighting with. A lion, a tiger, a bear (oh my). These were all creatures who lived for the hunt and were not afraid to look into the eyes of death and roar. This creature awaited death on a daily basis for its weak lifestyle. Blowing a breath from its mouth cause the lions muzzle to shake slightly. It saw no reason to befriend something that had no right to be called anything but dinner. When the lion thought of something to do, it meant something that was worthy of his name. Hunting, fighting, stealing thanks to Karite. His skills in detection were nothing to scoff at either. Karite and Kore were unsung thieves of the night and Karite's light feet and quick hand's were an complimented by Kore's sensitive nose and ear's. This...this thing did not deserve to even breath next to him.

Shin approached the ladder a little cautiously, thinking that Natamo had booby-trapped it or done something to trick them into thinking it was a normal ladder that only got wider as it went higher. "Alright..." Shin said as he made his first step and grabbed onto the first bars. "Seems... sturdy enough," Shin said as he turned to Tanu and Kiba. "We can do this guys!" Shin said with a smile, thinking the training that Natamo had given them was a bit easier than what he had given Hanabira and Karite! Or then again... Something was amuck! That devilish grin that Natamo had given them before she climbed up into her tree... Shin was nervous and his palms were going to start sweating any moment.

"Aww... Much better!" said with a contented smile on his face as he absorbed wonderful heat of the sun and felt completely dry, clothes and all! Having been laying down for a while now Kiba finally convinced himself to get up off the rock and start stretching. While he did this he heard Shin respond to his earlier question. First of all, he was struck by the fact that it was rather odd that Karite and Hanabira's squad was short a person. Secondly and more troublingly, however, he heard Shin tell him that Natamo would be training them. Dang it! the young Raiken thought as a look of despair conquered his face Natamo's gonna kill us! Dang it Shin! Every time you talk something bad happens!" The dark eyes of the Raiken eyed Natamo suspiciously as he scampered through the trees and brought out a massive rope ladder. It seemed rather large, but not particularly intimidating, but the young Raiken could not underestimate it since Natamo seemed so... 'confident' in it. Kiba did wonder about how Natamo expected Karite and Hanabira to scale this thing alone, it did, after all look more difficult at the top. The young Raiken also worried about the height difference between his genin squad members. Shin would have little trouble with his great height, and Kiba himself had pretty good height. Tanu on the other hand was dwarfed by Shin. Kiba's apprehensions were quickly dashed, though, by Shin's words of encouragement and the young swordsman was quick to scamper on up the ladder a bit above Shin. "I think you're right Shin!" began Kiba "This won't be so bad! Come on Tanu! Even though you're short me and Shin can help you up!"
