A natural smile had formed on the boy's face. It seemed pretty obvious that Fate had found it, and a sense of relief washed over him. Also, she seemed to be falling a lot. It probably shouldn't have been, but it was a bit funny watching the girl fall like that.

"Gee, I'm not sure." He pretended to ponder a bit as he walked over to her. "But... I'd have to say that you're probably one of them."

She grinned. "Smart answer!" Fate held out the wallet. "And here's your reward for the right answer! I would do the whole 'Tell him what he won bob' kinda thing... But that seems a lil stupid, eh?" She cocked her head to a side.

"Probably, but then who knows?" Taking the wallet back into his hand he felt a weight fall onto his shoulders and heart. He knew it was imaginary, but that didn't stop the weight from taking the smile off his face and pulling him back behind a more detached exterior. I probably look like I'm having mood swings... He thought, staring at the wallet in his hand.

Preferably, he would've walked away right then and there to check the contents of the wallet. However, Ignis didn't want to act so rude to the girl when it was thanks to her that he'd gotten it back in the first place. Still, he opened the wallet while making sure that Fate couldn't see whatever was inside. "Thanks. I guess really owe you one for this."

"It's fine." She noticed the smile wiped off his face. "Things like that are important. You don't need to do anything for me. After all... Your the one that practically saved me so I guess we're even?"

"No, I don't really think it's even." He closed the wallet, but kept it in his hands and didn't put it away into his pockets. "It wasn't really the wallet, it was something else that was important. And compared to that... I owe you a lot more than you probably think."

He knew that he didn't really have to tell the truth like this, he could've just went along with her and simply said that yes, it's even and all in the past now. But he didn't feel up to that.

Her smile faltered. She kept up the fake one as she listened to him. Fate didn't want anything else from him. She just wanted to forget about getting lost. If he still owed her, then she wouldn't be able to forget about it. No matter how important what ever was inside that wallet, she didn't want him to say anything like that. Her bipolar side was kicking in. The shadows twitched again. The more she thought about getting lost in the woods and having someone rescue her was starting to tweak her off.

Then a scene began to unravel in her mind: She stumbled blindly through the woods. It was early afternoon and the sun beat down on her. She was drenched in blood and the shadows leaped up.

"Stop..." She whispered pleading the memory to go away.

She couldn't do anything to save them. They were gone. Both of them. Trembling, she looked down at her hands. Unknown feelings and satisfaction flooded through her. It was overwhelming. Looking around with wide eyes, she saw the shadows leaping around. "I control them don't I..." As if to respond, they rushed towards her then stopped. The girl tried to push them away and then everything went black. The only memory she had after that was coming home with her dad after walking through the forest.

Ignis noticed her smile faltering, becoming less sincere. "Fate?"

He looked at her more closely when she whispered and saw that there was something definately wrong. He gritted his teeth and cursed inside of his mind. Had he said something terribly wrong again? Had he unintentionally broken another person?

He placed a hand on the girl's shoulder and shook her slightly. "Fate? Snap out of it. I'm sorry, I won't owe you anything. We're even alright? Just, don't do this to me." Dammit. He thought as he faught back a sudden flood of emotions that he'd always kept under ice. It just won't end will it?

Sudden realization hit her. "I know how you can pay me back. Just.. Stop. You shouldn't really owe me anything." She tried to cover up what she said with the 'stop' a few minutes ago. "Life is probably just important as whatever is in there... But anyways, the library... I need you to help me find something."

He nodded, not really trusting himself to speak yet. A rational part of his mind was wondering why she'd need to find something in the library, but it seemed really trivial at the moment so he paid no attention to it. Gripping the wallet tightly in one hand, he motioned with the other that she should lead the way and that he'll simply follow behind her.

She nodded her head faking another smile as they entered the house. Sneaking past everyone, she darted into the library. By the time he would of gotten there, she had about fifteen books out. All were medical related or something of the like.

She looked in the back for medical terms and definitions. Reading them one seemed to stand out more then the others. Amnesia. "That's it... that's what we need to find more about." She said aloud not sure if he was behind her or not. "Amnesia."

"Amnesia?" Ignis repeated behind her. That word definately clicked something in his mind, but, he didn't like sticking his nose into personal businesses before and he wasn't about to start liking it now. Especially when he himself felt like he was caught up in a turmoil.

He looked at the number of books she'd already gathered and asked, "Do you want me to start looking through those, or get more books about it?" He remembered that he still hadn't finished reading all the books he'd picked up the night before. Books... That's a good idea. I should read them as soon as possible and try to calm down a bit.

"These are the only ones. I scanned through the index for a few more before you got here and they didn't have it." Fate was glad he didn't ask why. If there was less talking and she found it before him it would make life easier... Right?

Then again... What if what she was looking for wasn't right. She heard her father talking about it to someone but wasn't exactly sure what it meant. Sitting down, she brushed her hair back and started looking through a book.

He picked up one of the books and opened it to the index page, but he didn't bother reading it yet and asked a question instead. "So... What exactly am I supposed to find out about amnesia? It's patterns, causes, or just the general topic?"

His mind was really running away with him. Ignis already had at least 10 theories as to why Fate might want to find out about amnesia and only 3 likely ones. "Memory loss..." He simply muttered to no one in particular.

She froze. Her heart had skipped a beat and for a second, she almost forgot how to breath. "Memory loss..." The girl repeated as if off in some far away place. It rang a bell. A very, very familiar bell.

Noticing the girl's reaction to his muttering he felt as though he wanted to just crawl into bed and sleep until he developed a small amnesia of his own or believed that everything that happened so far was a dream. Can I ever have a week where my words don't cause such a huge reaction in somebody?

But of all things, he knew words were something that really couldn't be taken back once it left the mouth and registered in someone's mind. "Fate?" He didn't want to ask a stupidly, obvious question like 'Is something wrong?' or a question that she may or may not want to answer like, 'What's wrong?'. So all he could think of saying was simply calling out her name.
