Pssh, I was talking literally. And, I have another question-- 'If a vehicle moving faster than light turns on its headlights, What happens?' That's guaranteed to keep you up at night, or your money back! Not that you paid me or anything.

Given that an object would have to have no atmospheric interference to reach the speed of light, I highly doubt there would be a pole.

No, there would still be a pole. And it would crash into it.

...there's always that one pole in the middle of nowhere that people seem to hit...

All wrong. A vehicle moving faster than light wouldn't be able to see out of its own window. Thus, a light would be useless, and would have been overlooked in the designing process. so THERE. xp

Which is /why/ it would run into a pole -- there's no way the driver could see where they were going.

that pole in the middle of nowhere is always hit, regardless of light.

Yes, you are correct, but as there would be no headlights in the first place, the question is nullified. I win.

no you don't. As I said, regardless of light. ********, you could be driving blindfolded in the event horizon of a black hole and not have any vision whatsoever and you could still hit the pole.
You're just trying to win by using the 'if a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it' argument. Sorry. You do NOT see Russia from your house. You do NOT pass GO. You do NOT catch a mudkip. Outlook not so good. talk2hand

I don't see why not....as long as they're wearing the proper sci-fi protection so they could be in space/whatever planet we're talking about.
Though the question I believe is: If the vehicle in question were to hit anything at the speed of light or fatser, would there be anything left of either object in the end?
