Madeline's eyes sparkled. A hot tub! A water slide! Oooh, she'd have fun here. And the fact that it had bedrooms was a good retreat from the horrors if there were any. She'd have to unpack her bathing suit when they were done.

Naomi followed along quietly as she took in the scenery. She too wasn't much of a sports fan (although the way Adrienne put it probably threw off the guys, who weren't used to her speech patterns), but like her sister the water land took her interest immediately. She was a pretty good swimmer, so this (plus all the fun stuff like the slide and hot tub) was definiately a place to mark in the map in her mind. The retreat house also looked awesome; it was like a private getaway! She might spend alot of time out here...oh yes she would!

And it was fun to imagine little Markus and Alyek and the other boys playing carefreely and adorable-looking as kids.

A party? Good Lord. More girls to avoid. "You may wish to give the staff adequate warning that they may best prepare for this party. And father as well." And me, Alyekzander thought to himself. He could not very well avoid something he did not know was coming! A gaggle of teenage girls who've just realized they can fill a bikini wandering around for a rousing game of guess the jail bait... it sounded disastrous. Then again, considering the girl in question, maybe all her friends would show in frilly black one pieces and smoke cloves or something. Or was that the wrong alternative subgroup? It was terribly confusing since they all wore black, listened to terrible music and wrote worse poetry. It was all very exciting when he was a girl crazy high schooler, but gone were the days, as they say.

Naomi caught the murmur from Madeline and tried not to let out a similar groan for pity. "Oh dear, it IS, isn't it? Oh well, mabye you'll get lucky and Mom'll pick a pretty one!" she murmured back to the girl. Either way, a pool party sounded like fun, provided that none of the guests were shady. And it'd be interesting if the stepbrothers decided to actually show up in swim trunks.......haha. Yeah right; they'd show up in normal clothes just to clash with the party style.

Cecelia frowned. Today's lesson had just been plain boring. A little bit of reading, new assignment, hand in the old one, etc, etc. Right now, the black haired girl was sitting across from one of her oldest friends, Mimi, who was a high school dropout. Mimi never bothered going to college, she just got an apprentiship at the local bookstore. Cecelia, of course, was supposed to be working right now, but the cafe was suttle, and no one needed anything. Then again, cleaning was always an option, but not one Cecelia liked.

"Hey, Cel? You even listening?" Her friend questioned, interupting Cecelia's thoughts. Apparently, the girl had been ranting on about another boy she had just broken up with, who had cheated on her. Cecelia really would care, if this didn't happen all the time. Mimi, seriously, must have a bad-boy magnet attached to her someplace.

"Oh, uhh, sorry Mimi. Just spacing out.." She replied in a monotone voice.

"Well, I guess I can't be mad at you for that... I mean, you're always the one that has to sit through my complaining.... I'm such a bad friend..." Mimi confessed, looking upset.

Cecelia's heart went out for her at that moment. "No, no, no, no, no! You're a great friend, and you'll find someone soon. Trust me, there's a guy for everyone."

Mimi's expression lightened. "So.. have you met anyone new, yet?" She asked, instantly into gossip mode.

What happened to Miss Drepression..? Cecelia thought jokingly. "No. And I don't plan on it anytime soon. Single is the way to go."

"Still not over Jims?" Mimi asked. 'Jims' was a made-up person, whom she called any of Cecelia's past boyfriends.

Cecelia rolled her dark eyes. "Sure... Anyways, I was just getting the point across that dating is for those who, oh, let's say, don't lead an extremely busy life. I have work here, college, acting, and now I have boxes and settling in to do at the new house. Not to mention the guys to deal with now."

"Mhmm. So, what are these guys like anyways?" Cecelia's friend asked impatiently.

"Meh. Most of them are alright. Markus is cool; he's the oldest. Then, Alyekzander is really well mannered. The rest I haven't had much contact with, but seen. They're all quite the same, really. Just your average guys." Cecelia added the last part, so she didn't let anything on to her friend. Who knows what would happen if she started to fall for one of them. Utter chaos, is what.
